This is a non-scientific theory of mine but I really think the only reason J&B don't get sick on the regular is because their systems are use to under-cooked or spoiled food from Benji's cooking. They've had 1 too many guests get sick after staying with them so he definitely isn't following any kind of health codes in that house.

In the "COTTON CANDY FLAVORED GRAPES?! - August 29, 2014" vlog Judy refers to the house as her parent's new house around 9:01 in that vlog. This IS the same house that is under the IRA listed in Judy's name.

TLDR: Judy bought another house close by to her current house. She used an IRA account to purchase it. Judy's parents moved in. This is not allowed under the IRA regulations. As of August 2014 we do not know if they used any loopholes to get away with this or if they are doing it illegally.

I know that some people have mentioned her cousins a little bit on this thread but does anyone know specifically why they aren't shown in Judy's vlogs and and vice-versa? They used to constantly be in each others videos before the twins were born and I've watched almost every single ItsJudysLife video and can't figure out what might have happened? It's just so strange because they always seemed SO CLOSE and now on her cousins vlogs whenever Judy and Benji are around them they only really ever show the kids and it's just weird. It is something that I have been super curious about lately, especially with her cousin Anne's wedding video series going up in the last few weeks.

I don't think it's ever really been addressed but some people have speculated it's because the cousins dissed Benji a couple times on camera (especially his precious food) and after that the vlog appearances started to dwindle. Judy also took them out of her "Featured Channels" box too.
To be honest at this point it really wouldn't surprise me if they did it just to get people to question it and spark drama. It's very obvious everything they do in vlogs has some kind of motive behind it and since they clearly still hang out but avoid each others cameras there's something behind it. Her cousins are annoying as hell anyway so maybe between them and Benji she got too many complaints

I'm sorry if this has been addressed, but does Benji's mom know English? I would assume so if she married an English speaking man. Unless it's a situation where he understands Japanese and she obviously understands English. Benji and Julian were both born in Japan, so did they meet there? It's just whenever she is present, she only speaks Japanese.
I'm aware she is a teacher, but she could be teaching Japanese.

She's helped translate for Benji in the past so I imagine she does know English. Melody also seems to spend time with her more than Benji and Julian and Melody doesn't really know Japanese either. Her FB is mostly in Japanese but her friends/family respond in Japanese too so I guess that's just what she is comfortable with.

Then again I've always found it to be rude when everybody around her is speaking English and she just speaks Japanese. It makes it seem like she can't speak English but I just don't see how it's possible for her not too. I know Judy's parents do the same but they're usually around a bunch of family. Benji's mom seems like she's on her own from the Japanese side of the family.

I'm sure Benji's mom knows at least conversational English; she's probably just more comfortable speaking Japanese. Perhaps someone else who is more familiar will confirm, but my guess is that Benji's father served in the U.S. military - specifically the Navy - and was stationed in Japan for a while. I say it was the Navy because Benji says he lived in Japan until he was 5, and he lived in San Diego before moving to Marysville; there are major Navy facilities in both places.

Benji's mother is a special education aide with they Marysville School district, not a teacher... the qualifications and certifications for those jobs are different. In fact until the No Child Left Behind law a few years ago, you only needed a high school diploma to work as a teacher's aide. NCLB required that aides upgrade their post-secondary education to at least an Associate's (2-year) degree and changed the job title to "paraprofessional." The only exception are aides whose only duties are translating and I don't know if Obachan only does translation for Japanese speaking students or has other duties - like working with special needs kids - that require a degree. I happen to know this because I served on my kids' schools PTA and district PTA Councils and attended lots of school board meetings. At one point I was encouraged to run for a school board position but I thought better of it. In my school district, the teachers' union negotiated for the district to pay for aides to return to college and earn bachelor's degrees in special education. (better pay which equals larger union dues).

You didn't ask this but while I'm thinking about this Judy was born in San Diego and lived there for a while before moving to Marysville, just like Benji. Her older sister moved back to San Diego and we know their Dad was in the U.S. Navy.

A bit of trivia but until the 1990s the U.S. operated large naval and air force bases in the Philippines (Subic Bay & Clark). Under the operating agreement with the Philippines government, the Navy was required to enlist at least 400 Filipino men each year. Obviously that was a big deal in the Philippines (for those selected it was like winning the lottery) because it gave those men a good paying job, and more importantly, the ability to eventually migrate to the U.S. after serving at least six years in the Navy. From what I can tell that's how Judy's dad Albert and Mama Nini came to the U.S.

Benji's mom definitely knows English. I know lot of people who to this day their parents speak to them in their native language even though the parents are also Fluent in English. If that's what she did with her kids growing it up it might be a habit or just more comfortable with her or maybe she's still trying to inspire them to be more serious about learning the language. Plus I think she likes that its a bit more of a secretive language as far as the vlogs are concerned.

I don't really understand why Benji couldn't take the time to learn how to edit/record his own videos. I understand that it's a little different than a beauty guru and it's "so much harder" or whatever, but if Juditz can do it, I'm sure he's capable.

Didn't he say it was because he wasn't in college but also wasn't working a proper job? He worked at the YMCA (and the casino?) until Julian finished high school and then they started flipping houses and started HomeDealz, a few years after Benji finished high school. I bet his parents were fed up with his laziness, you can't have everything. If you choose not to go to college but also don't choose a job that is gonna take you anywhere then I can see why his parents were annoyed. Or he exaggerated everything and decided to leave home but made his parents into the evil figures in the situation. Someone who has been watching them from the beginning wanna answer in a more coherent way?
