I honestly think this was one of the worst things they could have possibly done for Joey at the moment. He seems to seriously believe that some substantial harm is going to befall him if he eats something that is considered "not healthy" (even if some of it might be played up for the camera), and poking fun at a fear as serious as his of his diet, even in a "well intentioned" or "all in good fun" way, is likely to just drive him even closer to a disorder and put distance between him and the people he hangs out with (respecting the issue of his diet insecurities), so he'll feel like he's all alone in whatever fight he's involved in.
