Re: BeautyCrush
oh my god right I've tried to not mention this because it has been mentioned before but what the HELL is with the 'I done this' and 'I done that'.. seriously how has she gone 20+ years of her life without realising that it is COMPLETELY grammatically wrong?! Or does she think it's just a cool way of saying things? I just don't understand, obviously her grammar doesn't have to be 100% but seriously that is just basic english and it's in almost every video

Re: BeautyCrush
She was soooo pretty in that make up video. Soooooooooooo gorgeous
anyways
Why Nic puts concealer on her browbones? I don't watch pixiwoo too often and i'm curious.

Re: BeautyCrush
She is totally a different person when she films alone than when she features in other people's videos. You can tell she puts on this bright, bubbly persona in her own videos to attract the younger viewers. In the videos she filmed with pixiwoo she was just so dull and awkward and it was so obvious she didn't want to be there. Shes socially awkward as she just giggles, has long pauses in her sentences and says ''I cant talk'' but what can you expect from someone who just sits at home, mooches in shops and starbucks. She doesn't really have any instances to really interact with other people, its quite sad really.
The downward camera angle she has in her own videos does her a LOT of favours btw.

Re: BeautyCrush
I don't think she came across as not wanting to be there, I think she was probably just nervous as Im sure she sees Sam and Nic as highly regarded in the youtube beauty community compared to herself.

It gets on my nerves too lol makes you wonder how she got through uni with that grammar. As someone working in communications (her blog and YouTube can be considered media) she should be careful about that. How can companies ask her to promote their products when she can't even spell.nessafire09 wrote:oh my god right I've tried to not mention this because it has been mentioned before but what the HELL is with the 'I done this' and 'I done that'.. seriously how has she gone 20+ years of her life without realising that it is COMPLETELY grammatically wrong?! The make up Sam and Nic did for her was gorgeous! She has a beautiful face but her edges need taming.

Re: BeautyCrush
To be honest i think she came across quite rude in the pixiwoo video, she was very awkward and quiet. If i had pretty good makeup artists doing my makeup i wouldn't just sit there.
Also I think this video kind of shows how little she actually knows about 'beauty'. Her every day makeup does her no favors, the really unhealthy wedges are bad enough, but she didn't seem that interested in the makeup they were putting on her and when they asked her questions about makeup she seemed very shy. I am passionate in makeup myself and once i talk about makeup i can't stop, yet she seems to be the opposite. Strange for someone who has a you tube channel with the word 'beauty' in her username!

Re: BeautyCrush
That's what I don't get. Sammi has been on youtube for years and had done hundreds of videos. Why is she still so insecure?! The nervous constant giggling is so completely annoying now. I honestly didn't notice it for a long time. Maybe it's gotten worse lately. I can't see how she will be taken seriously until she learns how to become a better speaker and relax on camera. Also has anyone noticed she seemed a lot less giggly when she is on camera with Ricky?emmaemma wrote:I don't think she came across as not wanting to be there, I think she was probably just nervous as Im sure she sees Sam and Nic as highly regarded in the youtube beauty community compared to herself.
Re: BeautyCrush
The giggling is just too much. She has done videos where she isn't giggling like a donkey so it's not an impossible task for her to achieve. She is very awkward but she manages meet ups with huge crowds and doesn't seem so uncomfortable in vlogs. She talks in the streets to herself whilst people look. Yet the giggling fits are in full force when she's doing beauty videos. Huh? She looked so unprofessional compared to the Pixiwoo sisters. Not to mention that stupid piece of hair that always falls across her forehead. Sort it out, babe. Get a proper parting so that one frizzy piece isn't falling all over the place and you're not constantly adjusting it.

Re: BeautyCrush
I agree with Maxyo when shes around real professionals she seems really meek, and her body language in the vid with pixiwoo seemed awkward e.g when she kept crossing her arms, she didn’t seem conformtable with them. The incessant giggling is starting to grate on a lot of people especially when there’s nothing remotely funny. Usually when people are really embarrassed the only thing they can do is laugh. I certainly do not take any fashion/beauty advice from someone who mostly dresses for a body shape they don't have, and worst of all has dry damaged hair. I really don't see anything beautiful about someone who isn't comfortable with themselves. I am all for people wanting to wear weave to make their hair grow and just for a change but, I mean the fact that she never wears her natural hair, girl has got some serioussssssss issues.

Re: BeautyCrush
Sammi is very very insecure. If she wants to grow her channel and be taken seriously the giggling at the end of every sentence must stop. I imagine this is a serious problem that she knows she has and it has been very difficult for her to stop this habit.heyheythere wrote:I agree with Maxyo when shes around real professionals she seems really meek, and her body language in the vid with pixiwoo seemed awkward e.g when she kept crossing her arms, she didn’t seem conformtable with them. She does not know how to dress for her figure. Sammi has an edgy style girl in her head that she dresses for but she needs to find the right shapes and tailoring that will flow with her height and her body type.
I'm not a fan of the big blocky chunky trendy style of shoes she loves. The heaviness of the shoes make her look stocky and shorter I think. I don't like huge heavy looking shoes in general.
Ahh the hair/weave issues. Black hair is a touchy hot button subject for many people. Black hair care is complicated in that everyone's hair is different and what works for someone's hair, that same product or technique may not work for another person with the same hair texture. A lot of hair care is personal preference. Taking good care of black hair requires educating yourself about your hair texture and what products/techniques you need to learn to get the results you want.
It REALLY annoys me when people try to talk about black hair who obviously know absolutely NOTHING black hair care or history. I have nothing against women who prefer to relax or wear weaves (I am natural) to each her own. In my opinion and speculation, I think Sammi may not know exactly how to take care of her own hair and does not like her real hair texture and length. I don't know if this is true. A lot of women wear weaves for protective styling or a style choice NOT because they hate their own hair. Again it's personal choice. I think it's important that your OWN hair is in good condition then rock whatever styling options you want. Just love your own hair and yourself.
I don't get the "pulled to the one side" Sammi hair style at all. Her weaves have never ever looked exactly right all the years I have been watching her videos. Thank God she has edges (laid down or not) go Google Naomi Campbell's edges. I'm sure Naomi would trade with Sammi in a minute. If I were Sammi and the "world" of youtube viewers talked about my hair as badly as they do, you bet I would be spending less money on clothing, shoes, and holidays to go to a hairstylist or fellow youtubers (BritPopPrincess or ShirleyEniang- great hair with and without weaves) and my hair would be "on POINT" considering youtube is my JOB ( although she refuses for some reason to acknowledge this fact).

Re: BeautyCrush
I agree with ChanelMagic, if you have afro hair you do need to educate yourself. I am mixed so I have a mixture of different hair types and one of them is afro hair. Years and years ago I bleached and dyed my hair like nobodys business, I was left which dry damaged hair about shoulder length nowhere near as bad as Sammis hair in that infamous picture but it was pretty bad. But its been a good 3 years and I have long healthy hair, and I never touch relaxers. I managed to improve my hair by finding out what works best for my hair. I got alot of help just by reading and watching people on the internet. Sammi certainly has the resources i.e the internet to get some help on her hair type, lots of people have tried to offer her help but she usually says something like "its my hair, I know how to take care of my hair". She earns alot of money off youtube so she can more than afford to pay someone to do her "real" hair" every month, if she doesn't want to do it herself.
what I've found out with my hair is that if I don't moisturise it frequently my hair will break off. Afro hair is very fragile and you just need to be careful about how you handle it and what you put on it. As ChanelMagic said, " its important that your own hair is in good condition". I agree, in that pixiwoo vid she looked really pretty but all I could look at was her damaged hair, and all her dry edges poking out. I really don't get why you pull all the weave to one side?? I wouldn't say she hates her hair, but she must dislike it if she never wears her natural hair, a young woman her age can't even rock her own hair????, she must be really insecure, quite sad actually.

Re: BeautyCrush
Lets be honest, Sam has a big face, and parting her hair the way she is is not helping her. What happened to her fringe? It flattered her face so much. Where is the logic in "hey, I've got a big round face, lets show as much of it as humanly possible!" The way she's parting her hair is bizarre to me, with it y'know, defying gravity and falling into her face every five minutes...I just find myself saying "just part it in the middle! WHY ARE YOU DOING THAT." *sigh*

*defying gravity as much as it can and then giving up and falling in front of her face. Sorry. The other is contradictory.
