Her condo is 1750 sq feet. She says it at 5:20. I don't think that's something she would lie about.

Re: Condos cost?
I don't think anyone was accusing them of lying, just saying that the condos don't appear to be that many square feet. And we (I) also said that it could be the cameras or the layout making them appear smaller.lipsticklushiousGG wrote:Her condo is 1750 sq feet. She says it at 5:20. Really, it's easy to look up the average square feet of those condos if anyone did think they were lying and cared enough. But like you said that's not really something to lie about.

Re: Condos cost?
Ok... I must've misinterpreted the bold... I didn't think she was referring to appearance/camera angles. My bad. No bid deal.Ginger1 wrote:Exactly. My apartment is about 1000 sq ft and theirs don't look that much bigger at all. Mine actually has two full sized bedrooms and baths, a bigger patio, and one walk in closet while their second/guest bedrooms seem tiny. I have nice amenities too, but not in Hollywood and their complex seems newer/ more modern. For some reason I imagine these condos would be hard to sell, but idk. I didn't know they were at the W, so yeah they're paying for the name as well.smashthebox wrote:1700 sq feet? are you kidding me, no way the apartments in the house tours are that big! These are one bedroom and den apartments.
I currently live in about a one bedroom and den and it's under 800 square feet so I can gage how big their condos are approximately, it's say 1000 sq feet at most.

Re: Condos cost?
I could see how her hallway could add 300 square feet alone of usable space really, still have trouble seeing how it's 1750. Unless her balcony is large (they didn't show that) and they used all the space in the closets too.
Re: Condos cost?
Oh well maybe I was wrong she does think they're lying. Should speak for myself lol sorry.lipsticklushiousGG wrote:Ok... I must've misinterpreted the bold... I have a hard time seeing it too, but I also don't think they'd lie. Hmmm. Idk I do think the layouts are kind of odd. With a complex like that it could be that they're technically 1700 sqft, but not really 1700 *usable* square ft. Idk how many units there are, but if it's the W I imagine it's big. One reason I wouldn't want to actually live in Hollywood is the way it's cramped.smashthebox wrote:I could see how her hallway could add 300 square feet alone of usable space really, still have trouble seeing how it's 1750. Re: Condos cost?
Don't be so quick to judge that I think they are "lying" I never said that, if their place is 1750 good for them. I was commenting that I didn't think it LOOKED like it was that big. I have not looked up the floorplans, I am not out to prove that they are lying it doesn't matter to me either way.
Re: Condos cost?
Idk if you were talking to me, but that's almost exactly what I said the first time lol I just didn't know what you meant for sure. I meant "and maybe she thinks..." by the way - not to accuse you.smashthebox wrote:Don't be so quick to judge that I think they are "lying" I never said that, if their place is 1750 good for them. But anyway I agree that they LOOK small. It's the layout I've decided. I checked them out just now and the 17something layout looks kind of cramped. You can't see the full size laid out and they don't appear as roomy as they actually are.
They're really nice condos, but I'd personally want a different layout. Just me, I can't afford them anyway so no matter lol.

Don't forget, general square footage measurements also include bathrooms, closets and patios/balconies.

Re: Condos cost?
So I was doing some research about LA apartments and whatnot (because I'm moving there, not because I'm stalking them), and really if I had their money I wouldn't buy the condos in that location. I mean... they could be living right on the beach =/ Why not take that opportunity? Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Re: Condos cost?
I think I already said this, but I would definitely not chose to live in Hollywood. I was raised close to LA so I'm not blinded by the lights lol. There are much better areas to live in even if you have to work in / want to party in Hollywood.Angie V wrote:So I was doing some research about LA apartments and whatnot (because I'm moving there, not because I'm stalking them), and really if I had their money I wouldn't buy the condos in that location. Yes, there's definitely been a discussion about this. I just never said anything. But getting a closer look at it, it doesn't make sense to me anymore.Ginger1 wrote:I think I already said this, but I would definitely not chose to live in Hollywood. Re: Condos cost?
I would imagine a place like that has lots of security. I'm thinking that may have been a consideration as well. If they purchased their own home, the best they could do would get an alarm system or pay for a gated community which may only have a gatekeeper (if that). In most condo communities there will rarely be cameras and such.
However, at this place, I'm almost certain there are cameras everywhere. And also probably doormen, gatekeepers as well.
I can't see anyone getting in and out of that place without being seen. And that is very important for two young girls now living alone.

Re: Condos cost?
Yes but I'm sure there are places in other parts of the city that also have good security. That cannot be the only building. I mean, rich executives often live in Marina del rey and that area, don't they? They always have security in their buildings. I just personally would rather live somewhere where it feels more like California if I'm living in California... but to each her own. If they like it then good for them!

Re: Condos cost?
Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand why they would need such tight security? They aren't celebrities...
Re: Condos cost?
It might be because they're 2 young females living alone and want to feel safe.Melissa wrote:Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand why they would need such tight security? They aren't celebrities...

They don't 'require' it, it's a perk of living there.Melissa wrote:Young females live alone everywhere and most don't require celebrity-level securitypoppy wrote:It might be because they're 2 young females living alone and want to feel safe.Melissa wrote:Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand why they would need such tight security? Re: Condos cost?
Since they bought it do they plan to raise their kids (if they have them later obviously) there etc? I would have thought they would buy a house back home. It seems more like a short term apartment? Plus I have to admit they look nice but the layout is complete crap. They could have bought a nice home back in TN. But whatever float their boat I guess.

Re: Condos cost?
I doubt it. They can sell it later, it's not really enough space to have any kind of family in long-term. For a visit, yes they have that extra room. But it doesn't have any windows and it's small. These condos are more of a bachelor pad type thing.ohokay wrote:Since they bought it do they plan to raise their kids (if they have them later obviously) there etc? Re: Condos cost?
Blair said in her video that one of the reasons they wanted to buy was as an investment, and also because they were putting heaps of money into paying rent, when they could be putting that same money towards a mortgage and something that they own.
It is totally reasonable. Obviously Blair and Elle aren't in a place in their life where marriage/kids are close to be on the horizon. I am sure as they grow up they will either rent out or sell the apartments. I think it was a smart move.
