Re: Samantha March Pt 2
Sam actually bought herself a full size ND palette. I guess her hinting to her subscribers wasn't working fast enough so she finally bought one herself. Wasn't it only 6 months ago that she was preaching about her changed shopping habits and how she's more mindful about the makeup she buys?

Was thinking this too - she did her whole “mindset and makeup” series but tell me how she’s following it...? She bought Biba and PMG Divine Rose within 2 months of each other. ND Glam. ND Bronze. The Charlotte Tilbury highlight. Like girl...Takeabow15 wrote:Sam actually bought herself a full size ND palette. Re: Samantha March Pt 2
I'm not convinced she actually bought them herself. She mentioned having a gift card for one of her orders. And I wouldn't be surprised if her viewers were sending her palettes and gift cards with all the begging she does.velvetmuse wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 8:00 amWas thinking this too - she did her whole “mindset and makeup” series but tell me how she’s following it...? Yeah, at least for the PMG palette, she mentioned having a big Sephora gift card that she put towards the haul. Not sure if it was the $100 gift card that she was finally able to trade her points for or if it was one she got sent. I think she also got it during a sale, so definitely got it for a fraction of the regular price.
I still find it a bit jarring to see her with all these super expensive products, because I remember when she used to make a much bigger deal out of way less expensive purchases. She's definitely still into not-so-subtle begging and she gets a lot of PR, so that probably explains a lot of it.

Re: Samantha March Pt 2
True and her constant shilling and humble-begging off her subscribers deserves many of its own threads (don’t forget we are coming up on the anniversary of the Beautylish Lucky Bag and the story that won’t die about her husband losing his job). I think it’s that PLUS the lack of regard for the optics of her constant spending — when she’s low on cash she’s all about talking about minimalism; when she’s flush with cash or getting gift cards from Sephora and from subs, she suddenly doesn’t care so much about scaling back. Kinda shows she only engaged in pseudo-minimalism content to jump on a trend this year, not because she actually cares about it.facepainter wrote:Yeah, at least for the PMG palette, she mentioned having a big Sephora gift card that she put towards the haul. Re: Samantha March Pt 2
Yup, it was easy to see through her faux minimalism once she mentioned still being thousands of dollars in debt while also posting hauls. Sam is a spend-it girl and the only thing holding her back from the over the top consumerism of the OG youtubers is her lack of funds. I predict a low-end designer bag in the not too distant future.velvetmuse wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 8:12 amTrue and her constant shilling and humble-begging off her subscribers deserves many of its own threads (don’t forget we are coming up on the anniversary of the Beautylish Lucky Bag and the story that won’t die about her husband losing his job). In a recent video, she brought up the Lucky Bag and asked whether she should buy one. I commented to say yes.

Re: Samantha March Pt 2
Anyone else noticing her nonsense on Instagram stories? She has had computer issues for as long as I can remember following her and they continue to this day. Remember the fiasco last year with her laptop, and the weeks-long sob story about the shitty Best Buy employees? She posts incessantly about her computers crashing and how it causes bad mental health days for her and disrupts her work flow. But she continues to buy what appear to be some of the cheapest HP laptops on the market for herself. She has probably spent well over the cost of a good laptop like a Mac in the last few months alone, but isn’t it just like her to resist actually investing in her at-home businesses, and prefer to whine about it instead? Probably hoping a generous subscriber will gift a Best Buy gift card to her PO Box, lol

Ha! You are right!!! She was soooo upset those mean ole Best Buy workers made comments about her body when she walks around in public dressed like a stripper.velvetmuse wrote:Anyone else noticing her nonsense on Instagram stories? She's probably emailing Apple begging them to send her a free MACBOOK Pro in exchange for a video, lol. She wants her channel to grow but she still sits on a stool with no table in front of her to film.

Re: Samantha March Pt 2
I live kind of near her, if she is strutting around the best buy in ames with her stripper clothes then no wonder the best buy employees would laugh at her. Luckily for them it's getting cold now so she will have to cover up a bit lol. Also I've been to that best buy many times, the employees have always been very friendly and helpful. She might be going down to des moines though, although I'm sure the employees treat her the same no matter what store. I couldn't imagine trying to deal with her computer issues over and over again if I were themsmartypants80 wrote:Ha! You are right!!! Re: Samantha March Pt 2
I saw a few comments in her last video telling her to do a Korean skincare haul. Lol that would be a disaster. I don't see her being able to make one without coming across as racist. The few times I've heard her talk about Korean skincare it's always had this undertone of, "Eww what is this weird Asian stuff?" She did it again this video when talking about the Cosrx snail toner. There are plenty of Western skincare products that she uses with animal byproducts in them, so she's going to come off as a hypocrite and borderline racist if she keeps talking about Asian products with this attitude of "this stuff is sooooo gross, you guys!"

I can absolutely see her taking that tone. It all stems from her profound ignorance. Anything outside her white bread, Starbucks, Applebee’s, white girl chick lit is weird and foreign.facepainter wrote:I saw a few comments in her last video telling her to do a Korean skincare haul. I use that Cosrx snail mucin and it's fantastic! Calms and soothes my skin like nothing else. She could probably use something to help with her horrible pizza skin.facepainter wrote:I saw a few comments in her last video telling her to do a Korean skincare haul. Lol that would be a disaster. Me too! It’s a perfect makeup base too. She would be like “I don’t know what an essence is” and “I don’t know what snail mucin is” “let me not do any research whatsoever and instead talk out of my ass and hope YesStyle or my subscribers send me free products”smartypants80 wrote:I use that Cosrx snail mucin and it's fantastic! Re: Samantha March Pt 2
Right, it's a great product! She finally got herself a bottle after apparently having it recommended to her a bunch of times, but from the way she mentioned the snail ingredient, no way would she be able to make a whole dedicated video about Korean skincare and not end up looking like an ass. It's natural to be surprised by what other cultures do if you're not used to it, but there's a way to do it without being disrespectful, and I don't think she has the common sense to realize how rude it is to act like other cultures' skincare is disgusting.smartypants80 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 28, 2020 5:57 pmI use that Cosrx snail mucin and it's fantastic! Re: Samantha March Pt 2
Or instead of being able to just informatively share the ingredients, she would be like making it out to be some kind of novelty (ohh wow look at what The Koreans use) when in reality it’s commonplace, just not her usual “drop into an American Sephora and grab a random Ole Henrikson bottle” ~expertise~. I hope I’m making sense lmao basically shes up shits creek when she’s not talking about some basic AF over-marketed mainstream USA brand.facepainter wrote:Right, it's a great product!
