Off topic: From my own personal understanding, yes the vagina regulates itself in terms of cleanliness and ph. However, as much as we equate unpleasant odor with uncleanliness, the body doesnt. Your vagina may be perfectly balanced and clean, but still emit a slight odor (it's part of the process of returning to level ph, as ph changes during different parts of a woman's cycle), which is why a lot of women prefer to use vagisil or soap to give it a 'clean' anyway rather than leave it alone. That's not to say that you can go years without cleaning it and it will be fine (though some do beleive this is the case).

Also yes, you are definitely not transgender because you were curious about what was in the boys' restroom as a child. I've heard many stories of kids, both boys and girls, making up all kinds of exciting things that would happen in their respective restrooms. Haha.
