I just left her some constructive criticism on her latest makeup atrocity and low and behold my comment gets deleted. This women has some serious self esteem problems because my comment wasn't even worded bitchy, she is just so arrogant that she can't accept a little advise from someone with an outside perspective. I'm sorry but a makeup artist who cannot adjust makeup to suit the models eye shape is no true makeup artist. The recent cat eye she just posted looked absolutely horrendous on the model, not only did it make her eyes look small it also dragged them down making them look droopy. I commented saying that it looked as if this eyeshadow was more suited to Marlena eye shape then the model and that she either needs to adjust the eyeshadow to fit the model or choose a model that has eyes that would suit the look. Well that didn't go down well with the little minions. I'm so sick and tired of reading comment after comment from little girls who like to kiss her arse and tell her how fantastic and talented she is. I like to give credit where it is due and I'm not about to kiss someones arse just so I can get thumbs up on the comments list. I've supported her company by purchasing her makeup line and it pisses me of when she can't even accept the smallest of criticism. Anyway I unsubscribed, I dunno why I was even subscribed I never wear any of the looks she creates, they are much to porn star for my liking, I do enjoy the makeup line but personally I think she should give up doing tutorials, if you can't hack a little bit of constructive criticism then you have no place being on youtube.

Yea, there were a ton of comments talking about how that makeup was bad for the models face shape. I agree, it would have looked better on Marlenas eye shape. But beyotches will be beyotches.

We're not trying to 'get a rise out of her', we're trying to make her see that she's acting like a child. We're not doing it out of spite just to piss her off.
When I see something I don't like you better believe it I'm gonna say something about it. I don't like her attitude so I'm gonna call her out on it. She read my comments, she deleted them like the immature being she is. I've said my peace.
The problem with Marlena is that she has hundreds of näive little girls backing her up: that's where she hides. When someone offers some sort of criticism they're automatically labeled haters. That's a 13 year old way of thinking. Marlena is more than double that age, she should act like a damn grown up. I'm 22 years old and I have a bigger set of balls than she does. It's ridiculous. This woman is a joke.

Don't get me wrong, crap make up skills, terrible fashion advice, zero relevance in terms of the broader cosmetics industry because she does nothing but push her own crap on everyone, questionable honesty when it comes to surgery/enhancements she's had and she has no business giving weight loss / diet advice (she claims people kept asking. the correct response should have been - talk to your health care professional) and her behaviour is immature for someone who claims to be so proud of her progress.

I guess I just think that even though this is a gossip site, we can maintain a higher level of integrity and are more likely to get others to question the wisdom of these so called gurus by giving practical examples of calling out guru BS without trying to instigate it in the first place.

And I do know this is the trash section! It's why I come here. I've learned more about gurus to watch/avoid, improving my make up skills etc by reading this website than I have from watching Marlena or any of the others - with the exception of Lisa Eldridge, Charlotte Tilbury et al. I have great big girl crushes on those women!

Which comments are you talking about? What you are talking about is trolling. Have people been doing that? The only one I know who posted was kathpt and that was only in reply to Marlenas own "Suck it haters" IG. It seems like anything anyone posts that she deems "negative" gets a rise out of her, so do people just not call her out? I don't think it's wrong for people to post their criticisms on her social media if they aren't ugly about it, like calling her names.

Just because someone offers you criticism it doesn't mean they're being a 'hater'. I wasn't trolling or being rude, I was just simply calling her out on her childish manners. If she wants to label me as a hater or a troll it just means she's tricking herself into thinking she's a victim. And that's sad. Sad sad sad.

That poor girl with the cat eye makeup, that was just atrocious. Marlena's getting bitchy in her comments to any one who doesn't like it saying not every look is a winner but her makeup skills don't suck and people complain when she does light "fluffy" looks so she did something creative. That was not creative, it was crap. As a "business woman" you would think she would put out quality work to represent her brand and not settle for crap. One makeup tutorial doesn't even take an hour to do and she doesn't even film or edit them!

She also insulted every guru who films in their bedroom with out a studio or good lighting saying that would be easy for her and we should appreciate her camera angels? Oh really, at least those girls do their own work and don't have assistants doing it all for them. She is one lazy arrogant woman, I bet her staff hates her.
