Re: Beneath the Glitter
Went to Target a week ago and I saw the book. I read a couple of pages and it's just horrible. It was almost $18 at my Target. This book is just gosh awful, there's nothing amazing and spectacular about this book.
On the front cover, I noticed Elle's lazy eye is really noticeable

Re: Beneath the Glitter
I swear I posted this article in here, but now I can't find it. But at the bottom of the first page the author shares "The two worked closely with a ghostwriter to produce a young-adult novel due out in September, part of a two-book deal they hope will become a series." The article is from June 2012.

So yeah, if it is successful there will be even more of them. You have to admire their hustle if nothing else. Yeah sure they may be vapid and shallow but they know how to scratch and claw their way onto anything that will make them a household name. Too bad they lack any real talent.

I didn't realize the bullies were that bad to her. That kind of made me feel bad.Bullies repeatedly egged and poured acidic wood cleaner over the brand-new car she received for her 16th birthday -- she had to get the body of the vehicle replaced three separate times in the first three months she owned it.
That was definitely an interesting article, but it didn't make them seem likeable haha.
I don't think I'll be able to sit through their videos much longer if there are going to be more Beneath the Glitter books. The amount they talk about them now drives me crazy as it is.

what does this have to do with anything? all this is going to do is cause their preteen fans feel inadequate that they wear a size 4 and don't work out. And really, who likes to sweat. Both wear a size double zero and have perky, piercing voices, so how do you tell them apart?
Elle, 24, is blond and doesn't like to sweat; Blair, 19, is brunette and works out five days a week.
I'd be embarrassed if this was how i was spending my journalism degree, writing articles like this. this article is on par with things i've read from sugarscape or the daily mail.
& i'm not doubting that blair was bullied, but a lot of celebrities tend to throw that word around... and i mean, we're only getting one side of the story. Both, elle and blair, seem to have a chip on their shoulder, and i wouldnt doubt for one minute that either one of them walked around acting like they were better than anyone and everyone at their schools.

Atlanta Book Signing (I wonder what the Cellaris pictures were for, against that backdrop, and if they got to keep them or had to pay for them)

Re: Beneath the Glitter
Same here! Why didn't Blair mention this in her "through the years - 10th grade" video, when she mentions the bullying? I feel that a lot of people played it off because getting your house tee-peed with toilet paper really isn't bad at all...although it is a bitch to clean up, I'm sure! The point is, I feel like Blair didn't want to go too in-depth about her experiences with bullying because they were painful, which is fine, but she didn't tell us how bad it really was!ccc wrote:

Re: Beneath the Glitter
replacing the body of the car 3 times? after the first time, she could have just taken the bus. why is this the first time we hear of this anyway, hasn't she done a bazillion videos about how she was bullied in school?

Re: Beneath the Glitter
Haha, thanks for the link! If I saw any advert like that I'd never even consider buying the product. Most of the video is them talking about themselves!xoxod wrote:Did anyone else see their ad for it before a video? I was just watching a makeup tutorial and the ad was both of them saying that Beneath the Glitter was so much fun for them to work on and it sounds so freaking fake. Obviously it's an ad, but they sound like they're reading write off of a teleprompter. Gosh, if you're going to get more people to buy your ghostwritten book you should at least try and make it seem believable.
Here's the link to the ad-
They sound so damn fake. The thing I love even more though, is the top comment that says "OMG… lame"
At least we're not the only ones that think that.
