Wasn’t Rufus the cat in The Rescuers and Emmerson the dog in Chitty Chitty?
Awful names.
Awful names.

Lol i actually really like Rufus, though this other annoying Aussie youtube family 'Life With Beans' have a 2yr old Rufus and yep he gets called Roofie Emmerson i really hate though.
I actually think their flat in London was quite reasonable, yeah it's more expensive than what you'd pay for the same anywhere else, but it's London. You know they paying more for their house in Bath anyway, "priced out" is such bullshit. It seems big too, bigger than my house anyway.

I am legitimately disappointed in the name they chose.

I do think it's rude to comment on those posts saying the name is ugly or whatever. If I named my child something and someone told me that they hated it, I'd think they were a massive dick. It's one thing to say it here, where they'd have to go looking for criticism, but to post it under the pic of them announcing the name is dead wanky IMO.
I don't like Rufus either.

Hah I was going to say! What would his nickname be? Although it wouldn't surprise me if they thought it was 'cool/hip' to call their son Roofie.. lol Another user said he might be nicknamed Roo which is much cuter.auntiflo13 wrote:.........you just know they're going to nickname him 'Roofie' which is the slang name for the drug Rohypnol ......... I honestly don't think they've thought this name through !
I agree, I'm also not a fan of the name And I do think it's a bit... unfortunate.. To me it's a name you'd name a pet, like many mentioned above.. Tbh the first thing that popped into my head when I read the name was.. Rufus? Like the naked mole rat from kim possible?
I wonder what their son will think of his name when he's older

Honestly I like the name Rufus... reminds me of Rufus Wainwright!
So they have their own little Greyson Perry and Rufus Wainwright! Haha! They share their names with Two excellent artists though...

Re: Hannah Maggs / The Michalaks - Part 2
Makes me think of Rufus from Gossip Girl lol. Such an awful name for that baby, doesn't suit him
Re: Hannah Maggs / The Michalaks - Part 2
What a terrible name. It's sounds so try hard and pretentious. And the best bit, 'Roofie' the name of a date rape drug, brilliant.
Re: Hannah Maggs / The Michalaks - Part 2
If they shorten it to Roo then I quite like it. I have my own child's name in mind, and that could be shortened to Roo. Rufus on its own though is too much, and really switching the order to Emmerson Rufus would have been better.

Stef's just announced the vlog will be late today....is he desperately editing out the parts where he and Hannah call the baby 'Roofie'?

Re: Hannah Maggs / The Michalaks - Part 2
I like the name Rufus a lot! However, Emerson with two M's looks weird.
Re: Hannah Maggs / The Michalaks - Part 2
TBH I do find Emmerson a thousand times more offensive than Rufus. But American boys' names really aren't my thing so I would say that.
