I'm pretty sure they live near South Kensington around Thurloe Square. A two-bedroom flat in that area can cost between £600-£900 per week to rent. Their flat isn't modern so probably falls on the lower end but still very expensive. And there's no need for them to live in London. They just use it as a base to travel within Europe. Despite their stuck up background and incompetence in English, London still suits them better than other European cities to live on a longer term. As I said a while ago, I believe they claim living expenses - rent, council tax and everything from their company for tax/vat reduction. They have a company registered in the UK. Maybe that's their way of claiming vat back from their other expenses as well. Living in London probably helps with expanding their fan and customer base and it's part of "look at me I've done well with my company" image. Like everyone else here, I don't think they take away the money from Luxy Hair as much per month to afford this lifestyle. My friend got a flat down King's Road and that's one of the most prestigious postcodes in England if not just London. I guesstimate her husband and she earn roughly £300k per year altogether. Without family inheritance, they'd struggle with this sort of lifestyle too.
I keep hearing the "travel guru" Alex says he'll film a video about finding travel deals but he never does. I don't think he's got one either. They often travel to the same places every year so they can easily use the same airlines and earn miles that way, hence business class. For fancy villas, Alex once said he looks on Airbnb and calls local agents for cheaper prices. I used to work for Airbnb a few years ago. They didn't need to offer discount or pay Z listers for advertisement. They were already so well established and fast growing back then. Things could have changed now. I've seen they work with some Youtubers every now and then but I don't think they'd work with Mimi and Alex - the lesser known and not-so-hippy-but-try-very-hard.

Oh what a coincidence that her and Alex suddenly now post them both holding their nephew! But only AFTER their sheep fans kept bugging them about why they havnt yet!
Re: Mimi and "Not a Youtuber" Alex Ikonn - Part 2
anyways, I just find their worldview to be rather narrow, no? Mimi and Alex don\'t generally appreciate the culture of the city or even its history, yet go straight to taking pictures of sunsets and sunrises everyday. They've lived in London for the longest time and don\'t give any regards to a city (and honestly the UK is a great place to travel) they\'ve lived in. But it\'s also a shitty place to live if you have seasonal or clinical depression- the sun never shines. Her worldview appears to be extremely compact after becoming extremely wealthy in a rather short period of time. I don\'t think her parents had much money growing up (which might explain her disrespect to her parents, which I find appalling) and Alex apparently sold flowers on the street for some time. Unfortunately, they forgot to stay humble, and it doesn\'t take a genius to realize they\'ve become snobs. In her Positano vlog, Mimi apparently broke her fifth Canon vlog camera (which is 500-1000) and Alex just went to go get another one. She posts more expensive things on her monthly favorites, and is maybe trying to gear her fan base to a wealthy cult following. In essence, she\'s forgetting her roots and hoping money can buy happiness. \n\nAlso, can\'t they both just work remotely and travel all over the world if they wanted

I second this not only because it's so funny but bc both of them have changed their real names from Maryam to Mimi and Ikonnicov to Ikonn.vengal69_+ wrote:Maryam & Alex "Con"qwerty888 wrote:We need a new thread for these two. Any suggestions?

Can't say I'm surprised their speaking event wasn't sold out.. in surprised anyone even showed up! Lol what qualifications do these two have anyway. I guess all you need to do is act like u know better and at some point there'll be ppl who will buy it and think that you actually do know better
Re: Mimi and "Not a Youtuber" Alex Ikonn - Part 2
Why is it whenever they're in Positano she has to say the name of the town in every sentence? It's not like I'm going to forget where they are by the end of a 30 minute video. She did that in the previous ones as well. Is it a luxury location and she's geo-name dropping or what?
"Here in Positano..."
"Alexa Love loves it in Positano..."
"They don't have sand on the beaches in Positano, they have Positano Pebbles..."
"The stairs are everywhere in Positano and when we come to Positano we take the Positano stairs. There are a lot a Positano stairs!"
"We love this restaurant we go to whenever we visit Positano, which is where we are right now, in Positano! About to go to our favorite Positanian restaurant, which is situated on a set of stairs in stairy Positano! Did I mention we were in Positano? Because that's where we are! Beautiful Positano!"
FFS woman give it a rest.

Remember back when they said they were in Positano so much, giving it soooooo much publicity, that they thought they should be getting paid by the town for promoting it?

I don't follow Mimi very well but wow what a rude comment.vengal69_+ wrote:It seems that way. Im sure they make good money but i doubt they are "millionaires". Their extensions are way too crappy and tangly to make them that rich. And their planner is nothing special. I've seen better ones. And her bingo book is poorly written! If they lived in the USA, mimi would surely have to resort to highway hand jobs or escort in downtown SF or Manhattan to pay for their lavish lifestyle. I find it interesting they hardly visit the US. if they had to pay for US healthcare, they surely wouldnt have as much of a comfortable lifestyle.emmagossiper wrote:vengal69_ Yeah it seems to be true that their airbnb is paid. But what it comes to rent I think it's much cheaper in Italy for example. And food as well.
London is one of the most expensive cities in the world as well as Toronto, and I'm pretty sure she doesn't go to the NHS for her healthcare. From what I recall she pays for her healthcare privately.

Just watching Layla's new house tour. Looks tiny- I know Toronto is super expensive so she's done well. Looks like a duplex does anyone know where it is? Is it Richmond hill still- wonder how much she payed (for no reason other than I love looking at real estate and am nosy).

I think they're still in the Vaughan area, could be wrong though. I have a feeling they paid no less than $700K given Toronto shit real estate these days.jassie_gal_au wrote:Just watching Layla's new house tour. Idk why, but I️ hate the pants they always have Alexa wear. For the most part, her outfits are weird and ugly. I️t would be nice to see her in cuter clothes.
