Yes I remember that too. They said something like they don´t own their child and Mimi just wants to be Alexas mentor as she herself never had a mentor and had to figure out everything by herself. I mean it is nice to give your child more and more freedom as it grows up but this seems to be so weird to me.

Are they both so cold or is it just Alex manipulating Mimi? I was shocked when Mimi talked about her emotions during the birth of Alexa and Alex just said: "I was completely calm." I guess I would be calm as well when I meet someone I will mentor one day :?

She sees her child as an extention of herself this is called narsarsistic qualities of parents sadly. She'd rather be a "friend" to her child than a mother.[/quote]

Yes and that is in my opinion also the reason for ALEXas name.

Alex and Mimi have been uploading Instagram stories from their Luxy Hair HQ / office in Toronto.. I see footage of 40+ staff but I don't see a single Black employee amongst them???? Also their hiring staff for Luxy Hair and on the online application form you MUST provide a photo with your application... Is this used to discriminate against and filter out Blacks???

Wouldnt be surprised. Having to show a photo in itself does seem a bit discriminating. We all know that good looks do get you hired "more likely" in the real world BUT when a company makes it obvious that they are discriminating isnt good. Unless the job title discription is clearly listed for image/modeling related, this is no good.

No way...that is insane. I don't understand how that is legal in Canada (it is illegal in the US)

I don't understand why people, including her, are acting like Alexa is walking super early...all the kids I've ever been around could do this holding a hand around 8-9 months... it's pretty normal...

"The Canadian Human Rights Act (CHRA) prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender, race, ethnicity, age and a number of other grounds."
Well, they're definitely breaking the law if they are using pictures to filter out darker skinned people (seriously, no one in the picture alex posted a few months back appears to be darker than tan. I smell a lawsuit coming (hopefully)..... also it's crazy how they ask for a photo with an application when they themselves are average-looking at the most. Mimi is starting to look older the Leyla due to all that sun damage, and someone needs to get Alex a new pair of glasses, as a fellow-glasses wearer.

Luxy Hair Instagram is even more shocking. There's probably three Asian girls on that page in the past two years and not other colours. I never looked at that account before until now. The lack of diversity is disgraceful considering the two female founders aren't white.

Ps. Be prepared for pictures of diverse races or removal of images as part of job applications as soon as they read this forum. Like Mimi just said "Mama" to Alexa on her insta stories today.

I think they're hiring people based on European beauty standards (fair skin, light coloured long blonde-ish hair, etc). Not trying to justify, I think it's very wrong. I'm not surprised though. Mimi is constantly putting more blonde in her hair, talks about how straight hair is perfect (in her own words) and hates curly hair. I wouldn't be surprised if she's actually hiring people based on their looks.

Mimi always looks older than Leyla. I remember a Q&A video from about five years ago that they did together. Someone asked who's the older one between the two sisters. Mimi quickly jumped right into the question saying she's the younger one. She was clearly offended. She's haggard looking. No radiance from the positive, grateful life she pretends to lead.

Strange that ombré blonde hair extensions make her look cheaper and trashier. It just looks fake like her personality.

Leyla mentioned both of her pregnancies were accidents.

Mimi said she had a kid because her sister had one.
:o :o OMG! Did Mimi really say that? That's so crazy! I agree with everyone that she seems pretty miserable so I highly doubt she will have another baby despite Leyla having two and she really shouldn't given their lifestyle and not wanting to accommodate for a child.

I know everyone on here seems to think Demetri is pretty amazing but he is no different than Leyla. The reason why they are together is because they have the same beliefs and outlook on life. If you have ever watched him on youtube or seen his instastories, then you will know what I am talking about. He spews out the same hokey beliefs like Leyla does about "sending out vibes to the universe" and calling babies "humans" or "beings" . They really are well matched. Also, I find this hilarious but he has really bad online reviews/ratings from his previous students. A lot of his previous students say he is lazy.

Not surprised since their extensions do not have versatile textures like other better brands. They only sell one texture (straight) and cheap LOW grade chinese remy mixed with sythetic fiber hairs. So other ethnicity of woman cant wear them because their cheap hair only markets to women with straight hair and guess who that mainly refers to?

naomi104 wrote:So according to Mimi's Instagram, she was a model up until she turned 13 when she stopped growing in height?

Did she mean she was actually a model or "her dream to be a model" was over? I bet the latter.

She wanna promote body confidence but she keeps standing on tip toes to look taller. A bit of an irony, isn't it? She also photoshops her pics to death, even the one of Alexa weeks ago when she got a spot near her mouth. Even her baby has to have "perfect" skin on Instagram.

Sort yourself out Mimi, your life is full of contradictions.

And give your daughter proper toys, not rubbish from the bin.
LOL please! That ish wasn't a model. She's shorter than she says she is. She is not taller than 5'3 probably 5'2". Theres ppl on other forums who saw her in person in london saying her legs are super short and big and that shes very short in person and also saying she looks chubby in person. Not bashing short woman or thick legs but as a model most demand 5'7" or taller and longer leaner legs. So shes full of it (unless she was a model for porn or lingerie- they may accept shorter and fuller figure woman). Shes stupid cause she doesnt realize that when woman get their period, that plays a big role in when you stop growing. Shes a wanna be all the way and so annoying. She stands on her tippy toes to fake being taller and slimmer but forgets how to hide it the right way or disguise her chubby cankles. She should just wear high heals and wider bottom pants if she wants to "appear" slimmer and taller. Those tight camel toe jeans are too tight for her and does not do anything for her figure.

I don't think she said that explicitly but she said in one of the older videos that she was shocked when leyla told her she was pregnant. She exclaimed something like "what!!" And obviously since Mimi got married earlier than her sister she probably felt left out than she didn't have any kid yet. I sensed an urgency in her as she got pregnant right after. And also if you see her earlier videos where she announced she was pregnant she was like well alex always wanted one but she wasn't ready blah blah. So yeah I think she had a baby cuz her sis had one. And the fact that she hasn't posted any single photo with her niece or nephew shows she is jealous of her sister being ahead of her.

Thank you for pointing that out about Demetri. I agree that he is no better off than the other three jerks alex, mimi, leyla. He is shallow as he is always saying how beautiful his wife is. He praises that his wife cooks immediately after giving birth but have never seen him helping his wife out in terms of cooking or anything with the kids. I understand leyla is a housewife but I think a man should help out. I also think he is dirty as he doesn't shower in the morning and just puts deo and heads out the door. Oh and btw the only person I like amongst these people is leyla' ex. I dunno why but I think he is very real, genuine, humble and funny. Lucky that he found his way out of this shit!

Guys I've noticed from people with soviet/post soviet background that a lot of families have those tendencies. Partners (especially women)are married and got children just because society told them. I've heard that so many times like girls said like oh I'm 25,27,30 I need husband/ kids. Some even get random husbands ( like literally known each other for 6month and get pregnant). Also if siblings got kids, other feels pressure.family and even random people ask often why you aren't married or have a kid. Literally everyone that I know got kids because it's part of social status, like you're not a woman if you don't have kids. At the same time nobody give a shit about kids themselves ( I mean mentally, not financially). And kids usually spend all time with grandmothers. There's interesting fact/joke about soviet/Russian families that almost every kid raised by monogender parents- mother and grandmother. Usually fathers don't take part in raising kids.

Interesting that you say all of this cause you'd think Alex and Mimi would go against all of that since they try so hard to "be different" and go against alot of things. Maybe they're just the same type of sheep like so many others after all?

Maybe they're trying to be different, but deep down all this bullshit is sitting inside them. You know humans are like computers we have out algorithms from childhood and if you're not aware it's hard to notice. Plus Mimi doesn't have close relationships with parents so for sure it affect her relationship with a baby. Also does Alex have a father?

Today Mimi's mom posted on Instagram about a woman who gifted Mimi books and music from Azerbaijan in the France meetup. Of course Mimi gave the gifts to her mom bc she completely does not acknowledge that she's Middle Eastern but claims she's European and from London  Anyways, it made me sad that her mom was referring to Azerbaijan and saying "my culture" and how she looks forward to teaching her grandkids about "her" culture. It's weird and sad because both Mimi and Leyla were born in azerbaijan and the family immigrated to Canada not when they were kids but almost adults. It's a missed opportunity for mimi to have taught her daughter Azeri. I'm surprised they are even teaching Alexa Russian given how much they want to pass as European. I guess when you look white you can easily ignore and dismiss the fact that you are from a different country or cultural background. Too bad Mimi's accent and poor grammar give away that she's a foreigner. If she had her way, she'd prevent her mother from posting about Azerbaijan or the relatives in hijab. I like her mom. She seems really sweet and loving.
