Welp, I guess I'm in the minority then. I really don't feel comfortable with what's going on here, so I'm just gonna hop back onto lurker status until more comes to light. *bows*

@T_F - I don't think we're doing anything particularly wrong at the moment? I know I personally haven't contributed to any youtube strife - I consumed the videos and saved my comments for the forum. In any event I hope you come back out of lurkerdom soon and tell us why you feel uncomfortable?

@moran and TFL - I absolutely don't get why she's blaming us - there's maybe less than 200 regulars with accounts who visit this particular section, maybe less? We aren't powerful enough to scare up six hundred dislikes on her videos; we're just damn good with deductions. Better take a closer look at the overreactions , 'cause not everyone in M'plier fandom's going to automatically agree with him and thumb her video up just because he begged them to. I'm pretty sure a jealous teenager with an axe to grind who's convinced she's going to be banging Mark is more likely to thumbs down her stuff than any of us.

In any event none of us linked her account out; Mark did that to over 5 thousand plus people on his Tumblr and thousands more on his Facebook. Blame the wider audience for heaven's sake.

I'm honest in saying I feel bad for her and don't wish her harm (and sympathize to a degree with the depression she's suffered through ), but good lord is she not perfect. None of us are.

I'm not really upset, per se. I do agree that I don't really believe anything jess says, but it just seems like evertone is furious with Mark, and while I am suspicious and disappointed, I am not as angry I guess? It just makes me feel out of my place.

I stated my case in my previous wall of text lol, there may be more than what we see right now and I think everyone may be jumping so conclusions quickly.

P.S. I still think you guys are great, just that I don't fit in right now.

I may the only one here, but I don't think Jess's content or view count is in relation to Mark himself. Despite getting advertised by Mark, her videos have nothing to do with him. They are in a different category then Let's Plays so I'm not one to comment on the material themselves. It's only appropriate that with the more views she has the more dislikes start to come as well. But like I stated, the content or reasons for her likes and dislikes I can't comment on because I'm not knowledgable on ASMR. The only concern I see is that she wants to be her own person, but the fact that Markipler promoted her will make that all the more difficulty.

Hey, don't feel left out! I'm probably the least angry and suspicious person on the board right now - ie, I'm not either of those things over this - and I'm here. I know people are really emotional right now, and maybe this stuff is difficult/upsetting to read, but I don't think anyone wants to see yet another person feel excluded in all of this if they don't have to.

If you don't feel comfortable participating right now, it's cool - just know you're welcome here, ok? I'm always here and happy to talk in PMs or whatever if you need a little positive balance to all the negativity we're working through here. But don't feel left out. All perspectives are welcome.

Oh and quick RE her views - her dislikes seem to be spiking as the day goes on, and judging from the hits the majority of the audience Mark attracted to her videos checked out the first one and bailed.

To be frank, she's getting 600 to 700 plus dislikes per video. That's roughly the number of people who checked the first video and, like I said above, bailed versus sticking around and subbing. Compare that to the membership size here and you can only . None of us are so devoted to the wank that we'd create our own botnet to take you down, Jess. Your problem's far more likely to be a bunch of jealous Markiteenies.

Is it possible that people that are disliking her videos (or anyones) really may be just stupid trolls that didn't even watch the video and just like to bully others? I don't get why watch videos of people you don't like honestly but eh whatever. I wish there was more control on trolls and bullies honestly but that won't ever happen. :/ It's nice that some boards are strict about some things but sites like deviantart doesn't care.

Anyway also it could be jealous Mark fans hitting the dislike video.

Yeah another thing that sours my like-ness for Mark is hearing he possibly wasn't great with her, but then again it's just a speculation, or someone is over dramaticing things. I always hear it takes two to fight so who knows. Mark can be pretty damn scary when he's REALLY mad in video games XD It's like "O____O;...heh heh...."

I get that. For all its frankness, GG can be a bit on edge sometimes. I don't blame you for stepping back, as I've done it myself here a few times. But you'll always fit in here. We all disagree on a bunch of this stuff and some have had to take a breather, but I appreciate the fact it's still fairly civil. We're all a bunch of misfits here, but that's what makes us stronger.

And I'm not angry, as I mentioned before, just very disappointed. Mark finally broke the silence after 2 1/2 years, but in such a way that it condemned the portion of his fanbase that had already been harshly bullied on tumblr for asking the "forbidden question". And now that I think about it, I've never actually seen such an innocent question met with such hatred by any other celebrity's fanbase, ever. And we're talking Hollywood-level stars, not a Youtuber who still isn't that well-known outside of the gaming world.

Unfortunately, his silence paved the way for his own fandom to react in such a volatile fashion every damn time someone asked if he was single. He saw it and did nothing. Until now, that is. And when he did, it was in such a way that those same fans now feel justified to attack anyone who ever had a passing interest in this mundane question of whether he had a girlfriend. So yeah, not angry at him, just disappointed. It's those pretentious fans who keep posting hateful, violent things about anyone who dared to ask that Forbidden Question and "sullied their cinnamon roll" I'm angry at.

Others here are angry, but that's a real and valid response to this too. Much of that anger sprang from hurt, and no one can deny his words were passively caustic. Like he doesn't get why it was a big deal, when his utter silence the past few years tell us he thought it actually was a big deal. That hurt has also bred mistrust, of his motives and his future actions. And despite the tumblrites who keep throwing shade at GG, the fact they keep lurking here tells me they not only know exactly what we're talking about, but that some of them are hurt, angry and mistrustful over this too...and it has nothing to do with Jess.

And it's true that there most likely is more going on behind the scenes at this point. And that's exactly the problem.

eah, I have to say reading different things about Mark here is making me view him differently. That's fine, I want to know what he's like. Sad to think, but he does seem like a dick a bit :/ I am not one of those people that loves bad boys/strong kick ass women. I like down to earth, nice people, that are mature, kind, but that would be asking too much I guess. Quite frankly, I wouldn't date a guy like him. Unless Mark changed into the guy I thought he was maybe but right now, no. Sorry, bad boy images don't work for me. I had to tell my guy friend that. He thought girls like bad boys. Way to generalize things.

Hun, lemme tell ya': asking for a nice, mature, down to earth person as your SO is not asking too much, at all. People like that are indeed out there, and you'll surely find someone who matches those traits, is attractive to you and vice versa, AND more!!! It's just hard to find sometimes. You might even just run into someone and find a great match, when you weren't even looking! Honestly, that's what happened to me a few months ago. Long story short, I was getting extremely frustrated with online dating, so was about to give up. One evening, I met this guy at a karaoke party with friends, and didn't think much of him at first because I was heartbroken over someone at the time. We started talking over FB and decided to go on a date. The rest was history, and we've been very happy since. He's extremely sweet, funny, smart, mature, likes the nerdy things I like, and a cutie! Sometimes, you just get lucky. Don't give up!!! Dogs are great too but they're a lot of work! Almost any pet is like having a child.

Like some of you, I held Mark to a high degree in the beginning, and I had a huge crush on him. I still find him attractive, but I'm questioning parts of his personality. When you first find someone you like, everything seems great.. Until you actually get to know them. You could still like them a lot, but maybe there's some things you wouldn't be able to handle. I'll throw myself under the bus by saying this: when I was single, I wondered what it'd be like to seriously date him. And honestly, I don't think I could handle his schedule nor the fangirls. I feel like I'd give it my best go, but all that plus some negatives with his personality, it'd be a deal breaker. I think I'll always kinda crush on him (unless he devolves into a douchebag), like with movie celebrities etc, but I'll always have a realistic perspective on him.

Indeed she did which isn't true. Yes somethings said here about Jess aren't nice and we've said somethings about Mark that are not considered nice especially by the tumblr community which is why I bet most of us are here but I can't picture anyone here that they would do that whether it is out of jealousy or they are just wanting to be horrible to Jess for the sake of it. We aren't petty like that. Anyone who has disliked here have probably done it for legit reasons such as they just didn't think the video was that good and needed improvement etc. but I can't speak for the lurkers though (no offense) since they come in all shapes, sizes and motives. I admit I've watched one or two of her videos out of curiosity when it was all kicking off a while back when she first appeared here but I promise hands down that I haven't liked or disliked any of her videos because they aren't my thing and I only rate videos that I'm interested in such as gaming and comedy videos.

Agreed. I don't think any of us here are that petty. While I don't care for her and her content, I didn't dislike anything. Just simply, stopped watching.

I'm sure those dislikes are indeed those who subbed and were disappointed, plus super jelly fans.
