He'd probably grow wispy, patchy facial hair in reality. I think he looks nice with the beard, but it's also so common. It's become quite the trend to grow full beards, so Dan just looks like any random cute guy in the edit above. I wish the person who made this also had a Phil version available. Phil with a beard dyed black.

Also whats with all you guys using paint? I would die if I had to do that. Just use GIMP, it has a lot of the capabilities of photoshop and is free, opensource, and pretty lightweight.

I tried downloading GIMP but it didn't work and said something like "could not download" and I have no idea why My computer is sort of old and had to be completely reset one time because it got a bug, and a lot of things were wiped afterwards (that I never re-installed). I've used photoshop at my school for art class and know how to do basic edits and make gifs, but I don't think my teacher would be very happy with me doing D&P-related edits on school dime and time Is there another similar, free program you could recommend?

Maybe quick explanation of things that confuzzled me the most:
Single Window Mode makes life so much easier.
"Alpha Channel" is transparency, enable it to enable transparency. I think it's usually enabled automatically.
Layers has it's own dialogue box on the right, with options to duplicate the layer selected, create a new layer, and delete the layer selected at the bottom.
You can select "Sample Merged" for many tools, which takes into consideration all visible layers (you can make layers invisible by clicking the little eye on them) instead of the layer you have selected and are on.
