My uncle (mom's brother) is divorced and the only holidays he bothers seeing us is when he has the kids, he's decided to have a quiet brunch with his girlfriend. 
I haven't seen him in over a year and I'm kinda pissed about it. He blew off my graduation party too. He's seriously a dick. But that's another rant. Dad's family is either out of town, busy with other family or we don't speak. So it'll be the 4 of us and my grandparents possibly, though my grandma may not come, she seldom goes to holiday dinners because she doesn't like leaving the house. It'll be pretty quiet, but I ordered a cheesecake from my job and we'll watch the parade. Christmas will be busier and we'll probably have to go up to my uncle's since we had Thanksgiving at his house. Unless he makes up another excuse.

I have to cook for in laws and family. I love cooking but I'm nervous still. it's not just the thanksgiving food, all the appetizers and other food... I wish it was just me & my husband and baby not a bunch of loud relatives. Sucks.

Could you not assign dishes? When my family gets together for our reunions, my dad's cousins make the big stuff (main foods like hot dogs, burgers, chicken, steak, etc.) but everyone else brings something, appetizer, snack or desert.eleventhirty wrote:I have to cook for in laws and family. I don't even know. I can't visit my parents because I don't have spare plane ticket money and I have to work the next day. It's just me, my sister and her boyfriend this year! Idk what we're doing. Probably just a dinner at home. None of us even eat meat xD
