Whatever the case it's probably just a habit and people probably don't think about its origins much.

Unpopular opinion: Berries are disgusting. I hate pretty much all berries or anything that looks or tastes like one. And they smell awful. I don't see why anyone likes them and I usually avoid people who are eating/drinking berry flavored anything. Like I can stand the synthetic smell of them in perfume usually, but not food or drinks. It makes me want to throw up and sometimes gives me headaches or stomachaches.
Oh yes! I had totally forgot that but you typing it out reminded me. I think that's what that person was trying to tell me as a kid. lol

---

I can't have berries because of my IC but there's no love lost there. I hate them too. They're so tart and most of them stain crap like countertops like crazy. I also hate all the seeds they have that get stuck in my teeth.

To the convo on berries above.

lol I love berries, it is one of the few fruit I can eat. I don't like sweet stuff, so I usually get my fruit in smoothies. Today I had an apple, and I wanted to gag-it was too sweet for me.

I think that Beyonce is overrated, too. I was just about to post that. I don't think her music has ever been anything special and her dance moves are repetitive and annoying. People seem to worship her and I don't know why.

Amen! She's not even that pretty tbh. Not ugly but she's not some astounding beauty either. I will never understand the cult surrounding ~Queen Bey~.
Same for Ariana Grande. I've seen a few stories saying she's a bitch and already has a huge ego.

This. Though I guess it depends where you live, too. There are a lot of awful people becoming teachers (motivated by summers off, job security, pension), there are too many Teacher's Colleges, the union has WAYYYYYY too much power. I do feel for people coming out of school without a secured teaching position or just getting part-time or on call work, but the entire system needs to be overhauled.

People have always been talking about her ass and Paris Hilton compared it to cottage cheese in a trash bag and it was this huge thing. Her body is only now becoming more and more accepted or whatever.

And about Christina A and Jessica Simpson having similar bodies.... Um, I'm sorry but not. Kim K is naturally curvy with boobs and a big butt but a flat stomach and slender arms and such. When Christina and Jessica were heavier, they were heavier everywhere else, too. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I thought their bodies looked fine but comparing them to Kim K is ridiculous. Kim's body is insane.

But I'm also annoyed with how her body is glorified and starting to become a beauty standard. Good for her... But what the fuck? No one has an ass like that. Now women are getting add implants and butt injections and it's just getting ridiculous.
Kim looked like her dad in drag before all the PS (seriously, just Google Robert Kardashian Reads OJ Suicide Letter or watch any documentary/A&E special on the case). That body (and face) is all plastic surgery and padded underwear.

Same here.
She has like this huge fan following and everyone loves her. I've never cared for her tbh.

All anyone wants to talk about is drinking. Personally I don't drink, I absolutely don't feel I am any better than those that do (unless it's all they rely on for a good time...), but it seems some of them do look down on those like me. The other day someone in my lecture was talking to me and asked if I joined the Psychology Society. I told him I had just started uni so I hadn't had a massive amount of time to check out the societies yet but that it sounded pretty cool. He said they had already had a couple of socials and the "drinking there was insane", immediately launching into a long list of the alcoholic beverages he drank and the details of what followed in the morning. I do not understand the joy people get from putting their bodies through that, but I just said "I don't really drink", and then he said "Why not?" so I told him I simply didn't like the taste. He then said "That's a bit lightweight, loosen up". He laughed as he said it so I didn't take it seriously, but then got up to sit beside someone else. Apparently the minute I reveal my aversion to binge drinking I am no longer worth talking to.

Now I don't want to join any societies. I have heard the Psych society has some brilliant opportunities but I fear it'll just be me sat in the corner of a room being completely ignored. It really shouldn't be the case that not drinking essentially leads to loss of opportunity at university (or at least this one).
I'm from the UK as well and I hate it. I've never seen it like this anywhere else.

I don't really have many friends and people always tell me to go out and 'socialise' and when I ask them to elaborate it just ends up being that they want me to go out drinking and sadly it seems pretty true that that's one of the only ways people actually get together and speak. I don't find it bad people just having a few quiet drinks but I don't know anybody around my age that can actually do that anymore. It's either don't drink or drink until you're vomiting your insides up, humiliating yourself in front of everyone and passing out on the rainy streets of Manchester.

Unpopular opinion on this site - I really love sports. I grew up watching sports and I'm glad that I adore a hockey team that passes a fucking puck around unlike some of the girls on tumblr that idolize mass shooters and murderers.

What I meant by teachers being underpaid is that I feel like they shape a lot of kids lifes and that is some areas they are extremely underpaid.

I agree. Considering the amount of education a teacher has to have, even to qualify to teach, the constant re-education they have to undertake, the grueling hours, the brats and their parents they have to put up with. Now I may be biased as a former teacher myself, but teaching is really one of the most underpaid careers.

I like the Kardashians lol!! Apart from Kris, can't stand her.

I do hate family guy, and nutella though. Nutella is one of the most disgusting things ever, bork :barf:
I hate everything with nuts, I'm not allergic but I think I've trained by brain somehow to react to eating them because my throat feels all throbby when I do haha.

I'm studying in the USA for a year atm and I really really miss the 'drinking' (although for me it's less about drinking and more about socialising) culture. Being away has really made me miss the UK uni life, so I apologise if this comes off as more sappy than I mean it! Don't give up on societies, although there is often a lot of drinking involved, more often then not you can still take part in socials and not drink! No-one at my uni (in the midlands) takes any notice of people and their drinking habits when out.

Advice for you! Take as many opportunities to meet people now as you can! It's so much easier when you first start, and take advantage! Join a sports soc if you're active, although in most unis theyre the most 'crazy' partiers, they also have a lot of serious athletes (depending of course at which uni you're at!) who will avoid alcohol at all costs, so you'll have plenty of people to hang out with and laugh at all the drunkards! And it's a brilliant way to stay fit.

I hope you're having fun though! I miss my freshers. Just remember you only need 40% first year, so take advantage of that! I'm having to research for my dissertation while I'm here and it's hell!

I don't like buttercream frosting, also I don't think sculpted cakes look appealing as something to eat.

i'm still not sure it I want to have kids but I seriously can't help but hate girls who are like "I won't give up my flat stomach and my money for a child" I just saw a girl on tumblr saying that she will never have kids because that would mean using her money for the kid instead of video games and that toddlers are nasty.

I don't know, but you don't need to sound like a heartless selfish bitch when talking about the reasons why you don't want kids.

I mean to each their own but it sounds like a really nasty superior way of saying it. And depending on how old they are, give them a couple years and they might even take that back. I know that for the longest time I swore against having kids, but now I'm looking forward to mommy hood ( in the far, far flung future ) lol

My unpopular opinion is that I don't think shopping online for clothes and makeup is so great. Yeah, it's easier instead of going out to a mall or a plaza but I actually really enjoy going out to shop. Plus I'd rather be able to try on what I'm buying or at least get a close look at it.
