Katytastic just posted a video, she's back :)
i'm glad she's back, but kinda peeved i couldn't watch half of her first video back because of her rambly tangents imo that bit went on for waaaay too long and didn't land as well as she probably thought it did lol but i'm liking the new series a lot!! i've always been curious about her writing process, glad that she's sharing it

Haha I know, I was like girl you sound nervous or something. I haven't watched the 2 writing videos yet but they are in a playlist and ready to go when I get some time.

It's a new year and BooksandLala already has another boring video series - who cares about guessing favourite book of her channel members, unless you are one of those members, and there are already 3 videos of this ughhh
I love BooksandLala and her wacky video ideas, but even I have to admit this one is kind of boring and pointless. I hope it ends soon lol

To be honest booktube has felt boring for some time now if you ask me. Some of the charm of booktube was the diversity of videos you could find. The short silly videos (guess the book by the first line or by feeling the book) has disappeared. I almost never see a tagvideo exact end of the year. I love long vlogs but I can only watch so many people read similar books and talking about them for 40 minutes before it gets boring. Also if you are going to do long vlogs you also have to be a bit of a lifestyle influenser and I would say most booktubers don't know how to do that. Hannah Witton is not a booktuber but makes book videos and I think she knows how to do a long vlog interesting (most of the time).

Long vlogs, TBR jars or other TBR games, reading a whole series and "reading my TBR down to zero" is most of what I see. Reviews has never been that popular (except negative ones) but YouTubers still made them now and again. I still think it's sad we don't have a readathons that most booktubers do. Summerween is probably the one I see most do but nothing like Booktube-a-thon. There are so many small a-thons that I can't keep up with them. I could go one but English is not my first language and I do not want to make this more difficult to read then it already is.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk :P
I don't think there will ever be another readathon to match Booktube-a-thon because the the community is saturated to hell with them. You'd be hard pressed to get everyone on the same page for a single readathon when there's a minimum of five or six happening every month.

I'm pretty sure I've said this before on the forum, but I find the "reading down my TBR" videos pretty funny. The fact that reading the books they own is seen as a new, intriguing concept is a flashing neon sign of just how hyper-consumerist booktube has been.

Im so tired of these youtubers like BrittanyTheBibliophile leaving booktube, and refusing to answer questions about it.

EVERY SINGLE thirst trap instagram post she posts... there are tons of comments asking if she is thinking about coming back, or that they really loved her videos and they miss her, and were just wondering if she was planning to return etc. Dont get me wrong... I understand they don't owe anyone an answer, and maybe she doesnt konw when she will return or if she will.... but she doesnt respond ANYTHING. not even a thank you to these people that dedicated a lot of their time to her channel for years. She just straight up ignores every single comment on every single picture. Even if she says "Thank you so much, I want to but im not sure when that will be..." or "THANKS! im not 100% sure if im going to come back...." I dont care, but she needs to say SOMETHING to these nice people that compliment her and her channel and tell her such nice things. I find it so rude.

like... if you want instagram comments and likes on your thirst traps... then talk to the people that follow you and have always supported you. its like youre just giving them a giant middle finger, after telling them for years and years... "thank you SO MUCH for watching and for all the support!!! I love you guys!"...... bs, no you didnt.

This has become even funnier for me when the book they're holding up is a very expensive special edition they had to go out of their way to purchase and then they end up disliking it lol
