This is weird. Olay has been showing an ad on Channel 5 in the UK lately with Lilly Singh advertising Olay Retinol 24. And in it Lilly is talking about how wonderful it is for her skin and how it gives her such a clear and beautiful complexion. The thing is though that when the camera zooms up on Lilly

Re: iisuperwomanii - Part 2
So Olay has been showing an ad on Channel 5 in the UK lately with Lilly Singh advertising Olay Retinol 24. And in it Lilly is talking about how wonderful it is for her skin and how it gives her such a clear and beautiful complexion.
The thing is though that when the camera zooms up on Lilly you can clearly see her awful, rough skin. I'm not trying to be mean or shame her for having bad skin or anything, but it's just that commercials like this usually you see models with absolutely perfect skin, and Lilly's skin on HDTV you can clearly see rough, damaged skin saying your skin can be like this if you use this product, it's kind of hilarious.
I would have thought that they could have worked some magic before broadcasting it but it seems getting Lilly's skin to look decent was beyond even the ability of the ability of professional beauty editors. When the camera is far away Lilly and others with poor skin get away with, but on the skin commercials they do heavy close-ups and large screen HDTV makes it worse as well. It really does look bizarre for a beauty ad. It almost feels like one of Lilly's skits - she did do one on skincare commercials and about how unrealistic they are. It's like Lilly has become one of the people she was making fun of, except this time it's actually funny and it's unintentional.
What's odd also is that I can't find the advertisement anywhere online which I wanted to show y'all it. I never experienced before when looking for an ad online - usually they are only too eager to upload it whereever they can, it's almost as if someone was embarrassed about it. Maybe the reason they broadcast it on the uk was so they could say to Lilly they had broadcast it so she doesn't have bad feelings towards the company, as she is a long-time client of theirs. I might record it next time it comes on. Does anyone know if this commercial has been shown in the US?
While I was looking for the ad I also came across some other ridiculous nonsense Lilly is doing "make space for women", about why there isn't 50% representation of women in space.... *crinnngggge*. I don't even want to watch it, out of sight out of mind lol. But the point is that they could have put her new commercial here, that would be the natural thing to do. They even have one of her old ones (the SPF one, that is a lot shorter). I also checked the UK Olay youtube channel and it's not there either.

She is getting absolutely roasted online lately. Nobody wants her show to renew.
I wish she listened to the criticism early on.

This is...pretty gross and shameless IMO. Just the thumbnail alone like....idk man, as a socially conscious 30-year-old you'd think she wouldn't sink to the lowest common denominator. Actually....wait that's pretty on-brand for her.

Seniors and people with disabilities and chronic illnesses are in tears because abled greedy people are hoarding the TP five minutes after stores open. People are hoarding essential hygienic products. And here's Lilly hogging it for the content.Guuuuurl wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 7:48 amThis is...pretty gross and shameless IMO. Re: iisuperwomanii - Part 2
Excuses, excuses, excuses... she might as well have just said "I'm REALLY bad at my job"...she’s not that creative if she can't think of any ideas that don't require her to break quarantine...basically she's just being lazy and doesn't want to edit or film her own vids.

lmao how, not only is she being incredibly lazy, but she wants us to feel bad for her...as if she's such a martyr for not breaking quarantine. Stfu Lily

Her show got picked up for a second season. I think the only thing that saved it was the late time slot.

I thought her show was in risk of being cancelled. Since they renewed it, they better do better on s2. Also don't pre-record months in advance so that they can have current and relatable content on the show. And stop the "I'm a bisexual woman of color"... no one cares.

You can’t be racist to white people, you can be PREJUDICE but racism was an idea created BY white people. You can’t be upset about someone making jokes about white people when you created it.moonlightpixie wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 6:10 ami'm so glad her tv show was cancelled. she didn't deserve it at all. plus she was unfunny and racist towards other people that weren't POC
