How can she say in the same video she wants to hang a surfboard above the bed, but the mirror is too heavy to hang?? Michel stop lying.
Also, I just caught up on her TikToks - she won’t spend $200 on wedding earrings, but all the clothes she’s constantly talking about are over $100, she bought that ridiculous $65 picnic basket in a blog a while back. She just bought expensive bar stools that she said her friend has, and they don’t hold up well, so she will have to replace them with even more expensive bar stools soon. She so clearly doesn’t care about this wedding. All Michel does is spend money, but she won’t spend money on her wedding outfit?

She'll spend money on anything related to the afterparty --- she couldn't care less about the wedding itself. Notice how she ever so briefly mentioned the earrings she's wearing at the ceremony? It was a 2 second reference. The amount of apathy she feels towards the ceremony is just not natural. If they had lived together for a few years, I would understand it because they'd likely feel married already. But these 2 have been together for such a short time and most of it by long distance --- how can she not care about the ceremony? It's really weird.saurusrawr wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 9:27 amHow can she say in the same video she wants to hang a surfboard above the bed, but the mirror is too heavy to hang?? Michel stop lying.

I am sorry but her Christmas Gift Guide was horrible. Not one of those items I would ever buy for someone else. If I received any of those gifts it would be getting donated to goodwill. She really isn't as creative as she thinks she is.

I watched last year's gift guide and it was a great gift guide if you wanted gift ideas for her. If you wanted gifts for anybody else, not so much. I have watched other gift guides, like Hannah Louise Piston's and she has some great suggestions. She at least tries to find items suitable for anyone and different budgets.

Agree with everyone who said those gift ideas are terrible. The problem with most of them is they don't have widespread appeal. I'd have to KNOW that the other person really wants one of those things before buying it for them. The exception might be the items that are under $25. Socks are safe enough, for example. Everyone likes or can use socks. And yeah, the gifts in that category would be fine for a secret gift exchange at work, though I'm not sure how excited I would be to receive them.
But I'm not about to give them someone a camera that would cost them more money in the future to use and enjoy. I'm not taking a chance on expensive art unless I know the recipient really likes the artist or they actually requested that very piece of art (and frankly, I kind of hated that art she showed in the video. it's really boring).
None of the ideas were all that creative, unique or exciting. I can only imagine what the gift guide for men is going to be like.

this is kinda petty but i'm rolling my eyes at her cozyearth bedding sponsorship where she claims "she's loved them for years" because it wasn't even eight months ago that she did a brooklinen sponsorship. and it was just over a year ago that she specifically did a sponsorship with brooklinen for their bedding.
i know, i know, it's like... "BREAKING NEWS: influencer lied about loving a sponsor. more at 10." but it's so cringe how there's literally nothing authentic about michel AT ALL

I don't think it's petty. I feel the same way. It's the way she tries to make it seem she's promoting products because she genuinely really loves them and uses them all the time, and not just for the coin. It feels really fake. Like the Walmart sponsorship for example. We NEVER see her go into a Walmart. Ever. But she acted like it was her brand of choice for dog products.sufficientcontact wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 2:09 pmthis is kinda petty but i'm rolling my eyes at her cozyearth bedding sponsorship where she claims "she's loved them for years" because it wasn't even eight months ago that she did a brooklinen sponsorship. and it was just over a year ago that she specifically did a sponsorship with brooklinen for their bedding.

It's hard to take her seriously because she lies about a lot of things in general. She relies on her sincere delivery to carry her through. And I guess it works because her fans will literally believe anything that comes out of her mouth without question.

I can't get over how sad she looks all the time. I was looking at her eyes a lot during this video and the sadness is definitely there. She tries to hide it by smiling really big, talking in an upbeat voice and acting animated, but it's like the light in her eyes has dimmed. It's frustrating that she won't do something about it. It's so obvious she's not ready for marriage and that he's not into her, but it seems she's going through with the wedding regardless. I hope Jordy will call it off. Someone's got to do it and, surely, he wants better for himself than this relationship.

Michel Janse is really just a character & everyone else is just a prop.

Also, wasn’t this one of the ones she had to re-film? I’m sensing some flustered vibes in the intro when she’s trying to say she’s so excited about the time of year.Sarahmolly451 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 2:32 pmI can't get over how sad she looks all the time. Yeah, she did have to re-shoot this one. I think it was really upsetting for her to have to redo all of that work. Still though...she looking really sad during the advent calendar unboxings and those weren't videos she had to reshoot.ordinaryem wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 3:06 pmAlso, wasn’t this one of the ones she had to re-film? I don’t totally hate the gift guide, at least for the under $50. But she’s right when she says it’s for someone like her.
Like I have actually been looking for a cake stand, but I don’t love that design. That’s a pretty specific look, not everyone’s cup of tea. But also that would be for me…gifting someone else that seems oddly specific. The majority probably either have one or don’t want/need one. It’s a narrowed down category & an even narrower style.

Personally I hear coastal mashed potato bar parties and miniature gallery walls are all the rage.Sarahmolly451 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 1:51 pmAgree with everyone who said those gift ideas are terrible. I have no idea what is even coming out of her mouth anymore these days.

Lol. That actually illustrates perfectly why she’s the wrong person to be doing these types of “tips/ideas” videos: she’s not relatable. She’s out of touch with the average person. She has very bougie, particular and somewhat peculiar tastes.
That video about things to see and do in Austin was terrible because she’s boring and never did anything in Austin that would have been of interest to a tourist. She has a highly unusual job so doing videos on tips for running your own business weren’t super helpful to someone who wants to create a more conventional business. Not many people are looking to be content creators so her videos on that topic are not super interesting or helpful. Even her videos on what she learned after divorce and how to move on from a breakup never rang true because she wasn’t being honest about where she was at emotionally after her split. And these gift idea videos aren’t great because there’s a tiny minority of people like her who would enjoy her ideas.
Essentially she thinks she’s the Every Woman and believes everyone likes what she likes. She has no awareness of how of how in relatable she actually is.

If I remember correctly she was moving out of Austin during the Austin City Limits festival and just vaguely mentioned it in passing that there was some big festival going on. Neither she nor Jordy was interested, from either a musical or tourist perspective? I just don't get it.Sarahmolly451 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 5:05 pmLol. Her TT on the swing she installed it so “your not an adult anymore and problems are fake” the way she swang felt like she about to fly to the pool or hit the table lool. Problems are not fake Michel, you are.
She was even more stable when she split with Brooke and moved back home and was alone than she is now. Shes on a rollercoaster of emotions you can tell.

She LOVES to bring up that she was a “theatre kid” but shows virtually zero interest in any kind of arts and culture. The one time recently that she did, when she got tickets for Phantom of the Opera while in NYC, they were all inappropriately dressed and she laughed about showing up halfway through and then claimed she couldn’t follow the plotLilaK wrote:If I remember correctly she was moving out of Austin during the Austin City Limits festival and just vaguely mentioned it in passing that there was some big festival going on. So yeah it’s pretty on brand for her to have zero interest in a major event like that. I do find it surprising for Jordy, though

I’m fairly certain she’s not meant to use the swing like it’s a playground swing. What she’s doing is really dangerous. It’s meant to be seating. It’s okay to sway a bit but fully swinging like that? She’s going to hurt herself.stubs wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 10:18 pmI just keep imagining the ceiling caving in as she’s swinging and she goes flying into the pool….eses4 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 8:28 pmHer TT on the swing she installed it so “your not an adult anymore and problems are fake” the way she swang felt like she about to fly to the pool or hit the table lool.
