It's quiet, so here's a memory to ponder. Alex once told the story about her and Tiasha's friendship when they were kids. Story goes, they were besties (and neighbor's?) until Tiasha went to a youth group meeting with Alex, and got home late, and her parents went off the deep end and declared that ones gaze must never rest upon the other again. Or something dramatic like that. Please fill in the gaps if you remember. I realize that Tiasha's family have very traditional cultural belief's, but I also wonder if they had noticed certain traits in Alex's personality, or changes in Tiasha's attitude when they hung out together?

She always picks the strangest thumbnails. Even before I stopped being a fan of her and was watching her Side Quest videos, I noticed how clickbaity they kept getting. She would use pictures of her being half naked or in provocative positions and it rubbed me the wrong way- like I know that's a tactic YouTubers use I just don't think it's a very...classy tactic. Hell half of them are still up, I can see one right now that is literally just her pulling her pants up and her underwear showing. :/

I'm so glad the YouTube logo covers most of her face in that link (at least on my phone it does), it really disturbs me. She was really trying to make Unhinged Chic happen.

The poop just plainly there on the floor without her even bothering to clean up just that small area 100% convinces me that much of the house looks like that.. If my stove is a little messy, I'm certainly not going to photograph it while photographing my food and go, "Teehee, don't mind the mess!"

It's actually quite easy to preach for proper treatment of fowl and then still eat them, actually? The better you care for your birds, the better eggs and meat you get from them. It also often leads you to do the research of whether or not you're buying from humane sources.

I’m talking less about raising your own food and more about her eating it likely from a supermarket. She cried and cried about Lola going to live with Grace’s dad, I believe, imagine that evening just popping some nuggets in the oven lol. I think I also remember a post about saving some pigeons that were heading for the meat trade, and people were horrified in the comments that people would eat them.. I only say this because it feels a little contradictory to start a bird sanctuary to save birds and still eat chicken tenders. But you’re right, maybe she sourced them from humane places, if that’s possible I don’t know.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again:
Her statements that bird poop is some how cleaner and thus not as bad is bullshit at best, and harmful at worst.
She has got it into her pretty pastel bird brain that bird shit isn’t THAT bad so being surrounded by it can’t be bad. If it was dog shit she had in the corner of a picture and said “lol just ignore the piles of dog shit!” People would be concerned. If it was any animal poop people would be like you need to clean that up.
It’s still WASTE Alex. It’s not clean. It’s not somehow okay to just leave and dry up and infect your household. Especially in areas like YOUR KITCHEN.
And now remember she had some bs thing about wanting to be an ethical landlord to someone with disabilities. Imagine any one (disabled or not) living in that house covered in shit that she never bothered to clean and just covered over because she can’t be assed.

Now that you mention it, I also find it weird that she’s happily consuming the same species that she supposedly keeps as ‘pets’. If she had kept them as poultry then it would be more reasonable.. But imagine petting and cuddling your chickens as you’re chomping down on your chicken sandwich

I don't find it weird to eat the meat of an animal that is the same species as your pet. I don't think it matters that you have an emotional connection or not. People used to joke about eating my rabbit when I had one thinking it'd upset me, and were shocked when I responded that, sure, I'd eat him if he died and it was safe (I didn't, but it honestly would not bother me if I had to). At that point, the pet I loved is gone. It's a corpse. Hell, there are people I am emotionally attached to that, in a life or death situation, I would eat if they bit it first. But I've never been the type of person who wants to kiss a deceased relative at a wake, or keep cremains of a pet around either. There are cultures that believe that that kind of attachment to a corpse is unhealthy and binds the spirit here to haunt the living, so that view isn't existing in a vacuum either.

This is what we vegans call cognitive dissonance - loving animals but also condoning their murder. It's the norm in meat eating cultures and that's why it's completely non controversial (at least for me) that Alex eat chicken. Since there is no such thing as humane murder, if she absolutely has to hoard birds, it would feel more purposeful if they were chickens from factory farms.
