Well I’m not going to complain, I wanted more content around religion because it feels like we get that only on Eid (and it’s always about fashion tbh). So it’s refreshing to see some content without affiliate links.

That’s not winning— so sad that so many girls want to do nothing in life but focus on their looks and be desperate to marry a doctor so that they can social climb and show off their status through a man. Whew, we have deep issues in this community. Luckily, so many Muslim girls study now and do amazing things so that girls like the Asad’s only appeal to a small group. There is absolutely zero to be emulated here. These girls make me sad because there’s so much lost potential. What a waste.

I have a masters degree and I work full-time. But, I've always wanted to be a housewife. Maybe one day, but I'm choosing to be content with the life I was given.

It looks like they are not performing Umrah correctly. You are supposed to be in a state of Ihram before you enter Mecca. Omar should have already had his Ihram and changed into it on the plane…and not buying it in Mecca.

Also who advised her to bring only 1 abaya omg

I’m not sure that’s entirely correct… . I’m actually going to ask a family member to confirm, but I don’t think that’s an accurate statement. Also, you don’t need more than one Abaya for umrah… I don’t know how long she’s there for, but if she really needs to, she can just buy them while she’s there.

Also, did she mention anything about Medina? I hope they go, they’ll love it. The people there are so hospitable.

So you're wearing 1 abayah on your whole trip? That's disgusting to me personally. I walked a lot and was sweating a lot and would even change into a different abayah within the same day. I did most of my shopping at the end of my trip after I finished my ibadah. Shopping at the beginning of your trip before you've completed Umrah doesn't make sense to me personally.

I mentioned above that there would be content with plenty of links. A what I packed, and when she gets back a what I bought in Mecca haul. Probably on TikTok because there won’t be much to link. Hopefully Omar will put together a reel or something with minimal Leena talking and smacking her lips every second. I think he could create some beautiful content. The non-Leena content on his Instagram is not bad

I asked around and almost everyone I spoke to said that typically it’s done from the plane (an announcement is made), as you were saying. They also mentioned that those that live in Mecca, if they want to do umrah they have to go to a specific check point, this “other” checkpoint was mentioned here by another user. I wonder if that’s what Omar is doing? I’m a little confused btw, so we know for sure that he’s not in a state of ihram? I don’t recall seeing him post anything from the point they landed… may be I missed something… can someone confirm? I’m just wondering if this whole issue is a for sure thing or just an assumptions that’s getting blown out of proportion.

As for the abaya, I’m sure she can get more after umrah is done. She’ll probably really want to, because as you said, it’s possible to sweat throughout. Hopefully the temp is okay there and it’s not too crowded for her .

And the style and fashion, even non-hijab/abaya fashion is different. She would have better chances with the Utah moms than actual Arabs. The aesthetic is all wrong

They probably just comment on current crises in order to not get backlash like they did during BLM. It is weird how they're half palestinian yet I feel like I, who is 0% palestinian, know more about and comment on the day to day violence that occurs in Palestine.

This is well said. I think that sometimes we forget that social media for influencers works a little differently than your average person.
