My nails appear to be rather good. When they get too long, I clip them short... approximately every two to three weeks? They always look good, and I don't do anything with them. My mother was constantly envious since she had such brittle nails.

However, yes. There is no need for upkeep. They only break once in a while, and I don't clean them or anything. They appeal to me.

I have a couple of "sand" finishes, one gold (Essence) and one black-with-silver-bits (Sephora), and they're my lifesavers: one coat, no base, dries almost instantly so no dents or gouges even if you have stuff to do, doesn't run outside the cuticles so no cleanup, slightly textured finish hides natural ridges as well as any mistakes, and neutral colours match any outfit. Party ready in 20 minutes.
