Just watching it, it still blows my mind how Troye is literally the only YouTuber to completly transition to mainstream celebrity despite hundreds of others attempting and continuing to try. So many of his friends / former friends must be insanely jealous. .. When will another YouTuber pull it off?
Also I'd never properly seen Jacob before. Holy SHIT he is beautiful.
Yeah it's weird. I wonder what makes him so different? I mean he is a cutie sure but I wouldn't call him hot and I also wouldn't say it's because he is so much more talented than all the other Youtubers. His voice is okay/good but surely not amazing, but I do give him a lot of credit for his song writing which he was already able to do from a very young age.
I think Connor might be able to escape Youtube if he tried to go in the writing direction. And I am not talking about his poems, those are shit. And I am also no talking about any of his pretentious stuff. I am talking about the few passages in his books where he actually writes about stuff in an objective, unpretentious manner. I think those were good. I could see him writing stuff like that for articles in magazines or online. I know he tries it the photographer route right now, but I think his pictures are so boring and it honestly looks like he is always stealing ideas from the photography related pages he follows on instagram...Like the pics he took for Vman. There are already hundreds of shoots doing the same thing with the high grass location and person behind grass/flower shit. He just copied the idea and not even in an interesting way.
Yeah Jacob is a hottie. I mean even Frank Ocean follows him on instagram and likes his pictures and Frank doesn't even follow Troye lmao.
the difference is likely that troye had a career before youtube. albeit small, he did have a couple acting roles as a kid, including on in a wolverine movie.
he already had a foot in the industry. that's what sets him apart from the others. because he wasn't just a youtuber, he was a young actor, who made a youtube channel and makes music
what exactly am i supposed to be looking for around the 3 minute mark and what does it have to do with connor?
No, but for real, almost every single post on this thread discusses Connor in relation to Troye... So the fact that they brought up the relationship, esp when it all started and their first impressions of each other is relevant because it's been analysed, discussed, assumed, and dissected here. E.g., when did the current two meet? Was it while Connor and Troye were still together?, etc.
It's just a matter of fact that, in this thread, a large part of Connor's relevancy is connected to Troye.
Also, one wonders what Connor feels about this video, no?
RW: You're a famous homosexual?
CF: That's what they tell me.
...
Me: WHO ARE THESE MYSTERIOUS THEYS?
Also, is it me or was he a little... I don't know... disrespectful of his elder during the whole interview? It felt like he was rushing a bit, made an inappropriate joke, and didn't add to the conversation,,, at least that's how I saw it.
Saw this on Tumblr. Is Connor trolling us with “he” because it could mean him or that it could mean someone else? Or, maybe both? Maybe it’s a sign of adjusted meds post-Ian. Also, when he went to Yosemite with 4 other people there was a mysterious 6th glass on their table in his Instagram story. Plus, he was spotted in San Diego again immediately after the Yosemite trip.
Also, cleaning out a closet is not quality top-level content. While he gets points for this tease of a thumbnail, he loses points for plastic clothes hangers.
And he loses more points for wearing socks with sandals.
I think like most people I watched him back when he was big because he was cute and it was easy to crush on him... I mean he looks the same that he did back then and yet he is just bat shit crazy. I can only imagine what his dates must think. His latest video was just yet another rambling video and he legit sounds crazy as apposed to his O2L/ College Dorm room days. I love his views on college and partying. How much medication is he on? I feel like he is a few months away from having an Amanda Bynes level breakdown.
The one bit that stood out is that he still talks with the O2L boys at all. I mean I assumed he would stay in contact with Trevor but correct me if I'm wrong but he didn't mention Ricky. Yet, made a point to say he has been friendly and in contact with JC and Kian? It always seemed they were the main reasons he moved out and on with his life and I don't think either have matured all that much. Then again I guess good for them for moving past the past? Even if less than six months ago he was acting all cryptic in tweets because of Trevor's reunion video...
Just checked on his channel and Instagram. Seems like he uploaded 4 videos in a month and his last video is pretty cool. Nothing groundbreaking but nice to see him doing fun things with his brother.
Seems like he also took up some professional photography. He took pictures for some magazines and even did a photoshoot with Banks. Tbh I still think his pics are boring but good for him.
He still sounds a little rambly and crazy in the videos, but at least he's not moping around and for once has some kind of plan.
Coming back to Connor just make me sad somehow, his videos were silly but watchable. However, ever since he dated Troye, somehow he was out of touch with his audience. And things completely went downhill after the break up. Now he's just weird. Meanwhile, Troye is really fortunate with his career. Many of you might not know but his Chinese fanbase is big compare to fellow Western artists. He's lucky that his talent is mediocre at best, but what gathers C-fanbase is not about talent, but about look, aura or personality that they like.
Connor seems lost or something tbh.
He’s publicly posting his photography resumé. Wonder how hard he commits to this avenue or if he will eventually give it up (professionally) like Common Culture and the weekly podcast that mysteriously changed to a monthly video series of 3 episodes in 4 months (last seen since July).
After what appears to have been another photography gig in London, Connor’s on another trip with Arun and Jacob. This time to Montenegro. No promise to us -yet - of sharing photos he’s taken with multiple cameras. And that’s a good thing as he generally has only shown 1 or 2. Calling it now that we probably won’t see some until he releases his third book.
Oh good lord his last two videos need to be viewed by a therapist.
What the heck happened to the bubbly college student and the early years of O2L Connor? Something aside from Troye must have happened and whatever it is he is not dealing with it properly. This photography venture will last for a year or so. He's an IG photographer who plays with his iPhone.
Lost Boy remains lost. The pep talk video was something else. SMH
Connor isn’t the only one dipping his toes in the proverbial photography pool. Realized when Jacob Bixenman was showing his latest photography in Interview magazine that he has shot a couple magazine covers along with other magazine features and Troye’s Bloom album booklet.
If he doesn’t find himself and something to pursue he’s going to end up nowhere living in mediocrity clawing at relevancy like Grace Helbig.

Jacob isn't dipping his toes though he's been in the photography scene for a long time he even photographs for Mark Ronson and I think he's currently working on something with brockhampton, he's even showing Troye the ropes now I think, also his abstract art stuff is really cool and he's a really good poet. His book reading also seems to the rubbing off on Troye a lot.
Connor needs to find something he's passionate about and not just do something because others are doing it I really wonder what happened to him. I find it hard to believe he fell of track all because a 20 year old broke up with him. Although with the way he described it in his book he took the hit pretty hard.

Love Jacob’s style. World of difference in the approach Jacob has from Connor. Connor would greatly benefit from having someone essentially hold him accountable and offer constructive criticism as well as advice about whatever he is passionate about. That would allow him to develop further and grow/evolve in that endeavor as well as a person.
My advice to Connor would be to get out of your comfort zone, find a mentor, take some classes or even do an internship. You have potential, do not waste it cocooned in a small network of aimless people. As the Japanese proverb says, “Fall down seven times stand up eight.” Whatever you choose is not going to be easy, maybe even messy at the start, however, that’s part of the joy in life, in living.

Oh man, saw some of you guys posting and thought I should also catch up on Connor and...I think I started to dislike him?? Like seriously what happened? I still remember #frantasticmonday and watching every single one of his videos the day he posted them and thinking what a sweetheart he is and now I feel like I really started to kind of dislike him. Maybe it's because I got older or grew up and made my own experiences with love, friendships, relationships, anxiety, stress and all that stuff, but now when I look back on certain events in Connor's life and how he handled them, I can't help but think he isn't all that nice and sweet but actually really manipulative and kinda crazy. That whole thing about his break up with Troye: In his book he described it as a horrible break up that fucked him up and made him depressed, making people believe that Troye was cruel to him. But we now know that they were already broken up when Troye met Jacob on February 10th 2016. Think back to Connor's behavior in February and March 2016. He continued liking Troye's tweets and tweets related to Troye, posted Troye's Youth MV, followed Troye's manager on instagram and all those things that were pretty much the reason why Tronnor shippers thought they were still together. Which makes me believe this wasn't a cruel break up. I think it's obvious Connor wanted to get back together with Troye, obviously Connor thought Troye would change his mind after his Tour ended, so he continued to "attach" himself to Troye by liking his tweets and hanging around Troye's friends. He did this until March 25th that was when he tweeted "people change and it fucking sucks". That was one day before Troye came back to LA after the Tour. My guess is Connor contacted Troye about meeting up in LA and maybe Troye made it clear to him that they wont get back together maybe he even told him about Jacob. Something definitely happened, because Connor stopped liking Troye's tweets and tweets related to him after that day. But only after March 25th did he stop crawling up Troye's ass which is actually almost 2 months AFTER the actual break up happened. And after that he became clearly bitter. I remember every time there was new Tracob proof Connor would post something depressing or crazy (remember those crazy insta stories after Troye took Jacob to the VMA's?). But in his book he acted like the break up was so horrible, while failing to mention that he still crawled up Troye's ass after it until he finally realized Troye wouldn't come back to him. So you know Connor yes break ups fucking suck but maybe it wouldn't have been that horrible if you had stopped obsessing over Troye and actually tried to accept the break up and tried to move on. And maybe you shouldn't have thrown away your own social life to follow Troye around and make your whole life about Troye during the relationship, while Troye on the other hand didn't do the same thing. Sorry but Connor himself made the relationship unhealthy, he was the one who made himself depended on Troye, like no shit Sherlock would that blow up in your face when the relationship ends. But nothing about any of that in Connor's book. Don't even get me started on his tweet from only like a month ago: "too afraid to fall in love again". Seriously dude book more therapy sessions; it's been almost 4 years, Troye was only 20 when he broke up with you, you are now a 27 years old man for fucks sake.
And remember Connor's twitter meltdown after the other O2L boys made that Youtube video reenacting old O2L pictures or something like that? That was one of the most disgusting things Connor has ever done publicly. He made it sound like the boys were the reason he was suicidal back during the O2L days which is fucking disgusting. Connor was depressed even before that and it's not like anyone knew about his struggles and depression and then to go on a twitter rant for everyone to see and basically put a lot of blame of Connor's personal problems on the O2L boys to make them feel horrible and guilty, no words so gross. That was truly one of the biggest warning signs how manipulative Connor really is.
His youtube videos are terrible and I truly hope he pays Ian, the guy who gets him the photography jobs, a lot of money because Connor is an awful photographer. I honestly wouldn't go as far and call Jacob an amazing photographer either but you can tell that Jacob has some vision, his pics are actually interesting. He has some good ideas. Looking at Connor's instagram that he made for his photography jobs, makes me cringe. The pics are so boring and bad. He has so much time why doesn't he take at least classes for photography? Does Heardwell actually make any money? Does that company have any success? And did I see that right that he just posted a picture on his instagram that is an ad for some jewelry from an instagram influencer? An influencer?? That's even more embarrassing than his bootea shake ads... So I guess he needs that money now?
It's so interesting to me how I rarely find anything about him anymore that i actually like even though I was a pretty loyal fan a few years ago. Growing up really changes everything lol.
I honestly am questioning if during the very long period of him being MIA if he was in a mental institution. He needs to move home or find a therapist to find the right blend of meds that work for him. He is not well at all.
As people have said above, his photos are very mediocre. There is nothing breathtaking about them. He's an IG photographer who takes photos of fences with his iPhone.
