I think there are two sides to it. A lot of kpop stans will do crazy, psycho shit to get the attention of the artists (maybe the person that first came out with the cumming on a cat thing was a stan), and on the other hand people who hate kpop will blame the artists and fans for EVERYTHING.

Listen, I’m no expert. And to some it may sound like I just don’t understand what a joke is. But I think there is a difference between a “joke” and a “funny lie.” Most of the time with comedians, we can tell that they are telling a joke/not being serious. Even troll videos, at first you may think they’re being serious, but it doesn’t take too long to figure out that it’s a joke.

Shane, on the other hand, will just straight up lie, and it’s a joke, but there’s nothing to signal to the audience that he’s not being serious. That’s where this whole cat situation comes into play. He told a “funny” lie (funny being subjective), and there was nothing to signify the audience that he was kidding. Haven’t watched his videos lately, but I know he used to do this all the time. Even if someone was there to call him out and say he wasn’t serious, he would continue to say he was being real.

And most of his lies are similar to this cat story, where they’re really embarrassing. This is something people who lie and manipulate a lot do. They tell a very personal and embarrassing story about themselves so later on you’ll be more likely to believe whatever they say.

Omg I loved shoey back in the day! Joey was still in the closet and clearly not comfortable being labeled as gay but since he was a big youtuber at the time Shane pushed their “ship” to be relevant!
