Just saw this comment on that awful party video. WTAF? Darcy would never feel like an outsider, her own family would be there. Your the outsider Devon you creep!

Omg, that's mental. Projecting her own insecurities onto Darcy. WHY would Darcy feel like an 'outsider'. Its just called 'people at a party you dont know' and this will happen infinite times to most humans throughout their lives at work, socialising and in public. You just deal with it. This really is about her own mental health and perception of being 'an outsider' at work, college and how she feels. I get that she wants to protect darcy from how she experiences strangers and socialising, but Darcy is fine and a totally different person to her. She needs some self awareness, pronto because she is projecting her own victim mentality into this 'passion'.

That’s what I thought. She’s putting the blame onto Darcy and not herself. She’s the one that is the outsider. Darcy is a lovely social little girl from what we see. She’s friendly and polite. I really doubt that a few strangers at a wedding is going to scare her. She’s a kid and probably couldn’t care less. Devon is the one who is going to be uncomfortable and awkward.

Very unhealthy that Matt is allowing Devon to do this and go round saying it. Darcy won’t thank her when she’s older and sees all the stuff she’s said about her.

Wow. Just. Wow. Why is she so hellbent on Darcy meeting her family? Darcy will gie no shits. And she's meeting them this year, and the wedding is next year? I know she's a smart kid, but she isn't going to remember even half of them with that gap in time.

If Darcy were not Louise daughter, and she were simply a 'regular' kid, with no exposure to any kind of fame or popularity at all, Devon would not be this frantic to have her family. It's all to 'show off' to her family that her husband to be is the ex husband of a famous Youtuber. Nothing else. She is so damn pathetic, and this is a new low.

In any other normal step-whatevers dynamic, this does not happen. I have two step sons and exactly zero members of my family have met them, and unless my family happen to visit when they are here, then it'll stay that way. The kids and my family equally couldn't care any less about each other. And we're all very loving people, but there is just no rhyme or reason why it would even make sense for anybody to hold an event of which the kids meet the relatives. A wedding, fair enough. But even then it's always just a quick passing introduction before both parties veer off into their own family circles again.

I'm with you. Nothing wrong with two guys going on a trip away together, but if my boyfriend was always going away for weekends to lovely places with his friend and then limiting me to like a £10 budget ( ) for our engagement party decorations, then I'd be getting pretty supicious.

I understand they are on a budget and what not. But would a bit of colour and decoration kill them? (and those hideous table ornaments don't count!)

If I held an engagement party. I would want it to represent me and partner as a couple! I would want it to express who we are as a couple! You can still make things FUN! These two lack creativity and are both so dull so I really shouldn't be surprised that they are putting little effort into this!

They know their guests will be bringing them gifts so why not make it special for their friends and family that are attending ffs?

So being a complete nose that I am, I looked back at Devon's IG and I'm confused about the timeline, they've been going out for 2 and a half year.

Ever since she has been introduced to Darcy she’s done nothing but play up this step mum crap and happy families. It’s just so odd and desperate. I think I will make a geocities-style tribute page to Devon and Matt’s declining coma-inducing relationship using the below template. I will replace the picture and adjust the text. Maybe replace the advertisement with one for a party supply store and another one for electroshock therapy treatment.
