I'm from Ireland. I do like it here really, all everyone does is complain and act like our lives are so hard but we really do have it pretty good compared to many places in the World.

Move to Penang, Malaysia when I was 14, and now settle down with my husband at Rakvere, Estonia.

I'm from Oxford, UK. I've only lived in the UK - Oxford, Windsor and London, but I'd like to live further afield at some point.

My mom is hungarian too and my daddy is dutchTaylorKnows wrote:I was born in America but I'm Puerto Rican (Dad's side), Hungarian, Check, Uruguyan (is that even the proper use?) and Italian. I'm more Hungarian than anything but my last name is Puerto Rican. And I look white as hell. Heck even my dad who's like half looks more white than anything. So no one believes me until they hear my last name.

Dublin in Ireland. I can't wait to leave here.
On the topic of surnames, I agree that many native ones are hard to pronounce. Even natives here can't pronounce my surname!

Re: Where are you from?
I am from, and still live in, San Jose CA. It's the tenth biggest city in the country and yet many people outside of California have not heard of it. Everyone knows San Francisco, which is just a bit north of SJ, even though they've got a significantly smaller population than we do. One million people live in San Jose!
As for ethnic background I generally identify myself as Russian, although I am not 100%. It takes too long to list every single tiny percentage of my ethnicity- and I've been asked on multiple occasions if I am from Russia because I have an Eastern European look to me.

Re: Where are you from?
Born in Washington. Consider myself from Texas.
Mom is from Mexico. Dad is a Puerto Rican from Jersey. So far I've traced my lineage to Corsicana, France (great Grandpa) and Sicily. Moving to Germany in May, so I'm looking forward to diving into my family lineage a little more. Spain's gotta be close in there somewhere lol.

Re: Where are you from?
Yay another Texan! I miss Texas. Ever hear the ol saying "A Texan outside of Texas is a foreigner"? I feel like that statement is completely true. Anytime I travel to another state (or how now I live in Hawaii), I always feel so out of place. Locals here think I'm a local too until I talk with my, "ma'am", "sir", "excuse me", "thank you", "after you", then they turn and look at me and go "Hooo! You not from round here, yea?".fmg123 wrote:Born in the Philippines. But raised pretty much all my life in Houston TX. And I love living in Houston....don't know why exactly but I do
And I'm all "Umm....how could you tell?" O_O
They're not use to southern hospitality I guess. lol
