Couldn't find a thread on Chelsea. I like her channel -- her style of beauty videos reminds me a little of Essie Button. But she just made video on authenticity in the beauty community and sponsored videos/receiving free samples, and it was pretty interesting hearing the opinion of someone who makes money from Youtube.

I just found her channel and so far I'm diggin' it. She keeps it real.

I'm actually watching this VLOG right now and god damn is she long-winded. 20 whole minutes? But I'm glad she address this topic so bluntly.

So, I'm the only one who hates her with a passion here ? She is like an America version of essiebutton, no originality, no substance, and beat as hell. I just watched her may favorites video, and she claims to spend a lot of money on skin care, but, damn from the bags to the pimples to the puffiness of her face, where is all that high quality expensive product going ?

I really like her, too! But she seems to be tight with the London clones, so I don't hold out much hope that she's going to stay genuine long-term.

I kind of like her. She seems genuine to me. I don't understand how someone staying in the blogger scene for too long makes them not genuine. Please explain...I wanna know what I'm missing out.

Most of the times long term style blogger who have been in the scene long enough act genuinely entitled, snobby and get a holier than thou attitude, ala kandee Johnson, dulce candy, and itsjudytime. She has been blogging and making videos almost long enough to act that like that and I feel like she has been. She looks bored in her videos, the effort is minimal and the topics are the same old same old, here is what I wore, here is what I liked this month, and I'm gonna show you a bunch of swatches but I'm not gonna elaborate on product or show you how I use them.

Oh ok... I think I understand now...even though I like her, I haven't watched her videos lately coz I haven't had her recent videos show up on my youtube... So I guess I missed out on her new attitude.

I really like her but she's always so monotone and professional in her videos that they get boring.

I like Chelseawears most of the time as she actually says negative things about products and doesn't seem to take herself too seriously. She can be funny and I like hearing her foundation recommendations as I'm super pale like her.
But her ridiculous spending (which she admits is often funded by her mom) is on par with other youtubers. She does mention issues that other youtubers wouldn't touch: she has mentioned how much she gets paid by youtube, she has a video discussing authenticity in youtube, she seems honest about getting free samples and what things she's actually purchased.
But there's some disconnect. She jokes about materialism and consumerism but doesn't seem to realize how out of touch her lifestyle is. If she really was broke, she wouldn't keep buying such high end products. If she really was smart, she'd snap out of the narcissistic, vapid bubble of constant shopping. If she really had style, she wouldn't look like just another clone.

I understand that her channel is called Chelsea wears for a reason, but I feel like there is no difference between reading her blog and watching her. Her last tutorial was in January.

I like her but she spends so much money on high end stuff, and at the same time give out the impression that she can't afford things, like Essie a while back. I have no problems with people spending a lot but don't pretend to be oh so broke!
She's becoming a bit of a hoarder of zara shoes..youtubers tend to hoard a bit
