This is a perfect comparison. I started watching Jen right around the time the first season of Orphan Black began airing, and immediately saw some of Allison in Jen (except Allison is shockingly cool, and Jen is...not). omg I totally saw it too (and continue to see it). I absolutely LOVE orphan black. But like others have said, Allison is way more badass when she needs to be, Jen isn't at all.
