God, I am fuming about Joe Sugg being cast in Waitress. I so rarely get to go see a West End show and my fiancé got us tickets for Sep 14th. I was pretty excited to see Blake Harrison but didn't even know if he'd still be in it on that date—but seriously, Joe fcking Sugg taking over on the 9th!? I'd be sorry not to see Blake but still enthralled by seeing a professional theatrically-trained performer in the role. What I've no interest in seeing is a YouTuber with zero stage experience.

Anyway, back to Carrie—totally agree with the person who commented on the fact that she immediately jumped to her own defence in that tweet that was actually praising her?? The person was saying hey, look, don't discredit YouTubers in the West End, look how amazingly well CHF has done, but as per usual, Carrie needs to let everybody know that being a YouTuber in the West End is actually a hUge dIsAdvaNtaGe *eye roll* Completely missing the point like always
If you ring up the company you bought the tickets from you may be able to swap to an earlier date. I've done that in the past from See Tickets because I wanted to Sierra Boggess in Love Never Dies and my original ticket was after she left. They swapped it with no issue when explained why.

I get angry at anyone who still uses a nespresso machine. I don't care if the pods are "recycled", something I'm skeptical about anyway. We should be working to reduce our reliance on plastic in all circumstances. And coffee pods are one of the stupidest uses of plastic. For the same price you can get a huge bag of beans and make a cafetiere or even get a mini coffee machine.... It's more cost effective and isn't adding unnecessary strain to the environment.

I'm glad she's not got one gifted but I still take issue with it.
Whilst I agree in general about pod machines, Nespresso is the best by for from a recycling perspective. I guess you don’t know this based on your plastic comments, but nespresso capsules are aluminium and contain no plastic at all.
If recycled the aluminium is melted down and re-used and the coffee grounds are used as fertiliser so they are a lot better than other pod coffee machines that use plastic.

But you are still using so many resources to recycle coffee pods - there is no real need for them to exist when you can simply buy a bag of beans. They are inherently wasteful however you frame it. We were fine for years without coffee pods, Nestle invented them to make money.

To be honest, seeing as Carrie is always blabbing on about ethical this and that it annoys me that Carrie gives Nestle so much airtime. They are a company with a horrible human rights record, which they haven't even tried to put right. How Carrie can promote them and feel okay with herself is beyond me.

Yea don’t get me wrong I agree completely I just wanted to correct the plastic comment you made in reference to Nespresso, I still agree it’s unnecessarily wasteful and I don’t buy anything from Nestle due to the reasons you’ve mentioned.
I don’t think Carrie is overly concerned with ethical products or her environmental footprint. Going Vegan (or at the very least stopping eating meat and dairy) is the single most effective thing someone can do on an individual level to reduce their environmental impact. Until people start embracing a plant-based diet I don’t think they can claim to care about their impact on our planet.

Another point on coffee machines and environmental issues therein.........
Last year I started a new job where I had to get up an hour and a half earlier than usual and for xmas I asked my mum for 'like a teasmaid but for coffee.. I don't know if they exist though' (A teasmaid was one of those wonderfully odd 1960/70s things. Like an alarm clock but with tea in it. You'd set a timer on it and it would make you a pot of tea the next morning without you having to wait around). Anyway, she got me a drip filter coffee machine with a timer on a amazon... £20! You just fill it up with water, put one of those paper filters in, fill that up with your preferred coffee grounds and then you either set a timer or go to bed, or you just press a button and you've got coffee in about 2 mins!
I'm not saying it's the best option for everybody, but if you're worried about your impact on the planet, you don't have much cash and you're not overly bothered about having a milk steamer, it could be worth a look.
But we all know Carrie wants the big flash all-singing all-dancing coffee machine so she doesn't have to deal with baristas who don't know how big a flat white is or how to spell her name!

You’re talking about filter coffee though, pod machines make Espresso coffee so it’s a different drink. It’s kind of like recommending a juicer to someone who wanted a smoothie maker. It’s the same ingredients but produces a different drink.

The more environmentally friendly equivalent would be a manual espresso machine that uses ground coffee instead of pods. Or for more convenience a bean to cup espresso machine. The former you can get for around the same price as a Nespresso machine, although bean to cup ones are more expensive.

Did anyone see her recent stories? My god I feel sorry for her fans. You get 20 seconds at stage door with your idol and she can't compute a basic compliment.

This made me laugh. At least she apologised for potentially coming across as rude, I’m sure anyone who’s a fan enough to go to stage door will follow her SM so hopefully they’ll see it and no harm done.

Will do Ball, Boe, Lucas and other assorted cast members at stage door if I'm fortunate enough. Carrie can take a running jump. Wouldn't have her autograph if she stopped to offer it. She's so rude and arrogant. The others are full of nothing but gratitude and humility on their social media, especially Michael who has probably had the longest and most successful career out of all of them.

it's further evidence of her own unhappiness with herself

The way she said Sondheim made me want to die
Agreed!

Why does she say 'Sond-ime'? Who told her that was the right way? It's 'Sond-hime' mainly because it's a name of Germanic extraction where they enunciate their H's, unlike French, where they don't!
Sorry - watching the vlog at my desk while I write this... Just got to the coffee machine bit where she said she's going to buy a new one for when her house is ready.... 1) how long has she had that machine that parts of it are 'not working like you would hope'? or is she just using it wrong and she's broken it? 2) is she just giving nespresso and other big coffee machine brands more time to offer her a new shiny freebie?

Carrie Downward Slope Fletcher and the Order of a free Ole & Steen and Coffee Machine!

She was playing up the fact that she’s used it soooo much it’s worn out because it was gifted to her from nespresso after she moved to her flat. Just a further beg for a new one because the tweet didn’t work Image

It's not just the plastics that bother me. It's the whole process. The amount of energy and resources required to melt down the aluminium, the litres and litres of water required to separate the grounds from the pods and why? For convenience. Coffee pods are some of the stupidest forms of waste imo. Even if you're pure lazy and don't want to mess with beans, use instant. I've yet to have a nespresso or pod based coffee that tastes much better than instant anyway... Carrie claims to be a "coffee snob" in her stupid post about what a flat white should be... Can't be that much of a coffee snob if she's drinking nespresso but then 1. I'm super into my coffee to the extent where I have experimented with roasting my own beans in the past and 2. I really, really try to minimise my environmental impact, including water waste, chemical use, plastic etc.

Sorry if this is OT: I have around nine ways to make coffee in my house (yes, I am addicted) and none of them use pods or filter papers. I mostly use a French press and ground coffee. I can make it as strong as I want to. I don't get the pod thing. Even if you didn't care about the environment (which I do) or the cost of pods and filter paper, I think it tastes of the machine.

WAY OT: but I agree. I have a drip filter but I find the coffee tastes better if made in a cafetiere.
Even more OT: Does it annoy anyone else that in some places they call a cafetiere a 'French press' but it was actually invented in Italy by an Italian so isn't french in the slightest?! Probably just me!

Rob Houchen has worked with her before and is probably sick of her tantrumming and poking her camera in everyone's face so he stays out of her way. Carrie's threads can quickly descend into social media chaos and if you are in the original post you can rapidly get implicated, especially on Twitter because of the tagging. I suspect it's the same with Pumpkin. Very quiet on that front tbh
