Oh definitely. I personally don’t have a problem with Zalfie spending that much money on furniture, it is their money after all. However the amount they spend on things that don’t NEED to be expensive (like that floor lamp that was over £1000) and useless shit that they don’t need (like the trampoline) is ridiculous.Slackerbitch wrote:Not gonna lie, if I had that money I'd spend it too (except ill do it with taste)
sorry for any mistakes. English IS my first language, I just type like an idiot.

She’s got to be one of the biggest waste producers in the south east. I bet she doesn’t recycle any of the plastic stuff either.rai1234 wrote:And she never reuses Christmas decorations. No way in hell is she gonna use her xmas ornaments from last her giving how wasteful and vain she is
Re: Zalfie’s furniture. £280390 spent on overpriced tat
There is no way Zoe will re-use last years Xmas decs. Their 6 or 7 trees must be decorated differently every year for the 'gram!
I can only hope the previous years decorations are donated to a charity shop and not binned.

The tap/shower head in the dog-wash room. Used once (by Amanda) when they first moved in.. and then never again. £630 or $829.
I couldn’t identify the sink unfortunately.

Well if i had their money, i would buy more expensive things to decorate my home, off course. I would not go to Ikea, but would buy what i really want, even if it is very expensive. I would only not let something rot away outside and dont take care of it.
Re: Zalfie’s furniture. £280390 spent on overpriced tat
Would you too buy something that goes out of style in a year? Having their income most could be more ecology and sustainability oriented. They scream new money, carelessness and egocentrism.

Re: Zalfie’s furniture. £280390 spent on overpriced tat
Lol out of style.. i buy things i like and if it goes out of style in a year, who cares. I redecorate smaller things every year actually, new color, new accesoires. Just not the big furniture. Just because i like i change of color. If i had more money i would buy also maybe some bigger things new sometimes and sell the other stuff. I like to decorate my home, like interior design so yes i would change things more then. Just not huge things like a couch or dining table.
Re: Zalfie’s furniture. £280390 spent on overpriced tat
Yes out of style because what they bought looks like something that only suits home styled in 2016-2017 and will look ridiculously tacky next year. They will throw it out and get a new trendy piece generating a pile of waste. I redecorate too but it’s a big difference when you decorate with timeless pieces or when you choose to redecorate yearly and change coffee tables that often. I am hoping that’s the style they stick to because the amount of waste they have left so far is massive.

Re: Zalfie’s furniture. £280390 spent on overpriced tat
I feel like she is always trying to improve her life through purchasing stuff. She imagined the type of lifestyle she could have in the new house, so bought everything she could do it with. She set up the big kitchen because she probably excused herself not cooking because of the small kitchen in the other house. She imagined hosting christmas and events so she made sure there were plenty of entertaining areas. She imagined having kids in the near future and probably thought Alfie might cave sooner if they had a house with more room. She imagined being the pinterest mum, so she put in the dog washing house, big backyard, breakfast bench.
It just seems to me that she is trying to use her money to build the perfect life, but it isn't working. She keeps living in the future, never appreciating the present. She should take time to enjoy this time in her life when she doesn't have the responsibility associated with kids, where she and Alfie can go out on dates all the time, when she can travel without having to stress too much. I actually find it kinda sad.

Re: Zalfie’s furniture. £280390 spent on overpriced tat
Just finished reading the whole thread and I think I'm sick. I'm a bit of a cheapo and even if I had all that money there's no way I would waste it on stuff like that when I could find cheaper and equally as good quality items. I would rather spend it on travels etc.
Also, it's all so...kitsch. That's too bad, their house I really like, especially the open kitchen area, but it's like they turn everything they live in into a dark cave. Like, the house probably gets a lot of natural light but it's like they fight it with their macabre furniture, you get what I mean? lol Not to mention, it's all the trend of the moment, not an ounce of originality

Re: Zalfie’s furniture. £280390 spent on overpriced tat
Did anything from their last house make it into the new one? From what I gather watching the vlogs, it seems like everything—including clothing— was thrown away or donated.
I like some of the things, that geometric rug in the sunroom is incredible. As someone who window shops on 1stdibs quite a bit when I’m bored, I think it’s probably easy to really lose control of a budget when you’re the kind of person who can afford a $4,000 sofa.
I spend a lot of time digging through auctions and antique stores and yard sales for my job, so I always get to see what things actually cost before they make it to the market with a marked up price. It has turned me into a very stingy person, but still if I had millions of dollars I’d probably be like “Screw it, here’s $2,000 now deliver that chair to my house. That pillow is nice, $800? I’ll take it!” because ultimately I’m lazy and impulsive.

You’ve hit the nail on the head with this one. I really felt that way when she went to visit her mum and she loved the beautiful vegetable garden. She likes the idea of things and the feelings it might envoke, rather than figuring out what she actually likes and putting energy into that. She has constructed this huge ‘dream’ life but isn’t enjoying it. She is probably overwhelmed by it. Sometimes when people have so much money it can be hard to enjoy your things, because they are so easily attained. My middle class income leads me to really appreciate the things I’ve coveted and saved foramity wrote:I feel like she is always trying to improve her life through purchasing stuff. Their Roland piano. £1,899 or $2,507
https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/roland-hp60 ... gICP_D_BwE
Jamie Oliver BBQ. £672 or $887
(I know this was gifted by Jamie himself, but I thought I would include it anyway just to point out how much it’s worth vs. how little they use it. I think I’ve seen them use it only once in a year!)
