It is super interesting watching all these beauty guru OGs make the “worst purchases of my twenties” videos. I just watched sarahbelle’s and then Lindsay’s autoplayed after hers. It’s pretty fascinating how...wasteful they were with their money.

Honestly the best thing Lindsey has ever done for her channel has been her speaking honestly about all the behind the scenes of the LA time period. I think for those of us who were watching during that time and remember it clearly (likely all of us on this thread) it's pretty interesting to hear her speak candidly about the way they all partied, how stupid they were with money, etc. I don't know if I've ever seen another youtuber look back on their "prime" (career wise) and lay down all the facts about it for everyone who was there watching it so I appreciate it

Yeah I agree, especially with the way she wanted to live - with new clothes, eating out/going out all the time, her expensive loft, etc. Not to mention she was way less consistent with YouTube back then and her income was probably much more varied.

I wish I made that much a month. That said LA is very expensive. Couple that with any credit card debt, the fact she ate out and went out a lot, and so forth I can easily see her spending more than you’d think per month out there.

I don’t think she moved home because she couldn’t live alone financially anymore but moreso it was smart to regroup for a few months and pay off debts and gather together a savings account for her new place and to furnish it and fund her move. I’m not sure if she had much in savings or not because in the past she was very spendy with designer bags and items.

I don't think anyone is saying that she is struggling in boise, they're talking about her struggling in LA. I think 96k wouldn't classify you as very well off in LA. The poverty level is different in every state and city because some places are significantly more expensive than others.

I live in LA and don’t even make a third of what she makes at the moment, it seems. I still have my own apartment, car and am independent. It’s possible and doable, you just have to reign in the frivolous spending and realize what you can afford and what you can’t.
