going back to the podcast.... i wish david appreciated his parents and family more.. he's such a moody teenager with them ... they visited david for two weeks and according to jason "david didn't spend anything but two seconds with them or give them the time of day"
Jason was talking about the cousins from slovakia he had never met before. David didn't even know them. No big deal in my book.
I also feel like a) If anyone knows you / understands your quirks, it's your family. If David can't be himself with them, then who can he be "off" with? b) I don't doubt for a single whisper of a nanosecond that David helps his family, financially, or with anything else that they need (in fact he's mentioned going to the bank for them before). It's only because of his career that he's able to do that. And his career, as he's currently defined it, deliberately doesn't include time off. Whether we agree on the sustainability of that or not, that's his choice.
At the end of the day, everyone shows their love differently. David isn't a "quality time family get-together" guy, but you can bet precisely zero of his siblings will have to pay for college and his parents will never have to stress.
