Indeed it can! I started biting my nails as a toddler, and due to a lot of OCD and anxiety issues that started at a young age, it was a REALLY bad habit for me until my late teens. It took a good couple of years for all of the damaged bits and ridges to completely grow out. Coupled with the fact that I had a major iron deficiency for awhile, my nails were UGLY. It's easy to see that Kailyn bites/picks her nails down to the quick and then continues to have a go at them until they are raw. She'd be best to stay away from the nail polish and other chemicals for awhile, get a nutrient rich cuticle cream, and load up on her leafy green veggies.
