why do people insist on telling people their babies are super adorable, when they arent? i have never done that, if i see an ugly baby and am forced to say something i just say "awwww hiiii" LOLZ. i cant lie.

Manners, I guess? I dunno. I always just say they're "precious" if they're funky looking.

In the South, "Bless your/his/her heart" is a nice way of putting someone down lol.

I just say "Helloooo!" in a silly voice directly to the baby, and sort of waggle my fingers at him/her Kai-style. Or there's always, "Wow, look at those (insert color here) eyes!" I mean, you may think the baby is butt-ugly, but you can still say "Look at those blue eyes!" and no parent ever thinks you secretly mean "because the rest of his face looks like a Shar-Pei's ass."

Meh, I do think my baby is a bit weird looking, but I don't see that as a bad thing necessarily. As long as he's happy and healthy, whatever. Plus, I just had major surgery and am going to need weeks of healing so I'm not too concerned with how he looks right now. And the only reason I even posted a picture/update is because other people were asking.

Don't feel bad, Lotte. All newborns are ugly. My sister looked exactly like Danny DeVito when she was born and now she's a bombshell.

I think babies have to grow into their looks. Like to me all newborns are not cute, but then once a week goes by the cuteness shines through.
