To those asking for PMs, there is a rule about not sharing info with newbies until we (or any other veteran) feels comfortable sharing with you. We have this policy due to trust issues and (in my opinion) avoiding spreading info to a certain Youtuber that makes money off controversial news now.
I might be able to PM one or two of you tonight. Right now I'm busy working, and I'm currently on my phone (which my only reason for having some time npw because my 5pm session cancelled at the last minute, so I have time unless more works gets piled onto me).

When you go on a rant and during the making of said rant a new thread is created, I'm off to a great start!!

Yeah, sorry about that haha... I tried to post earlier, but GG is being GG.VioletSparks wrote:When you go on a rant and during the making of said rant a new thread is created, I'm off to a great start!!
Concerning your post in the previous thread, I understand completly how you feel. At the time I was reading some fanfiction or just fiction on the Internet in general, I know that some fanfictions (the non-smutt ones and not just Septiplier) can be well written vocabulary, development, atmosphere wise (I actually found one septiplier fanfiction, well built, and there was no romantic relation between them, I was like 'whaaaaat?! It exists?!'). Some others are just purely disgusting. I mean, it's already quite disturbing that people are trying to force two people in a relationship, but to create obscene brutal stuff while they, like Mark and Jack, specified not to is just unrespectful. I saw some fanfictions and some are... well... I will say 'special' to be nice they need to rethink before posting that shit up.

Re: Markiplier - Part 7
Yeah there is crazy disgusting art and fan fiction out there. I've seen some stuff on Archives of Our Own. You're the reader and Mark is your boyfriend or whatever. Maybe they like it or they like to shock people with their art/writing or they want attention, or whatever who knows. Mark did comment on tumblr about a fic where it's ArinxMark.

Yeah, if it's just a fun fan art or whichever that can be awesome!. When it comes to the more brutal things though, I don't even get the point. Especially when requests have been made for that sort of thing not to happen. I think a big thing for me though, is I'm always uneasy of ages of people making those things.

Re: Markiplier - Part 7
I was talking to someone on deviantart about what's wrong with people that draw or write things like having Mark be raped by Bonnie from FNaF and said something how they may have been sexually assaulted at a younger age or something.

Lol I read the self insert ones. I don't like the ones where it's just smut. I prefer there be an actual story happening and things don't happen too fast. Yeah I looked up that springtrap art, eesh. People have disturbing kinks. And what? I've been molested but I sure wouldn't write or draw something where someone else was being victimized.

Re: Markiplier - Part 7
I've decided I'm not going to educate myself on that piece of FNaF writing/art.
I'd like to point out though, I'm not saying "in all drawing skirts must be at or below the ankles" sort of thing. But for me, anything that has to do with falling into the unwilling category, or controversial fetishes is really not okay.

I understand it's creativity and you're allowed to create freely, but the artist must keep in mind that some stuff can be unnecessary, like the one you talked about Aquarian where Bonnie raped Mark. I don't know if it's just dirty fantasies they have, but we're talking about a real human that goes through his tags and fanarts and he could see this. If it's just a sweet fanart (I saw one where it's Mark and Jack cuddling I thought it was nicely draw and moved on), ok. But there's a limit. If I see a fanart (I'm no Internet figure or whatever) of me getting raped by, I don't know, a monster from the sea, I would be disgusted and uneasy about this, and I'm sure that Mark (or any one, unless they're into that stuff) feels the same way.

I guess people can't put themselves in his shoes and understand what that'd be very disturbing and inappropriate. What if someone drew their relative like that? They wouldn't find it cute or funny, at least I hope not

Exactly. If it was their friend, family member, or even themselves being drawn inappropriately by some stranger, with more strangers sharing it and liking it all over the internet, it probably wouldn't be as "cool"SkullFusion wrote: What if someone drew their relative like that? Re: Markiplier - Part 7
I've gone out of my way to avoid most fanartists and fanfic writers pertaining to Mark. Granted some like Monodes I quite enjoy her work and she's a genuinely sweet girl. But there are others who go way beyond respecting Mark and are clearly out for attention or just an excuse to live out their fantasies.
Like the ones who create their own iplier like Darkiplier or princessiplier or something. Ones who claim that they have original characters and thus have free reign to do what they want with them, but clearly based these characters totally off of Mark, thus are writing/drawing all these dirty things about Mark.
And the sad part is I bet a lot of them would either condemn other artists/writers for this kind of behavior, preferably any man who chooses to draw a woman with big boobs Dragon's Crown style, or they'd blindly defend artists like Shuploc who traces all her work and drew a pornographic pic of Mark based off of a picture of him in the hospital.
The hypocrisy and double standards are high with this crowd sadly. Yes it's fine to draw/write what you want, but there should also be a moral compass telling you what is and isn't appropriate, especially if it's based on real life people. If that person has expressed a dislike for being depicted in that fashion, I'd say it's a good idea to stop.

Re: Markiplier - Part 7
New thread, awesome!
No worries, Violet, that happens a lot around here. And I don't really read fanfic because stories written about real people make me queasy for some weird reason, but I'm not about to stifle someone's creativity over it. That said, I've seen some seriously fucked up fanfics surrounding Mark that make me legit wonder if these kids are okay. The fanart, too...that one photoshop of Mark and Jack is burned so deeply into my brain no amount of bleach will get rid of it. And, ironically enough, I ended up catching some snippet of a fanfic very recently where Mark is keeping a 14-year-old girl at his house and trying to keep their romantic relationship a secret. Even more ironic is the fact Yami makes an appearance, admonishing Mark over the relationship. And keep in mind I'm not even looking for fanfic, it just keeps popping up. Yeah I know teens have fantasies about that stuff and some like to share it, but I seriously wonder sometimes...
Anyway, good to see sunny L.A. welcoming him back.

Re: Markiplier - Part 7
14!? That's why I'm concerned about the ages of people writing/drawing some of these things. Plus, if another person around that age or younger comes across something like that, they are probably going to think it's okay if they don't know any better.

Re: Markiplier - Part 7
Well Mark likes the rain, so it works out in his favor, no?
Hopefully we'll be seeing cute pics/vids with Chica soon. I know Mark tweeted about missing her.

That's so true! It's like these people don't know how to stop and realize that it's moraly unnacceptable to draw or write these kinds of stuff. And the worse thing is when they're trapped in that fantasie world.M0nkeeButt2590 wrote: The hypocrisy and double standards are high with this crowd sadly. This is the type of stuff that makes me wonder why is it okay to write and fantasize about it when it would unacceptable if it happened in real life and Mark would be seen as a criminal.
