It was a friend Jennifer Mcguire's recommendation. Still makes no sense and wastes money. But then we wouldn't have that priceless airport footage of bidness wady on the go.

Jennifer McGuire is quite big in the craft world (don't get me wrong, she's no Tim Holtz or Becky Higgins). She started as a nobody blogger, typical hoarder crafter, making cards and craft projects on her blog, tagging onto posts on manufacturer blogs and videos... Trying very hard to 'get noticed' and onto design teams. Eventually Tim Holtz threw her a bone and mentioned her a few times, so she got a bigger following, blah blah... Now she thinks she's all that and a bag of chips.

I'm sure she used Ipso to help focus her online direction (in typical "I want to do me and make money from it" way) but at least has a shtick (crafting) just like that Kristina girl, so the Ipso people probably helped her progress in the right artsy crafty way, got her invites to the right events, lined up meetings with the right manufacturers etc.

Jen, on the periphery of crafting, who watches youtube and likes Scrapbooking would have been aware of Jennifer McGuire and is probably flattered that she (the famous Jennifer McGuire!) recommended the people that helped "brand" her... Even though Jen is not in the same league crafting wise.... She's not really in any league; not housewife, not organizer, not health & fitness... She's just a normal woman with her fingers in every pie, trying to find what gives her joy.

The reason why Jen has the YouTube following she has is because of the vlogs; nothing more, nothing less. People resonated with the stay-at-home, cray cray, shut in. If Jen had any social media sense, she would see that her organized Jen channel, although it has more subscribers, has wayyyyyyyy less total views than her MyHouseWifeLife channel. And it's views that pays the monies, not subscribers. {Subscribers numbers are for vanity, viewing stats are sanity!}

Jen's shtick is being Jen. The nutty, unfashionable, trying her best to go through life, housewife who married into money and was enjoying the ride that money brought.

I know this is from last thread, but Jen & Don's house may have 6 bedrooms, but it is not considered a 6 bedroom house since rooms below grade aren't used in the official count. Also, do they both have windows & closets? I love that she called it a starter house Who was she trying to make jealous with that one? Emily?

It is a cold & rainy weekend here in Chicago (think early November weather. Brrr!!) Wonder what kind of IG photos we will get this weekend? Soup? Winnie in one of her 37 dog beds?

I think she said something to that effect in a video where she mentioned her "mini kitchen home office" which is basically a basket she keeps all of her stuff in (Simple Abundance book, Filofax, journals, etc.) She said in her next house she'd like to have a desk in the kitchen.

I find this SO interesting, especially as after the whole Tosh.0 debacle Jen was quite distressed that he used her precious footage without permission! I have always suspected the Ross Cult tried sueing Comedy Channel unsuccessfully.

I have fantasized about creating an Instagram account where I post pics "inspired" by Jen's, similar to the one someone did during the Italy trip. When Jen posts a boring pic of lilacs, I would too. When she does clouds, so do I, etc. Oh, the fun I could have! I would not be copying or imitating unless I was stealing her entire identity!

It will be interesting to see where her "rebranding" takes her. She has no skills and honestly in my opinion her continued success is due to the amount of lonely and depressed people in the world. They see her as a friend. A friend who struggles as well. And she in inspiring to them because she makes the most menial task a huge accomplishment. Heck the few times I've watched her I feel like the most ambitious person in the world.
