Let me start this by saying that I do not like Shane Dawson. If you want proof of that you can go back in my posts, and Shane read my hate comments about him in one of his videos. Now, I've finished reading through this thread and all of it is the regular gossiping and I could not give less fucks about most gossiping, gossip all day if you wish but I draw the line at accusing Shane of being a "possible child predator". People say this because he makes inappropriate/insensitive jokes from time to time... Quick reminder, you see approximately 7 minutes of Shane's life in rubbish comedy videos, you don't know him and you probably never will. He's a terrible comedian, kind of ugly, and probably won't make it anywhere in his career but please try to refrain from calling him a child predator unless you have legit proof.

I noticed when I'm in a good place in my life I stay away from this website. It is a nice distraction from our personal problems, isn't it? Anyway

I give Shane credit for knowing how to get views. He knows the Youtube game and how to play it. You can see that by going to his "shane" channel and how every video gets 500,000 to 2,000,000 views. He knows very well what he's doing. He puts very little time or money into these videos and you know he's making a lot in return. I know he probably reads here obsessively so hi Shane, the demise of your career is going to be hilarious

Could you list a view examples of when he sexualized minors?
I know he has made inappropriate jokes but maybe I missed a few that truly showed that he might have predatory tendencies?

Shane's "comedy" is dark humor in its worst form. If you want to see proper dark humor then watch George Carlin's stand up. I don't watch very many of Shane's video so maybe I missed a few of his jokes but I have pointed out his jokes about children in the past and you can find those posts if you want. I never looked at it as Shane possibly being an actual child predator but more so him being a terrible comedian trying too hard and being insensitive.

Can you understand why I think it's extreme to label Shane a "possible child predator" because of some of his rubbish jokes though?

I can understand not wanting to jump to conclusions. We don't disuses this though because we hope it ends his career. We discuss it because it is truly disturbing and he needs to stop. Even if he is joking it pedophilia isn't something people tend to find funny. Even when shows like Family Guy make a joke on the subject you get people throwing backlash. There really is no way to make a pedophilia joke funny to the masses and his fans are so simple minded that the laugh because they think they are supposed to. You add the pedophilia jokes with the obsession to porn, masturbation, sex, and animals. It doesn't really make it hard to question things.

I can't remember which podcast it was. Whichever one was the first back from his break after coming out though. He is discussing how he was trying to figure out what he liked and he nonchalantly states something along the lines of "I didn't know if I was into women, men, children..." Jessie sort of stopped him right after he said that and tried to correct him. He didn't say it in a joking way nor did he say it during a funny conversation.

There are many videos where he does creepy things with minors or people almost ten years younger than him. Someone 18-22 might be legal but there is an obvious difference in age that does boarder on disturbing in a lot of ways. If he made one joke one time and that was it we wouldn't still be actively discussing it. It continues though and is really messed up. We aren't discussing it as juicy gossip that we are sitting on.

And now that I looked it up Ricky is 23. I honestly thought he was in high school. BUT I am concerned with how obsessed he is with Trevor Moran (who is 17). Anyone else remember his obsession with Rebecca Black?

Yeah I don't think anyone on here actually thinks he is doing things to children. At least I would hope that he isn't. If you go back and read most of the thread though we have been talking about the subject for a while. Going back into part 4.

We really need to get on that "Shane is gross" compilation thread. I was once (and occasionally still am) a huge fan of dark and cringe humor. Tbh, I've heard plenty of jokes ripped from stand-up routine that still make me suspicious of the comic. Some comics will tell you that their jokes are a reflection of their real thoughts, shaped to be consumed by an audience. It's also no surprise that these dark humor comedians turn out to be fucked up people in their personal lives as well.

Didn't he use the scheduling excuse last year? Or was that when he was bitching he doesn't get invited? He has bashed the youtube rewind videos a lot, last year he was super salty about it. I am seriously doubting he even got an invite.

The really sad thing is the amount of Gen 2 Youtubers who are about as well known as him on paper were invited. I wonder if he will be invited to any of the conventions next year? He had the excuse of having a broken leg this year, even though he went to Disneyland with said broken leg during one of the conventions...

This is what happens when a really fake person lets their ego shine above all else. Forget all the perverted stuff he does other youtubers dislike him because of his personality alone. Which really says something when other youtubers aren't exactly these amazingly kind human beings other. It is an entire community based around the concept of "ME ME ME".

It should also be pointed out that it isn't like the rewind video was filmed in a days time. That probably is at least a month or so worth of filming and what have you. His schedule was so filled that he couldn't take a a couple of hours to stand around and smile for a minute? Sorry but no way was he invited. There are so many "whatstherename" youtubers in that video mixed with the big names. He could have made it if he really wanted and we know he wanted to be in it.

Maybe they're referring to how weirdly obsessed he's with Trevor Moran? or back when he use to daily vlog I remember him being obsessed with Rebecca Black who was 15 at the time I believe and he made a few vlogs about her and I remember him (or maybe it was his mom?) commenting on how big her boobs were but this comment was made a while after he first met her so maybe when she was 16 or 17? Another person he use to inappropriately comment on was Lia Maria Johnson but I honestly can't remember what he'd say tbh.

It can be argued that it's just Shane's type of humor and he genuinely doesn't mean any of it(cause c'mon the pedophilia is a bit too far. His jokes about it are uncalled for still)

In Jenna and Julian's podcast he talks about his underage fans and how they always say they want to "fuck" him and what his response would be to them, it's around the 32:50 mark where he begins talking about it.
