General Shane Dawson Thread - Part 4

Since his apology he has recanted his statement. Shane doesn't think what he did was wrong. The controversy that was attached to him existed way before he made the apology video. His movie however came out a few days before hand and he was paranoid people wouldn't want to see it if he looked like a racist. He actually never did take down all his black face videos. His sister/sister video is still up. He only took down the Wendy Williams video. Plus he has videos of him in dark makeup dressed as the Kardashian's. Which isn't black face but he is still posing as another race of people. So it is just as bad. Not to mention there are videos that confirm Shaynaynay is supposed to be black and either way she more than likely is based on the Martin Lawrence character...

There is a ton of stuff to call him out for outside of his bigotry though. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the guy isn't the sweet and caring guy he makes himself out to be on camera. His time on The Chair proves that. Plus the fact that he supposedly was in a bad place for two out of the three years of his relationship... We also don't know when exactly he came out or if he was in the closet with everyone. The guy loses "friends" every couple of years and we never see them together again.

A guy who is obsessed with Disney Channel and jealous of 16 year olds on the channel at 27 years old has enough material for a tell all written by someone else....

I'm confused too, mainly because I'm only kinda into Shane and Lisa because of their breakup (I know, I know, but I'm entertained!) and I don't have the time for anything but a written summary I can read in like 4 minutes.
What is this REALLY bad stuff he's done?? (Blackface, I know about, him mentioning poop and farts, I know about)
And this dwindling fame thing you guys are talking about is just crazy...he's consistently gaining subs...I'm missing something, probably...

First off a good amount of his subs are bots from back when youtube started as well as people who are inactive and haven't viewed his videos in years. The majority of his new subs come from people who watch him in collab videos. When you have watched him long enough you start to notice the obvious flaws in his personality. He is the male version of Trisha.

-He is racist
-Internally homophobic
-Ignorant towards the difference between cross dressing and transgender
-Uneducated
-Likes to flip the switch on people such as how he supposedly was the first youtuber to write a book. He just so happened to be the first one to get it published, even then he is just the first from that group.
-He has an obvious fecal fetish and talks about porn all the time. If his audience was 20 somethings fine but it isn't. So even if it doesn't offend you looking at porn as a video as much as he does it is just lazy...
-He takes credit for things that he didn't do.
-He is literally obsessed with Disney Channel and hates that Miley Cyrus is more famous than he is. Yet at the same time would love to be her best friend.
-He shit talks every other youtuber and nobody says anything about it.
-He tries to justify why he deserves even more money than he already makes.
-His breakup with Lisa obviously has more to it.
-His youtube friends always go away after a few years and are never spoken of again.

Okay i like shane (most of the time) but these are so accurate it hurts. Another point i would add would be his constant insistence on the lack of money he has, even though we know he could burn it if he wanted to and still would have plenty. another one would be the way he always talks about suicide and the fact he wants to kill himself so lightly without a second thought about people who are actually on the verge of suicide over real reasons other than "This vegan food tastes shit, i want to kill myself" or "I am still fat, i want to kill myself". Like shane has such a good life compared to lots of people, he needs to be a little more grateful.

And this is one of the main problems I have with him. He is 27 years old and has been making big money since he was like 19/20 years old. When he started out he put effort into his videos however as time went on her realized that all he had to do was challenges because it was sufficient of what everyone else did. So he basically is making almost a million a year and is doing even less than a reality TV star. What has he done with the gift he has been given? Nothing... He has never taken any acting classes, never tried going to film school, and never attempted to go to college. He doesn't work a 9-5 job. He has the time to literally do all of these things. Yet he bitches because the new gen isn't in school. Not because he worries about them but because they are competition.

He was completely offended once because his youtube check wasn't for as much as usual. Um... His content for that month included like 15 videos involving him looking at different types of porn, 10 challenges that he half-assed, and videos with a racist whale. He should be happy that they paid him at all. Plus the Vessel thing. He makes it out that he can't survive without this money when in reality he is just lazy and has no ambition.

I had a giggle over the irony of my sub box today.

I'm so glad someone else picked up on this! They upload videos at the same time on the same day so for me they are always together like this. It's happened a few times and it just makes me cringe. Lisa's video is always something that comes across as kind of desperate and some kind of plea for attention from Shane like "who should I kiss?" Etc and Shane's is always something that appears to be completely rubbing her face in him hanging around loads of guys and generally being flirty etc ( not that he didn't do that before) but it's kind of sad to see. I really feel for Lisa. Especially since my boyfriend just broke up with me and started to question his sexuality too. As much as he has fucked me over I can't stop thinking about him :@

I also feel really sorry for Lisa, Shane has always tried to make her jealous by always flirting with guys, From his videos he seems to not give one flying fuck about Lisa, There didn't even seem to be a depressing phase after the broke up, shane talked about it once. Thats it. then he carried on uploading videos with unbelievably misleading titles that turned out to be either a stupid fucking quiz or a vlog including a few lgbt guys that he thinks will attract attention. Joey could be in a Vlog for literally point one of a second and shane would put him in the thumbnail with a clickbait title, then all joeys fans would watch the video and Shane gets more money, bam.

Unfortunately money and fame doesn't buy happiness. Shane makes a million excuses as to why things are not perfect in his life. He could have had things that he wanted but instead of going after them he took the easy way out. The problem is that he still wants those things but has no interest in having to work for them.

Instead he comes up with reasons for why we should feel bad for him. He claims that he didn't come out because his family wasn't accepting. Here is the reality, he moved to LA when he was around 18, started to support himself around 20 in a way where he didn't need his usupportive family, and had a huge group of supporting open minded friends... Well his family after 9 years of supporting them financially are now accepting... but his friends have all abandoned him and all that is left is an equally bigoted whale and a boy who needs a shower and a haircut. Joey is just as big of a user as he is and the rest of youtube gave up on him a long time ago.

He could have gone to therapy along time ago, he could have joined a support group for eating disorders, for LGBT people, for people with alcoholic family members, for whatever... The reality is Shane refuses to fix anything. So he screws people over and they leave him or don't want to deal with him anymore. Which is what has happened time and time again in life. Including when he was on The Chair.

I'm pretty sure it has been shelved without a pilot ordered. It has been two years now? Plus Lauren jumped ship from his life. I think he is trying to get people attached to his original pilot idea where he was in high school again with these "I hate My Selfie" short films...

The one about him being a weight loss center manager was with NBC and Sony and they are notorious for developing pilots that literally go nowhere.

I think he has been over Lisa for a long time. Like he said he moved out last year around May or something. So I think he was pretty much over it by that point. I gotta say, that story Shane told about Lucas Cruikshank/Fred on that "Look at Huh!" show was really weird and inappropriate...first off he says it happened five years ago when he (Shane) was "about 19 or 20" which is wrong as he just turned 27 so if it were just five years ago he would have been 21 or 22. Then he kind of mumbles something about Lucas being about 15 at the time which would be right if this happened seven or eight years ago which would make Shane's initial statement of his own age at the time make sense. I can kind of give him a pass on the discrepancy of a couple of years but if Shane really made a joke to a 14 or 15 year old boy about blowing him when he was already twenty I think he should be locked up. Even if it was just five years ago Lucas was still only 16 or 17 so Shane's behavior was still wildly inappropriate. I can't even fathom why Shane would want to tell that story when it makes him look like a child molester.

Does he think things like that are funny? He has done similar jikes about underaged girls as well (Rebecca Black, Lia Marie Johnson etc.) I would love if all his former friends did a tell all book about him, it would be much better than "I hate myselfie"

Forget the tell-all from one of his ex-friends I'd love for someone to write an article about youtubers and the affect they have on children/ teens. Yes some are actually good people and their content is harmless. Yet a lot of them are essentially nobody versions of the idiot celebrities like Justin Bieber and he Kardashian's. Yet no one outside of this website seems to be complaining about them...
