What is/will be your College Major!?

I'm just curious what everyone would like to / will be / or is currently majoring in!

I'm working on my Bachelor's degree in Marketing, I should graduate sometime next year.
It's taken me a little longer than 4 years because I transferred from community college and wasn't taking 5/6 classes each semester, just the minimum req., so it slowed me down some. I have 7 classes left...UGH!

Anyways, I'm SO close to being done and I'm just now hating the degree I chose. Well, not "hating" it, but just feeling like I should of done something better... or something more interesting, something DIFFERENT. I also feel like I should of double majored/ or added a minor.

So I feel pretty undecided. I have some friends and other people I know that went pre-med, pre-law, pharmacy, etc and I just feel lame for not doing something "significant" like that.

I want to major in nursing and possibly minor in teaching. And I have a question for you, OP. I live right by a really good community college. I don't know whether or not to leave though. I really want to, but my mom isn't for me leaving. Do you like community college?

Elementary Education. My first choice/dream job was to go school to be a Forensic Pathologist (basically what Dr. G does) but... it's 13-15 years of college. I want to have a family before I turn 30 so that wouldn't have worked out plus wonky hours. Sucks because that's my passion but oh well--I'll admire from afar. Second choice (and second passion) was working with kids so I chose EE. I've always been good with kids and I have a really high patience level so I'm totally fine with this major. If I were a dude I would have totally just gone for FP, though.

Ooh, and I'll get summers/holidays/breaks off so that's a plus. ;D

Community college was great IMO, because it was so close to my house and I REALLY did not want to live in a dorm or move. It also was way cheaper, the transition from HS to community college is way easier than HS to straight up university. It was great... I would recommend taking as many classes as you can each semester though (like 5 or 6) if you don't have a job... so you can transfer out quicker, unlike the mistake I made which I ended up being at the CC for 2.5/3 years instead of 2. Plus universities except your credits fairly easily, you'll transfer over and only have 2 years left! I always recommend people to do that. Some differ though, because they think it's not as good of an education... to me there isn't a difference... I'm still getting the same degree.

I guess it depends on your major though and how prestigious you want to be/ seem lol

Yeah pretty much lol. You're either in clinicals or studying. all.the.time. This website is a major stress reliever for me. You do, however, make great friends because you're with the same people all the time, and you're not competing against each other anymore. I really like it, but you have to be prepared for what you're getting into. It will be the 2 hardest years of your college career, but it's rewarding.

Brooke - If you major in nursing, you won't be minoring in anything. Just a warning. There's no way you could minor in anything while working towards a BSN.

Also to all the people thinking about nursing, apply to more than one program. I applied to 4 because every school is slightly different, and you don't know what will work best for you when the time comes or where you'll get in.

Oh thanks, KittyKat! I'm so nervous about college. I'm not even 100% sure about nursing. I'm awful at math and some sciences. I don't want to fail out I'm a junior in high school so I need to choose a career soon.

Yeah, I actually didn't decide on a major until pretty late in the game too. You have plenty of time to figure out a major - just focus on what school you'd like to go to now! Just make sure whatever school you choose has your prospective majors.

I graduated with a Bachelors and Masters in Political Science. Loved every minute of college because I enjoyed my major so much.

I'm currently going for a landscaping and turf associates. I don't know if I'll go beyond that later, but at least I have something that resembles a plan I guess.

I graduated last year with a BSc in information science. It's an interesting field and I'm glad I found it because it fits me perfectly, though I had never really heard of it until uni.
