Her reply to the first comment in the pic is interesting. Maybe I read into it too much but it seems to be what she'd complain about to her family and friends and hope for a "poor Datev" reply. It's like someone is forcing her to upload videos for strangers to watch. I'm sure all those thoughts go out the window when companies want to send you on trips. The fact that she even wrote that reply says a lot, imo.

Her "I don't give a shit" attitude is based firmly on the fact she is under the care of the McCue family. If she was independent and had to pay bills it would be a totally different story

I agree, I'm wondering if she is on the borderline of giving up on the vlogging. maybe they aren't getting the sponsorship or trips they were hoping for. I know that when they spent all that time sweeping their comments of negativity, it really fueled something. I think she honestly had a base of people who liked and enjoyed her vlogs but when they noticed how they treated opposition, people lost patience with her. I think there was also a comment about disliking kevin from one viewer and they said they are unsubbing. its become a mess. and yes, lots of thumbs down. I think in some ways people are passionate about it because they do care for Dot. it is a shame she doesn't see that these "strangers' have a perspective that is honest and clear and for her betterment.

Datev seems defensive, but she's reiterating what she's been saying all along-- that her and Kevin are happy with their lifestyles and they will not change it for the entertainment of people. I thought Datev's response to the (sarcastic?) first comment was interesting. She's basically venting and showing that she's hurt from recent comments on the vlogs. Perhaps she's realized far too late that censoring people will always result in such backlash. I don't think her channel will be able to recover.

I think Dot keeps vlogging as an excuse to avoid getting a real job. What else is she qualified to do? She doesn't have the work ethic or the talent to be an actual filmmaker and she's too spoiled to work for minimum wage. It's easier to sit in a shed day after day waiting for someone else to give her a big break when any successful person will tell you that you have to create your own opportunities. It's funny (in a sad way) that she claims to be inspired by Casey Neistat, who literally has "DO MORE" and "WORK HARDER" tattooed on his arms.

I'm surprised she even knows who Casey is...if I were him I think I'd be embarrassed to have her as a fan. He accomplishes more by accident in one day than she has in her entire "career" and there's an evil part of me that would like to see him slap the crap out of her (okay, not literally) and try to shake some sense into her.

I was looking forward to her spending half the day by herself and without nasally Kevin mouth breathing and saying "Hey, do you like?...... Dot, do you like?" But she didn't vlog hardly at all. Really shows how much she depends on him even just to film just around the garden.

Her responses to those comments are really shocking. She must be having a hard time. It's one thing for her to say she doesn't care what the viewers think if this was just a hobby, but since it's her livelihood she should really either be silent or more gracious.

And LOL to her saying the classic youtuber go-to, "you don't know how hard I work off camera," line. Guess what, Kevin's dad doesn't vlog at all and it's hugely apparent from the few glimpses of him how much work he does. So yeah, we can kind of get a hint from what little is shown.

Her replies are such a mess though... from smiley faces and "I hope you find what you are looking for!" to "sometimes I feel like the last thing I feel like doing is sharing my feelings on the internet with a bunch of people I have never met" and finally "please don't feel the need to put so much time and effort into clicking on our videos if you think we don't deserve it"

The whole thing is passive agressive as fuck. She's basically telling people "fuck you guys, we don't need you" when her viewers are literally HER LIVELIHOOD... Honestly, it was bad enough when they were deleting comments, but now these types of responses are going to alienate viewers even more.

I think those comment replies are revealing Dot's frustration and stress over finances and her failing channel. They've mentioned things over the past week or so and not done them. New camera, no. Trip to Yosemite, no. Trip to find new hot springs, no. Working catering jobs, yes. I think they are broke, especially after traveling to Florida, VidCon and NorCal.

There would likely be even more negative comments if they hadn't already blocked so many people - including me.

I firmly believe a lot of the complaints are justified that are complaining about Datev. There is one point that some of us have hit on already, multiple times.
Datev films because it is easy for her.
Her content sucks lately, and so many times when she is talking about events or things or actions, she knows that she is never actively present in these stories but she uses them anyway and says "we".
Honestly, that is what she does all of the time really irks me and has let me to pretty much stop watching.
It's like she has her own reality confused. I don't know why I feel really strongly about it but I do.

There are soooo many little stories and events she tells that she just tries to take ownership of. She was just talking about how "we were driving and we saw a coyote and we had to break very quickly and almost hit the animal.....honestly if I were driving I don't think I would be able to hit the animal.
That is the weirdest and most confusing story ever....by reading it, it sounds like she is crazy and can not differentiate one experience from the next. Like, no. You were not behind the wheel, you did not spot the coyote and had to break in time...that was not you!!! But the way she tells the story, if you didn't know better you wouldn't know.
And she does that with everyyyything. We live on a farm and we have a bunch of animals and we grow our own vegetables......nononono. You are not those things. You squat on your boyfriends parents land. You act as if the animals are your pets. You assist in planting some seeds. None of these things are yours!!!!.
By acting as if these things are hers and that this is her lifestyle, she makes it that more of a lie!!! Just admit you hang out in a shed you renovated and your boyfriends parents do all the work and you help out sometimes!!! There is NO shame in that. The shame is when you try to deceive people by this weird speech that you have that everything is "we" "we" "we" when it is convenient for you.
By now most viewers know that she doesn't do much of anything in real life. Just....stop pretending to us and to yourself, k?? ughhhh//end rant.
And judging by her responses....yeah she doesn't care at all. Kevin is convinced the shed is a permanent solution and Datev is along for the ride.....as long as she doesn't have to do anything!!!

+OceanRide1 What start? Their job is Youtube, just like Alli, like Jenna Marbles, like Louis Cole etc. They work hard on their own way. And then.. 12 likes. Sorry to say and not your fault, but it's a little ridiculous.

I commented on this (but I'm blocked so it doesn't matter, only Dot and Kev can see my comments - and my comments are under my real name) and so did someone else, but that comment also disappeared.

She seems to have some of her viewers fooled that they are making a lot of $$$$ off YT and living their dream life. They are certainly NOT independently wealthy.

+ladiedottie hey don't worry .... there is a difference between living an independent wealthy life and living a "rich" life .... people that live the "rich" life almost always are in debt upto their eyeballs with their Mcmansions and car lease which costs more than their 3 mortgages and perhaps by the time they are 72 they'll pay them off and then they'll have about 3 years to think about their pensions before they die lol

I saw that comment throwing big youtuber names around like she and Kev are making Pewdiepie cash... no. That hippie dippie bull crap is too much. Being a farmer is hard work. What they have going is a hobby garden. When my mom and I have pickled beets or whatever, we do like 20-25 jars each time and is enough to last through the winter. I appreciate what she seems to be trying to do, but when I see Kevin making his zucchini bread I wonder if he gets grief for using up all the eggs, butter and milk. I also noted someone asked if they could set up a mini fridge in the tiny shed and Dot said it would take all their power. yea. it would blow that extension cord from the house up.

This Tom3030 account is an imposter, me and Patrick Wagz (another viewer) found out, this account is just a few days old and the real Tom who post here sometimes has more than 600 subscribers. If the imposter has blocked the real Tom he might not be able to see what is going on. Maybe we can flag the false one?

If men were treating me like Sunny38 (and obviously others) did on the Internet, I'd hope my parents or friends would step in and tell me the truth - it's not worth making NO money to be jerk-off bait for the world to see. Go work in the film industry, Dot! Right now you seem to be better know in the porn industry!!

You know, I'm torn. On one hand I think that Datev has every right to defend herself in the comment section. It is her channel. But the way she is handling it is essentially telling people to f*ck off. How does she expect to grow if she isn't up to taking constructive criticism? You know simple things like, "Hey maybe you can teach Kevin to steady the camera and not zoom in all of the time." Instead, it's like others have said, she is acting like an absolute brat. As much as I dislike Kevin, I'm wondering if he is the one who is actually keeping things somewhat interesting. (Oooooh, I cringe just typing that.)

The "we" thing is fairly common in couples especially on the woman's side, but in Dot's case I agree that she seems to extend it out to anything that she is present for. She often doesn't seem to differentiate between herself and other people, which is an interesting trait and may be explained by her child-like personality. She is essentially an observer of her own life which kind of explains why she gravitates towards the idea of being a filmmaker but she just doesn't have the discipline to commit to it.
