His initial wording seems like his honest, gut reaction to me. But he does try to put more thought into it so maybe it wasn't shade, just honest opinion. To each their own. If Mark And Jack are getting satisfaction and validation from touring and being around fans, then that's great. I'm guessing Felix doesn't get that satisfaction from it. Maybe that's why he doesn't go to any Pax events anymore.

Back on the topic of merch. I was astounded for the price for what it's composed of and have a lot of opinions but those have been said already. The thing I'm interested about is when people say it's ethically made. I emailed Cloak to ask and got this answer:

CLOAK So are they paying the people an actual wage or is this just another sweatshop type deal. If they had been making them in America or the like I could see the price but this sounds like another Nike thing to me.

On the same note, I emailed them a while back (not sure how to screenshot on a computer) but this is my email and their response:

Hi -- I was hoping you could answer a few questions for me?1. Where are your clothes manufactured?2. Do you have an ethics policy or an environmental policy that I could see? Or at least, are you able to confirm the wages of the workers in the factories, do you visit the workers to ensure their working conditions are adequate and what's the deal with company waste (is it recycled) etc?4. Is CLOAK looking into any memberships with organisations that are looking to improve our carbon footprint or the qualitiy of the lives of the workers?Hope to hear from you soon. Kind regardsToni

Thanks for the email. Our factories are in China. They have to go through in depth audits and testing before we would consider using them for our gear. There are many many of these audits that take place (scheduled and surprise), including to check the conditions for workers and their wages. Our company does go to these factories multiple times a year to check see how our business is being conducted and to verify that everything is ethical, safe and enjoyable for the workers that assist us in making our clothing. I do not know all the names of the testing that is being done but it is extremely thorough and covers all bases. We do not have anything at this time that is written out for the public to view with this information. We appreciate you taking the time to email us. I hope this information helps.

Maybe it's just me, but if I was a new company selling clothes, or whatever, an ethics and environmental policy would be the thing I would have on display before launching, I have a domestic and commercial cleaning company and a pet service/grooming/shop company - both of which have clear policies on the site and links on FB.

I know it's not mandatory, but I'm proud of what I do, where I source my goods and the measures I take to reduce any carbon footprint, and that's why I make sure it's there for people to see as well. It also means I can become a member of various organisations who also share my values (ie certain dog training memberships, eco-friendly cleaning organisations, etc).

So, for me, seeing that they don't have a policy and give out the same generic answer (although I am sure it's more because the customer support person likely doesn't know everything, which is fair enough) just strikes me as weird -- ESPECIALLY when you're charging extortionate amounts for clothes that aren't all that special? Like, at least show something that could help justify £60 for a hoodie that is just so plain? Especially one made in a country where a "good wage" is around the $3/hour mark (at least from what I've read - so I could well be wrong).

I agree that the passion isn't what it used to be. He's definitely struggling to find games for the channel and the ones he does find are hit or miss. Most of them don't get many views so he abandons those games and tries to find something else. Or he does non-game stuff like the Funniest Home Videos which seem to be popular.

I can see how it's hard to stay passionate when the feedback is lukewarm. Switching to non-gaming videos might be good occasionally to get out of the gaming rut. At least it works for Pewdiepie.

I just hope he doesn't go nuts with Ego stuff because I think only a small part of his audience cares about the Egos or even know about them.

anyone else think the editing and thumbnail for Jack's new video was really... crappy? thumbnail looked really low effort and the editing was not only different, but what you might see with a smaller and newer youtuber doing there own edits. Was all just really cheap dead meme jokes. someone in the comments mention the difference in editing and suggested it could be an Ego thing with Chase. The playthrough itself was good, everything else was very bleh.

Ugh, really hope the stupid blurring between Ego and Creator isn't the route Jack is going down like Mark. personally I like the ego stuff, but hate this type of content. It's not at all clever and makes everything seem contrived.

Agreed that it's contrived. I liked the egos as characters that he used in videos just for fun. The coma, the horror aspects, the amnesia, the fighting for control over Jack, it all ruins the initial fun of the characters.

Like I think it would've been fun to have Schneeplestein play Two Point Hospital or more Power Hours with the egos. But no, now anytime they show up, it has to be part of this weird story about saving Jack or taking him over.

I used to love watching Jack, but lately he's really grating on me. His Life is Strange 2 and his Deltarune videos are the most frustrating things ever. He's earning bank for playing games, I'm not expecting perfection but his absolutely stupidity with simple tasks is astounding.

I would definitely love to see the things you suggested. Ego playthroughs are fun.

hope I didnt give that impression. Still very much enjoy watching Jack, beside Mark he's my fav Youtube. because I'm so invested I feel the need to come here and rant about things that irritate/disappointment me. overall still enjoying the channel. like I said the actual playthrough of the video I was talking about is good. He seems to genuinely enjoy it.

The vagueness is definitely annoying. I'm tired of everyone flipping out each time he says anything that could hint at an ego. But it also seems to be a problem for him and Robin because they're aware that they can't do certain things without the fanbase screaming about egos even when it isn't.

I still enjoy his videos despite my complaining about the egos. He's always said that he's not good at games and has trouble focusing so I'm not bothered when he misses things and screws up. His personality and humor are what makes the videos enjoyable for me. Deltarune was really good and Doodle Date was hilarious. His God of War playthrough was great because he did well in the game, he was funny, and he added interesting information about mythology and game design. I wish he could do more playthroughs like that but I guess it depends on the game too.

Not sure if anyone else saw this, but in his Part 1 Spiderman DLC playthrough, around the 25min mark, he makes some joke about MJ being jealous (she;s basically jelous that Spiderman called the black cat lady by her first name - Felicia). Jack then went on saying how "everyone gets jealous" and "as long as peter tells her he loves her enough, everything will be okay". And then the kicker for me was when he goes "wait, Peter, have you actuially told MJ how you feel? She might be out of your life if you're not careful."

I did enjoy his deltarune videos once I finished, but i still got aggravated by a lot of his stupidity. "Which one of you needs this healing the most?" he says as he's staring at two health bars and one has blatantly more red in it than the other. OR making Ralsei attack because he doesn't realise he can spare with Ralsei straight after or Defend to get more TP if needed.

I'm not asking for him to never ever make mistakes and be perfect. I loved Undertale and Paper's please and my GOD did he make a lot of mistakes in those, but it was fun. But it seems excessive recently.

With LIS2 I was just annoyed at him contradicting himself (saying he wasn't looking forward to it because Max and Chloe aren't in, then in the next sentence saying Before the Storm wasn't good. Saying the voice acting is bad then saying he's not saying the voice actors are bad). And just complaining about things which came about because of a choice he made and him not realising. It's not him making choices that are different to me I hate, I actually like to see the other options people pick, it's the whole "huh why did this happen?" later on, and then him making a snipe at the characters as if it came out of nowhere.

There's other stuff that aggravates me, like him saying Bae ending is canon (not because it was his opinion, he literally forgot the choice he made when asked at the start of LIS2 and thought that it wasn't a choice) and saying that Deltarune is a prequel because he doesn't take things in (character clearly being older, Asriel being alive, certain characters not knowing each other when they did in UT, the latter of which he missed because he "didn't care about the character and it's just flavour text").

i'm probably just being nitpicky, but I used to enjoy his videos and I feel like something has changed and it feels off and I'm more annoyed by him lately. Maybe I'm just getting grumpy as I get older lol.
