My theory is, those guys who he's working with to make Storytellers are youtubers right? So he probably figured he wouldn't need to hire professionals he just used the first "film company" that popped up in his head, they gave him the 100K price estimate and Joey ran with it. I'm sure there are better film crews out there who are cheaper but don't have the credits.
I hope I made sense, it's 1:23 am right now and I'm tired.

Re: Joey Graceffa Part 5
Joey also posts nearly every day with each video hitting at least 200K views, whereas Dan as of late posts maybe twice a month. I don't really think Joey makes 500K a year, but I think he probably makes a bit more than Dan.illegal_mind wrote:i find that hard to believe. i saw someone who made an estimate of how much danisnotonfire makes per year and the result was around 38k and dan is almost at 2 million subs with MANY videos with over 1 million views. there is no way that joey and sawyer make 6 digits
Re: Joey Graceffa Part 5
Well let's see, Joey is averaging over 500,000 views/ day right now on his channel overall. If he gets the average $3 / CPM (CPM = cost per mille or basically $3 for every 1,000 views), that's $1,500/day, or over $500,000/year (before taxes). If you factor in federal income tax, FICA, self-employment tax, and state tax, he keeps about $250,000 - $300,000 of that after taxes. Not too shabby.daisy16 wrote:Joey also posts nearly every day with each video hitting at least 200K views, whereas Dan as of late posts maybe twice a month. don't forget that google takes a cut and so does his network. so it'd be a bit lower than that

As an aside, I was in a gay neighborhood in my city earlier, and the number of boys wearing stripey tank tops, and maroon tight shorts was quite surprising! Reminded me of a certain someone...

Re: Joey Graceffa Part 5
yes, it's accumulative. that's pretty much how people like charlieissocoollike make money even tho he lost his popularity and doesn't have a network. as long as you have adblock or any ad blocking thing disabled, the views will be monetized

Well Youtubers do seem to get a lot of opportunities. Hopefully if he is smart he will find something more stable that he can fall back on when this whole Youtube thing is over. I hate to use this as an example but Elle and Blair are pretty smart for taking all of these opportunities with their makeup line, book, and phone case line. They're planning for the future. I can see Joey being some type of host for a small show either on television or online. He may not be the best at acting but he has a good personality and face for tv.
Re: Joey Graceffa Part 5
Oh yeah, good point ... I always forget about that. But remember I think he also earns some income from Teen.com, and he does occasionally do sponsored videos as well.illegal_mind wrote:don't forget that google takes a cut and so does his network. so it'd be a bit lower than that

Yeah like he seems good for something like what Tyler Oakley is doing for MTV. I just don't think Joey is one to think ahead, and actually make smart decisions like that.Jessy wrote:Well Youtubers do seem to get a lot of opportunities. Re: Joey Graceffa Part 5
I don't know who is making these estimates about how much Youtubers are making but if you go on socialblade.com, the channel danisnotonfire is bringing in about 315,000 USD/year and amazingphil is making about 257,000 USD/year. These numbers are in the middle of the range guessed by socialblade. If you use that website for the channel joeygraceffa, $500,000/year is right in the middle of its yearly salary estimate. The lowest number in the range estimated is $103,000 so Joey is making at least 6 figures. And that's not including the money from teen.com and his gaming channel (whose median estimate is $171,000/year). As a single man, living as a roommate with someone, with virtually no student loans (he was only in college for a year), he should easily be able to foot the last bit of the money. I mean, I get that living in LA is expensive, but it's impossible to blow that kind of money on green smoothies. He has to have some savings.

Re: Joey Graceffa Part 5
yeah, tyler oakley is very in your face, he was tweeting about teen wolf and that's how mtv got him to interview the cast. he's a massive fangirl, and that's why sugarscape (british teen magazine turned website) got him to write for them. tyler actually does know what he's doing and he isn't afraid to get whatever gets him money. yeah, he has done some shit that make people hate him, but he's good at planning his future. with all the outside youtube things he does, he probably makes way more than any youtuber near his range of subs.
thing is, i'm not sure if joey would do the type of things tyler does. if joey is told by his network "do this because money, sponsor, publicity" he'll just do it, but he's not really the go getter type of person, as we can see for his "i'll just do another fundraiser instead of working out a better way to fund my project" attitude, if joey's "projects" don't work, he's fucked

he used to do things for teen way more last year he used to go to premieres and red carpet events and interview celebs all the time. now he doesn't seem to do that, he only seems to be doing the pranks and the pwnd videos (i don't watch teen's youtube, but i think that's what he's doing with meghan, unless they do more now). joey vlogged every time he went to interview a celebrity, before and after the interview. he hasn't done that in quite a long time, which makes me assume he hasn't done any interviews in a while. that job at teen, as an interviewer, could actually get him places. ffs tyler oakley was on e!entertainment, he's been interviewing the teen wolf cast and doing whatever else, if joey worked on being a presenter instead of an actor, he could be doing the type of things tyler's been doingKleineganz wrote:Oh yeah, good point ... i don't think socialblade takes into account the money that's lost from people who use adblock. i know they don't count on google's and the network's cut of it either. so social blade is just an estimate of the money the youtuber might be making based on current views, they don't have certain info, like people using adblock, and parts that go to other people. but yes, even after taxes, google's and alloy's cut, and minus the views that weren't monetized, he still has enough money to put in his own projectyummycinnamoncereal wrote:I don't know who is making these estimates about how much Youtubers are making but if you go on socialblade.com, the channel danisnotonfire is bringing in about 315,000 USD/year and amazingphil is making about 257,000 USD/year. Re: Joey Graceffa Part 5
The socialblade estimates are between $2 - $5 CPM, and I did my estimate based on a $3 CPM, which is fairly average. However I did forget about the YouTube cut (which is around 40%) and the network cut (which is an Additional 40%). So if you take that into account ... $500,000 * 60% = $300,000 * 60% = $180,000. So if he's earning a gross of $500,000 from his videos, after the YouTube and network cuts, he's left with $180,000 (still a 6-figure income, but not nearly as impressive as $500,000). Then on top of that he pays taxes, so that brings him down to around $100,000 or so (give or take).yummycinnamoncereal wrote:I don't know who is making these estimates about how much Youtubers are making but if you go on socialblade.com, the channel danisnotonfire is bringing in about 315,000 USD/year and amazingphil is making about 257,000 USD/year. Now we don't know how much he earns from teen.com, any sponsored videos he makes, or even what he may have earned from the Amazing Race (I'm sure all the players get a base income while they are in the race), so perhaps for 2013 he'll net $200,000+ at the end of the day with all those extras.

Re: Joey Graceffa Part 5
I do think that Joey could make a good host, but he's never going to get what Tyler has. Say what you want about Tyler, but the boy is not stupid. He sees an opportunity, and he latches on to it until he gets what he wants. Joey has neither the drive or the foresight to accomplish that.

Re: Joey Graceffa Part 5
ok, so buzztube made an article about the rumors of why joey left anthony and kalel's house http://www.buzztubeonline.com/2013/07/1 ... qus_thread
the possibilities are what we discussed here, so that's not really interesting, but they did post about the house. so here's the part that actually has some interest
"We anonymously received these pictures of Anthony Padilla and Kalel Cullen’s new house in our tip email. According to Zillow.com it was purchased on 2/28/13 for $920,000. It’s estimated value is $1,327,728. It has 4 bedrooms, 2.75 baths and is 2,346 square feet."
the house looks more impressive on the inside than the outside tbh. i think it's best feature is the giant backyard (of the 4 bedrooms, kalel and anthony's and joey's were probably the only ones that had a bathroom so that's probably joey was living in that broom closet)

I found the Zillow listing lol, debating whether I should post their address or not.
Did Kalel and Anthony actually buy that house then or are they renting?

Anthony is a millionaire from SMOSH... What do you think? Of course he bought that house. Probably paid for it in cash. No mortgage payments. Just paid in full up front would be my guess.
