Dan and Phil's film recs

Post by Spicyhottea »

I hope people don't find this thread too redundant, I know we already have one for music but they seem to watch a lot of films. And half the time I forget the ones they've rec'ed so thought I'd try and start a thread.

Has anyone else seen The Room? What's the big deal about it?

Also, here's a few I had in a note file on my phone that they've mentioned and said they enjoyed:

The Conjuring
Interstellar
The Revenant
Bird Man

ooh new thread. the dan and phil forum is ever expanding :tu:

some ones to continue your list:
star wars
unfriended (can't remember if they enjoyed this one or not? phil might have said it was funny or something)

could this thread also include their tv shows and anime recs? since they're all visual forms of entertainment. if so, off the top of my head:
true detective
american horror story
sherlock
game of thrones
homeland
i'll leave anime to someone who actually knows something about them because my knowledge ends at knowing of the existence of free!, attack on titan and fullmetal alchemist
sarcasm is the highest form of wit

awww I like that they seem to be Jake Gyllenhaal and Michel Gondry's fans :D I approve!
Thanks for the pic of their dvds. Some of these are surprising to me tbh like "The dreamers". I wouldn't have expected them to have that!

For TV shows there is also:
Friends
Angel (the Buffy spin off)

For the Room, I haven't seen it but here is the wikipedia of it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Room_(film) Basically it just looks like a trainwreck that gained cult following because it was literally so bad.

Also here is a vid of Dan talking about the "trilogy of sadness" he ordered aka The notebook, Grave of the fireflies :boohoo: and BB Mountain (and also say he loved Life of Pi)

Thanks for creating this thread, I am so pumped up, i love movies!!

Not really recs but in the tinder video Dan had a picture of him next to his book shelf and so far I've managed to find the Game of Thrones Series and 'The Politics Book'.

Also Dan/Phil recommended some books here. http://www.omnivoracious.com/2016/12/p- ... eview.html

So in Dan's videos I've seen the GoT series behind him sometimes, and as for Phil, he showed us his bookcase in one of the sleepless nights- lots of Stephen King, a book by Carrie (Another youtuber) Seconds by Brian Lee O'maley, a copy of Wreck This Journal, the Hunger Games, two books from the maze runner trilogy (Couldn't really see which title) a Japan tourist book, the book of MAGIC, Lovesick by Jessie Cave and Binge by Tyler Oakley. There were a few more but they were too blurry for me to recognise. Also, in one of their old ditl Phil got a book called 30 seconds by the same person who wrote Scott Pilgrim vs the World (If I'm not mistaken).

I'm sure they've read so much more than this, but this is what I saw for now ^^ Hope I helped

It annoys me to no end that Phil had some "something amazing he'd been working on for a while"
