The Basics

Who are the shaytards?
A youtube vlogging family who have recorded daily videos of their lives for the past 5 years.

Why do they have tard names?
Something to do with Unitards and possibly how a viewer said they were getting “shaytarded”. At the time Shay wanted to keep the kids names private so he decided on the tard names. He has since been using the birth names more often.

Who are Shay and Colette?
Shay is the father/husband of the family, Colette the mother/wife. They have 5 kids.

Who are the kids? Names? Age?
Sontard - Gavin - 10

Why are they so popular?
They were just a normal family in Idaho who were able to go on this crazy youtube ride to fame.


Religion / Family Questions

What religion are they?
Mormon / Latter Day Saints

Is Carlie Colette’s sister wife?
Yes. (In all seriousness, Carlie is Shay’s sister who he has a weirdly close relationship to)

Are all of the Butlers devout Mormon?
Yes, they are all very religious. But it can be argued that Logan and Carlie aren’t as devout as Shay, Casey, Laurie, Carl.

Who else is on youtube from the Butler clan?
So the Butler family is Laurie and Carl as the head of household. Then they have Shay, Casey, Carlie, and Logan as kids. Shay has 5 kids, Casey has 3, Carlie has 1.

What about Colette's family?
We don't see much of them. Colette's mom passed away when she was young. We see her family from time to time in the vlogs. Her sister Callie has a youtube channel where she sings.

Are Carlie and Logan bf/gf?
The Butlers are all weirdly close with one another. Logan is dating Morgan, Carlie is dating Steve. (Logan and Steve 5eva)

Who is Casey?
Casey is Shay’s brother. He has a few youtube channels himself and daily vlogs as well.

Who is his wife and kids?
Casey is married to Kayli. They have 3 kids, Brailee, Gage, and Winston.


Carlie Related Questions

Who is Carlie?
Shays sister. She is 26 years old and has one child.

Who is her child?
Cooper is her son. He is 6 years old.

Is she married? In a relationship?
She was married to Christian, who is Cooper’s dad. She is now dating her on again off again boyfriend Steve Cook.

Why is she fucking insane?
No one knows. She has the maturity of a 10 year old. General theory is that she gets it from the troll (laurie).


Logan Related Questions

How old is logan?
19 years old

Didn’t he go on a Mission?
Yes, he went on a mission to Buenos Airies. He only stayed ~2 months.

Why did he come back early?
No one really knows, but apparently it was because he hadn’t confessed to something, and the people who run it found out.

What happened with his dog?
Logan got a puppy named Jackson, he is going away to college so he made plans for Casey to keep the dog. Laurie/Grandmatard/Troll took the dog and sold it back to the pet store.


Maker Studios Questions

What is Maker Studios?
A company Shay, Lisa, Kassem, Rawn, Dan, and Ben started in 2009. They are a youtube management type of company. Disney bought the company for 500 million, with the possibility to make it 950 million depending on performance.

How much money did Shay make? Is he a millionaire?
It is speculated that Shay has been a millionaire since before the sale of Maker. We do not know how much money Shay made off the sale, but if he just owned 1% of Maker, it would be 5 million, so it’s obvious it was a lot of money.


Move Related Questions

Why did they move to Idaho?
They bought Butler Compound, so they are going to live there. They are also closer to family there and real estate is a lot cheaper than in LA.

Butler Compound?
The 200+ acre thing Shay bought where his family and Casey’s family will be living in. It is HUGE. 9 Bedroom house for Shay and Casey will be living in the guest house on the property.

Will they have horses? A pool?
I don’t know. Shay has mentioned horses. So maybe. They might get a pool, the house is currently being renovated so who knows.

Will they still be in LA?
Yes, they have kept an apartment in LA and will be flying back and forth for Maker and shoots they may have to do.

How did you find his house?
Theres a magical place on the internet called google. If you know what to search for you can find information on anything and everything. Also, Shay vlogged it a while back when he was flying over Pocatello.

Can you link me his house? What's the address?
It's against the rules to give it out.

Why are they Mormon?
If you want to discuss religion there is a specific thread for it. It is the religion they choose to follow, it should not affect you.

OMG is ____ autistic/have mental and or psychological issues!?
Grow up. Kids hit milestones at different times. You can not diagnose a child from a little quirk they do in a 10 minute video. It’s absolutely insane.

I spotted a small error. The house has 8 bedrooms not 9. Also, it might be smart to add dates/birthdays next to ages and years listed as it can be a pain to constantly update all of those every time someone has a birthday or a year goes by vlogging and what not.

No, Rawn isn't one of the co-founders, so I don't think he got any money from that deal.

So the house that is being renovated right now , is for casey and shay? Or is it only shays house and they have a another house together as a guest house?

On the new compound that Shay has bought there are two houses: the main one with around 7-8 bedrooms that is currently not being lived in and is in the middle of renovations but will eventually be for Shay, Colette and the tards; and a secondary house with around 3-4 bedrooms that is almost finished apart from a few things and in which Casey, Kayli and their kids are living and will continue to live. There is also a workshop that will be turned into a studio for podcasts and the Mom's View etc on the property and possibly other outbuildings.

The Shaytards are living in their old house in Pocatello itself at present as far as I know along with Trolltard (Laurie), Grandpatard (Carl) & Logan. When they move into their new house as far as I know this house will revert to being just Laurie, Carl & Logan's house (although Logan is going to college in Utah this year so he'll likely move away). Carlie & Cooper have their own house/condo on a separate property from both the Shay/Casey compound and Shay's old house (Trolltard's abode).

I think most people know...so funny that last year she had the nerve to go off on miley cyrus for dancing provocatively at 21, when she was a pregnant teen (got pregnant at 19, had him at 20)..."religious" yet unwed and who had an eating disorder up until she got pregnant.
