Her immediate family enables her to be the lazy, mooching loser that she is. If my mom saw me driving like the wreckless, seatbeltless, red light running maniac that Gabs is... she’d definitely knock some sense into me no matter my age! You best believe I’d be wearing my seatbelt after that.

To me that speaks volumes of the way Gabriella has been parented. PP appears to be more concerned with being her daughters BFF than parent. We can assume that PP has taken this piss poor approach to her daughters morbid obesity, fearful of traumatizing her precious, delicate daughter with more “fat shaming”.
