I am not saying she isn't having a hard time with her self-diagnosed IBS.

But I always thought she copies everything Hannah does. When they did that Drunk Advice collab years ago, suddenly Melanie's channel featured sexuality related content, which she hadn't done before.
When Hannah starter her Hormone Diaries, Melanie started her PMS parties.
Now that Hannah has something new to talk about given her new life with a stoma etc, Melanie, without being entirely sure what she had, was sure to mention that only HANNAH WITTON knew what was going on but said nothing else in the matter. Now she has IBS, she thinks (I dont know if she WAS diagnosed) and is going to try to make this her new youtube thing.

That being said, if she does have IBS, I hope she gets the medication and treatments she needs and I hope it doesn't get worse for her. Any chronic illness is a freaking pain and I feel for anyone who has to deal with one.

She won another award? Her film wasn’t even very good. I only think it won because of the subject matter. That happens with bad films all the time because the subject matter is like important or whatever. So annoying.

No it was a little while ago, at Buffer festival. I meant I only just found out about her not voting. And you’re probably right about the content / theme matter of the film giving it an unfair priority, that and that it was so timely at the moment of buffer festival. I’m stil flabbergasted she had the audacity not to vote after that. Reflects the “film making” side of YouTube so well. Obsessed with trends, utterly shallow.

Right, Melanie is a complete drama queen. IBS, yes, it is real and causes issues with your stomach, not like GERD or Ulcers and what poor Hannah is suffering from, so when she puts her stories up saying how she feels for people who have long term illnesses, she needs to watch her mouth. Most IBS is not a long term illness, it can be treated fairly easy, unlike her friend Hannah's condition, which is genuinely hard. Melanie expects all the attention to be on her non-stop, which I am not convinced of seeing her behaviour. Honestly, the girl is an attention whore. She wants reasons and drama to connect to her followers, who I assume are all much younger? She needs to start growing up, learn how to drive, start taking responsibilities and thinking that she can live a life of sitting, pretending to be a serious author, going to conventions to get dressed up, go to cafe's to sip latte's and enter the real world, where the rest of us reside.

I just want to say that IBS IS a long term illness which people have for the rest of their lives. There is no cure for IBS and it's VERY difficult to treat for a lot of people. One of the hardest parts about having IBS is the stigma faced by people who think that IBS isn't that significant when it actually is - it's a huge misconception. (just like how Mel said she used to roll her eyes when her relatives were talking about it and didn't get it until now).

I've lived with severe IBS for a very long time and that condition does NOT give me a break. It was suspected that I did have Colitis (what Hannah has) due to the severity of my symptoms and the fact that runs in my family but I don't. Some of the complications of IBS are poor quality of life and mental health problems. It's REALLY difficult and real so please do not discredit Mel's experiences because IBS isn't this small non-impacting illness. A specialist genuinely told me that Colitis is easier treated (minus complications) than IBS is.

(Note: btw I know IBS isn't comparable to IBDs, that's not what I'm saying)

I just want to reply to let you know u know, I have IBS, Gerd and am Hypothyroid which is a lifelong illness that I have to take medication for, for the rest of my life. I'm not knocking people with IBS as someone with it, I'm knocking Melanie for constantly making a drama out of everything, making out she is the only person suffering from anything, that no one else has it as bad as her attitude. That is what is irritating and grates on my nerves, as I have it and have to get on with my life, even when it's painful, along with my Hypothyroidism which drains all my energy and many other symptoms it causes along with having Gastritis too, all those things those make my day hard but I have to get on with it, not constantly post online about it and make out I'm the only person suffering, especially when I see my neighbour who has heart failure, I know I need to grow up and be thankful. She just needs to start acting more mature than she is, she is being very childish.

She is still in her dad's house, and says she is ''saving to buy us a house''. I doubt even with all her sponsored stories and ads, and ad revenue, she is not making enough to buy a house here in Ireland. The average house where she is (Skerries), would cost her over 200K. I doubt she has anywhere near that amount of money. Maybe enough for a deposit, but I think she would need something more stable than being a Youtuber to get bank to agree to lend her money with a job title like that. Perhaps her dad could.

Her "IBS" conveniently happened just in time for the most important women's rights referendum Ireland has ever had. It gave her an excuse not to travel home for the referendum. Now the heat is off her, she is magically cured of her "IBS".

It's so insulting to people who genuinely do suffer from a chronic illness like IBS. They have a chronic illness, yet they get on with their lives. They don't use their chronic illness to gain internet sympathy and dodge responsibility. Gah, I hate Melanie

Her and Lucy Moon both claim to have quite vague stomach issues that rear their heads at convenient times and cause them to “go gluten free” or whatever. I don’t know how Hannah Witton stays friends with them! (For those that don’t know she has had severe troubles with ulcerative colitis and had to have her colon removed at the start of the year)
