Re: Monami Frost
I VERY strongly dislike her. I am a heavily tattooed and straight edge person and I just can't stand her.

Re: Monami Frost
Yeah, I went to the first videos Monami has posted and where Gabriella is too (1 yr ago). No front teeth and no front teeth on the newest video either. Is that normal? If they were milk teeth and got knocked out, would there still be no signs of permanent teeth growing? How old is she? 6 or 7? Aren't the front teeth first of the permanent teeth to grow?nikkiblast wrote:Her daughter has had her two front teeth missing for 3 years already...think they were knocked out

Re: Monami Frost
^ + i feel like it's affecting her speech, she's been pronouncing words improperly for quite a long time, using her toothless upper gums as support with her tongue or bottom teeth instead of pushing off the roof of her mouth when pronouncing Ls and Ms and Ns etc
Re: Monami Frost
Just so you know.. In latvian ethnography there are a lot of strong symbols and 'swastika' is one of them, except that latvians don't call it that. It is true that Hitler gave a negative association to this sign but for latvians it is still a part of their culture. For them it is 'Pērkonkrusts' in translation it menas a thunder cross. Thunder is considered to be one of the Gods latvian pagans believed in. Thunder has always been a good to pagans and after long winters thunder was the one who gave a sign that it is time to start farming. It also symbolizes light, fire and life.QueenRayanna wrote:I was thinking the same thing with her leg tattoos. She gets these nice pieces just to get them, no meaning behind them. Which is fine, but it damn, not to mention she has a swastika tattoo...yeah yeah it had a different meaning before Hitler claimed it. Doesn't mean you should get it on your body.

Re: Monami Frost
My sister knocked her two front teeth out when she was 5 or 6 and the permanent teeth didn't come in until she was 8 or 9. The teeth will come in when they're ready.nikkiblast wrote:Her daughter has had her two front teeth missing for 3 years already...think they were knocked out

Re: Monami Frost
Her recent video where she talks with her daughter about tattoos she wants legit brought tears to my eyes. Say what you want about her but I really think she's a great mother and Gabriella is the sweetest little girl I've ever seen, and so smart too.
''Well, look who I ran into,'' crowed Coincidence.
''Please,'' flirted Fate, ''this was meant to be.''

Re: Monami Frost
This is a trash thread & I don't know much yet, so does anyone know much about her back story?
Like what would lead a 13 year old to get tattooed and pierced and then pregnant a year or two later? I know she's open about the results, but what lead a child to that? Has she been open about any of the why? It blows my mind. My nephew is 16 and my niece is 14 and I can't imagine them being parents, or permanently modified. I appreciate a good come-back story, but damn! I'm shocked

Yup, I've been wondering the same thing. I'm her age and was also trying to be emo or "scene" when I was 13, but my parents wouldn't let me get piercings, let alone tattoos. Maybe they just don't care much about her? But by the way she talked about her mother, I assumed they were close, so I'm confused
I do have to add that I like to watch her and have nothing against her(or anybody elses) body mods, it's just that I don't know anyone who went down her path without some serious family drama/personal issues.

Re: Monami Frost
Based on what she says in her straight edge vid, I think she just had a rough youth, maybe a sketchy circle of friends, but definitely she used to drink and party a lot as she explains on the video. She says that "she is alcohol and drug free", so I assume she used to do drugs too. Maybe it's just that Latvia and where I live are very close/maybe the "teen culture" is similar, idk, but I know a lot of people who were reckless as teens, did pierce themselves and get secret tattoos etc. My friend pierced a Marilyn when she was 14 lol, and many girls had their tongue or belly buttons pierced. I also know (perhaps alarmingly...) many teen moms. I'm the same age as Monami so maybe it's just being a kid of depression. Drinking underage (13-17yrs old) is pretty common (Or was?). Also many girls who are close with their moms especially can rebel pretty brutally to get distance. Don't know anything specific about Monami though, my only guess is that she had a bit more rough teen years than most.

Re: Monami Frost
I became an apprentice at 16, but at least that is a step toward being an adult (turning 16) and definitely not the same as actually getting tattooed or creating a life. I was around that lifestyle and only got pierced until I turned 18 when I could get tattooed legitimately.
I guess young people keep rapidly getting/acting older.

Re: Monami Frost
She talks about her first tattoo/being 14 in her newest video. If not watched yet, she says that her mom did/does care but Monami was just so out of control.
Re: Monami Frost
I felt like she read her GuruGossip thread before filming, because she mentioned her parents being great and that they did care about her while we(well, mostly me hah:D) were assuming here that something weird must have been going on between them/with her in young adolescence. Nothing against her reading here, I feel like this thread isn't very harsh and I like that she adressed it. Would love to see more of the "personal" types of videos from her, maybe even a tag to get to know her more, because I do enjoy watching her(especially the vlogs, not a fan of the makeup looks, because they're too "out there" for me)

Re: Monami Frost
She was super young getting pierced and tattooed but I don't think it's that unusual. My mother was strict with me but I still had piercings young, I had my nose and lip pierced at 15 and got tattooed the second I turned 18. My friend also came from a super good and close family and she had facial piercings at 13. Some kids are just going to do it regardless of what their parents say - they can make you take them out but you'll just get them done again. I don't think that reflects on her mother

Re: Monami Frost
I've also said I was an apprentice at 16 and got pierced & then tattooed on my 18th birthday. But I can't imagine having a kid that old fresh in your 20s. But maybe that was the thing she needed to calm her down and save her life.
This is a trash thread after all, so does she have a praise thread? Cause I feel like this thread is extremely haphazard on where it's going. Has she done anything problematic? Is she still OK to follow? I haven't heard much awful from her. I was just curious about her life.

Re: Monami Frost
Did you guys watch the video about Gabriela's teeth Yeah, I'm sure it was the milk that rotted them...
What she's talking about is a mere hypothesis that hasn't been proven to be true. I'm no dairy advocate but research done on the topic makes the "milk causes acidity and leeches calcium from bones"- hypothesis seem pretty implausible. There's something in milk that may cause fractures and rn it is believed to be lactose, which means dairy product without lactose is just fine. Drinking excessive amounts of milk causes excessive consumption of lactose which might cause problems... But then again, eating anything excessive amounts is hazardous.
My frustrations with the vegan community is just that, talking vaguely about studies and believing them biased cus they side with your belief. Imo it doesn't matter if milk is healthy or not if your stance is that eating animal by products is unethical, period. What does it change that you desperately want animal by products to be unhealthy? You have your devotion, it's all that should matter? I don't understand. Vegan diet is better than many but not optimal. Doesn't make it wrong. It's about your choice.
My point is, it seems very unlikely that milk rotted her teeth, taken there were many other things to take in consideration too. Insisting so makes Monami seem foolish.
Also, I've never heard of teeth having to be pulled out at just 3 yrs old. Maybe it's more common that I think, just not where I live? ( Ironically in a country that absolutely abuses milk lol.) Seems like a very drastic procedure, she has lived her whole life without front teeth!

Re: Monami Frost
Sorry db, but just to add: Yeah, looks like bottle rot because it's only the front teeth, but it wouldn't matter if the milk was almond or normal/anything else as long as it contains sugars.
