It is not illegal to resell products that you buy from China so long as you advertise properly. Not all products bought from AliExpress are branded. For example, companies like Forever 21 and H&M have wholesale contracts with China and sell those imported products.nattydread wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 11:24 pmUnfortunately, it is not illegal for her to do this. I did a quick google search and it seems like a lot of people do this as well to make $$$$$. Too bad...I also saw that Aliexpress brand their products so wouldn't Ylette's customers know this if it's branded on the jewelry??? She should be upfront to her customers that they are buying cheap shit.Ms_Anonymous wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 10:11 amAbsolutely! I still haven’t figured out how to go about it but we should definitely report her!Katrinag1016 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 9:33 amYlette's business is buying from Wish, Aliexpress, whatever for $1-4 and then reselling it for $40-77. This is outrageous! Is this something to report to the BBB-or no?
However, it IS illegal to falsely advertise your products as custom jewelry and the product of certified jewelers, as she states on her website. False advertising is a crime in the state of Florida per Florida Statute s. 817.40(5). There is also potential liability for fraud.
It would ultimately require a jury to determine whether either of those occurred.
