a girl in my freshman comp english class looks a lot like kai. same face shape and nose and all. though she is very smart and weighs less than me (im not rly in shape but I guess I still am oodles smaller than kai so); their similarities end there.

on the other hand I was friends in middle school with perhaps the "hambeast" of our school. when I saw her again in high school during our freshman year, she has put on so much weight. in addition, she was the type to constantly ask our lunch mates, "are u gonna finish that?" i remember we were hanging out together with some other friends and she got winded playing dodgeball. she barely even played!! her family put her on a diet but I doubt she stuck with it much. she apparently had crazy kinks which I cannot judge her for, but she constantly judged other girls for their sexual habits and relationship choices. not only that, but I vaguely remember a pregnancy scare with her. she drove a lot of her middle school friends away with her gossipy and two faced behavior, and I dont remember her making and keeping many from high school either.

later on, she went to the votech part of our school and I stayed in the college prep part so I never rly saw her again until graduation. she was huuugge, probably like three times my size. shes in college now but Im not sure how she's paying for it. she and her family aren't rich, yet shes going to a pricey school around three times more expensive than mine.

I have met two girls like Kailyn in my life.Both of which had a mild DD/LD. Both were additionally overweight like Kailyn and had a speech impediment. I won't say anymore because my comment might get moderated. But they were both very similar to Kailyn.

I was just thinking about this yesterday in my car.. My grandmother in the 1950's lived a very similar life to Kailyn and so did most of her friends (all in their early 20's). My grandmother never worked a day in her life and would spend all day shopping, taking care of the baby and she also loved playing with makeup. She was a collector if it.

This got me thinking how much of an anachronism Kailyn is , in all honesty her lifestyle would have been acceptable in the 50's - even normal. It's like she was born in the wrong era.

What do you all think?

^ of course she is but at that time a woman didn't have to be intelligent to survive in the world she could be supported by her man. Prior to women's liberation and the movement of feminism women were expected to stay at home with their kids and to some extent live Kaiyns's lifestyle.

In some way Kailyn very much has the "50's housewife mentality" going on. I feel like she would have been happier back then. Which is why she's an anachronism.

One big difference is that Kailyn doesn't actually do the work of taking care of the home or her kid. She lives with her mother and most likely doesn't even pick up after herself. We know her mother probably does most of the work taking care of Grace. Kailyn doesn't cook or anything like that. I guess what I'm saying is that your average 1950s homemaker worked a lot harder than Kailyn ever will. She's more like the stereotype of the lazy housewife who does nothing but eat bonbons and watch soaps all day.
