Hi GG'ers
Can anyone shed some light on this brand which I see alot of ads for in magazines but have barely heard anything about on the beauty community?

Re: Jane Iredale Makeup
Background:
I have EXTREMELY SENSITIVE SKIN and most products can break me out (including the ones that are supposed to get rid of acne). 95% of makeup/skincare is more likely to break me out than help so I've gotten rather used to not wearing makeup.
I have been in and out of "professional skin care places" to fix some redness/scarring I had from my teenage years of exacerbating the acne (I WILL NEVER TRY DIY skincare again as that was the thing that made it the *WORST*) and my favorite has been this esthetician I have been seeing for 2+years (made the MOST difference- now my acne scarring/redness is barely noticeable but still there- however my skin looks 100X better).
I asked her what makeup products she used (her credentials: been doing skincare for 10+ years/also used to be a make-up artist, although now she only does it for weddings instead of photoshoots and the ilk). One her favorite brands was Jane Iredale (I don't remember the others). I researched that one and found out it was "mineral-makeup" and was acceptable for sensitive skin (although everyone's skin is different so..)
Why I wear Jane Iredale makeup:
TBH I barely wear it as I've gotten used to not wearing make-up and being lazy. The only reason I use this brand when I do however is because I am very careful what I put on my skin and it doesn't break me out. I know it is a high-quality, low toxicity brand but it's quite expensive so if it weren't for my skin sensitivity and the faith I have in my esthetician I don't know if I would.
I don't really know if that was much help, but that's the limited amount of experience i have with. *shrugs**

Re: Jane Iredale Makeup
I used this make up for an awards night - super pigmented and very full coverage.
It was the foundation in the gold tube - a friend had brought it and a tiny pea sized amount did her and my base flawlessly.
Stayed all night no lifting or oxidising. No need for tough ups.
Only negative - super expensive!

Re: Jane Iredale Makeup
I don't know how helpful I can be on this part....I currently have only two products I use of Jane Iredale (like I said I barely wear makeup). I use the purepressed spf 20 golden glow for my foundation. The good thing about this foundation is that it matches my skin tone and I can skip the sunscreen and it lasts fine (I do wear an estee lauder pore primer underneath, I’m not sure how much of a difference that makes).
The one thing is it makes my skin soft and I have oily skin but if you don't, you might need to also wear a moisturizer underneath if your skin is dry. To be honest I prefer the silky-smooth look of liquid foundations but I can't wear those (it will make me oily and breakout).
I can’t wear eyeshadow/mascara/waterline stuff because I rub my eyes too much (dry eye/astigmatism) but I do use the Jane Iredale highlighter pencil (white/pink). The pencil is very thick and easy to smudge/glide on and use but I often have to reapply because I do rub my eyes too much (without thinking about it). Those are the only two products I currently use but you can find some reviews on Jane Iredale stuff on amazon.
Oh yeah the other brand my esthetician recommended was Laura Mercier so I use the tinted moisturizer that also has broad spectrum spf 20 sunscreen.
*I'm just very cautious with make-up/skincare as it more likely to have a negative effect on my skin**

Re: Jane Iredale Makeup
My esthetician RAVES about it. All the girls wear it at the spa I frequent. They all say it's helped their skin with whatever issues they had- acne or reddness. I plan to buy it next once I use up my current foundation (Tarte).

Re: Jane Iredale Makeup
I have done extensive google searches and can't find much at all on their products! Its so strange because it seems quite niche (reserved for facialists etc) so why wouldn't it be more popular?

I think people are too blinded by the big name drugstore and department store brands to actually do any research on the chemical shit storm that is in their cosmetics and find alternatives.

Re: Jane Iredale Makeup
Jane Iredale is fairly popular amongst the green beauty bloggers/YTers, but there aren't many of them out there compared to people who update you on the latest fads. I'm sure many of them are also into the whole "less is more" so they're not going to offer a lot of reviews. I can't imagine someone having a massive vanity and a set of Alex 9 drawers filled with green makeup.

Re: Jane Iredale Makeup
That's fairly true but she has alot of products on offer which is why it surprises me that there aren't at least a couple more reviews. It would be different if it was so niche and she say, only specialised in bases.
I noticed her alot in Singapore magazines actually?
