I agree. I'd never have guessed what her body type was since I only ever watched their videos. I don't follow them on social media of any kind (I also just refuse to get instagram aswell). I'm not surprised that she has done it, since I thought she had the looks for it, face-wise, wayyyy back when (short dark hair kind of way back when). Or maybe I just watch too much ANTM.Vojvodkinja wrote:^ I actually love about her that she's modest about her looks, doesn't pose in front of the cam like sam does (frankly, nic is waaay prettier that her bitchy sister). I haven't even notices her boobs before the nude pictures.

Re: Nicola Chapman WAG.
Re: Too Old for Youtube?
This argument simply makes no sense. I started YT after having a mildly successful beauty blog that I started during a gap year after high school in 2006. When I started, there weren't tween makeup gurus really, the most popular and majority were I would say an average or 17-23. These people started the entire concept and have aged with their channels and you're saying they need to move over for younger people? That's not fair, they built the dang community! I stopped and deleted my channel due to neglecting it (college, life, etc) but I had a respectable for the time 3k subscribers. Using the Google analytics MOST of my viewers were women 18-30, not Tweens. They're not the key demographic for older you tubers.
When you're a young teen it is easy to think technology and the internet is your world, but that's because you're not venturing beyond tween/teen related areas of the internet. 25 to 40 year olds make up most of Facebook, by the way, which started as a college student only site. Teenagers think everything new is for them. I remember vividly feeling that way, like everyone older than me was out of touch. The thing is, my parents really had no idea about the internet, while my generation was the first to have computers for the entirety of our lives thus far, and internet for most of it. We aren't going to grow out of the internet, sorry. There was an 80% increase in elderly joining Facebook last year, everyone is on the internet now, forging their own niches. You don't get to claim one area as your own. Teens took over tumblr like wildfire, but it didn't start that way either. I guess I'm a little irritated that any young person would think *gasp* 30 something's are out of touch and don't have anything to offer a tween demographic when all they did was grow older! By the way... If I were looking for real beauty tips or life advice I would probably check out someone with more experience than me!

^ ugh came here to say the same thing. now ian haste, nic's husband, is jumping on the yt bandwagon, he's very late. youve got to be kidding me. i thought he had a respectable career already. cant blame him but its ridiculous how everyone in their family is doing this. oscar, tan's lil bro, is obviously trying to follow in his sisters footsteps as well. tan has been mentioning his cute little IG and social media accounts more often.

Re: Too Old for Youtube?
It's a shame that certain people feel that once you're over a certain age you should just go into a corner and die, smfh. Some that are thought to be 'too old' were using the internet way before you know it alls. The internet is a great place and it helps people who may not be able to reach out and make new friends.

^Don't waste your time. Just let the op think whatever she wants to think. When she reaches her mother's age she's going to feel embarrassed that she thought like this.
You know, I always meant to ask lips how many subscribers her youtube channel has. If it's less that Pixiwoo's, then she needs to stfu. ^_^ There's a difference between a woman taking good care of herself and a young lady who refuses to grow up.

Anybody who might still be reading this thread, please take a note that lips did not answer my question nor address any of our rebuttals. Thanks, and have a fabulous day. ^_^

Re: Too Old for Youtube?
We've already explained to you why you are incorrect. Women who get botox aren't trying to appeal to a younger fanbase, they have earned the right to feel beautiful and confident. Botox and cosmetic procedures don't even have anything to do with youtube. Are you trying to say that women without youtube accounts who get botox are trying to score a younger boyfriend? How do you know that you or me or any of the rest of us aren't eventually going to get botox? You know, your mom was a teenager once. You're literally saying....nothing. We've already been over all these themes several times during your pathetic joke of a thread, and you refuse to listen to us. We've already explained all this to you and you aren't addressing any of our rebuttals or counter-arguments. You just keep restating your own opinion with nothing solid to back it up.

Sam Different Name
Can I have my name in a different color? You know, where it says, Users who visited during the last 24 hours. I dont need to be green or red. You can put me as the weird ass, or stay away from that dude, or sniffs underwear. That is all up to you. I need a change of pace in this mundane life of mine.
Re: Too Old for Youtube?
I have to say, I stumbled across this thread, and I'm SHOCKED. I don't want to come across hurt or pissed because random anonymous people should never affect one's life like that. But I do take issue with ageism and youth-obsessed culture that isnt doing ANY woman any favors, younger or "older."
I'm not ashamed in the least to say that I just turned 43. I have been very sick, so I haven't been able to do what I love for a while now. I watch YouTube videos for fun, for inspiration, I'm a makeup artist of 20 years on and off, freelance, so I can't say that I get much in the way of tips, but I do like to see what people are using for new products, whether I'd consider buying them or not, it's fun to check them out on YT.
Most of the people I watch are "older" professional makeup artists who are well known for their work on the runways, magazine editorials, etc. and have a channel or are guests on a channel secondary to their job in the industry. But there are a few vloggers I come across that entertain me, so I'll watch.
I also admit that most of these so-called "guru" girls irritate me and I stop watching pretty quick. I didn't go to beauty school, but you don't have to. I don't need a license to do makeup in my State. I'm self-taught. I'm an artist (I design and make artisan jewelry and accessories and was a professional graphic designer and publications expert for many years), and I just had a natural flare for makeup. I LOVE makeup. I've worked freelance doing models, including when I modeled, theater makeup for musicals, proms, weddings, and even just groups of women on a girls night out. So I'm not a joke. I'm very educated in skin care and healthier makeup alternatives, and I know what I'm doing. I'm not some "hater." I feel I have enough expertise and if someone is bogus and I feel the need to offer a comment, I'm going to do it. I try not to be rude about it.
I'm a fan of Pixiwoo. Yes, I use quite a few of their brushes. I don't agree with everything they say, but they are the real deal to me. I'm confused, guys. Why is this thread here in relation to Pixiwoo, specifically? Is late 30s really "old" to you? Are you saying there is no space for someone like them or like ME for that matter on YouTube in beauty?! 'Cause as far as I can see Pixiwoo have over 1,800,000 subscribers.
I didn't read this entire thread because it frankly burns me that it's even here and that anyone would say that if I decided that since I can't go out and do makeup like I used to because I'm homebound due to illness, and I'm looking for an alternative outlet for my makeup artistry, I shouldn't bother at all because I'm "Too Old." I'm not saying this to be conceited because, believe me, when YOU hit 35+ most of you are going to start having trouble (I see the trouble start in 20s, which is horrifying because I never even worried about aging at that age) because of this culture you live in that's got you thinking that women expire at 30. What a horrible thing to suggest to your fellow women. We should encourage each other, for god's sake. What's happening? It's bad enough when you see this attitude EVERYWHERE in pop culture, but when actual regular, every day women like us start saying it to each other? It's not good. So I'm going to say that I take great care of my skin. I do not approach my skin care as "anti-aging." I approach it as nourishing and giving it all it needs (from the inside out!) to function the way it used to when I was in my 20s. It's just a fact that aging is the one thing we ALL go through and it's inevitable. Our skin starts to break down in several ways. So I give it the ingredients and nutrients so that my cells will turn over because it's not going to do that the way it used to anymore. I also don't drink, smoke, or go in the sun. I come from an era where we didn't know a thing about skin cancer. So I got skin cancer at 25. Don't you think I have some wisdom and useful info to share with 20-somethings? Also, because I take care of my skin, I do not have one wrinkle on my face. No one ever puts me over 30. I'm youthful and relatable to lots of women of all different backgrounds, and you wouldn't even think I'm 43 unless I told you so. My skin is in better shape and healthier than it was at 27. You can see so in photos. I have no crow's feet. All I do is take care of my skin. I don't dump hundreds on a skin cream, either. If you put me next to a few 20-something beauty vloggers, I can give them a run for their money IF you had to compare us, which is stupid to me, when it comes to beauty and fashion. I'm NO OLD LADY. I'm not "Too Old" for ANYTHING. Oh, and I know women in their low 30s with wrinkles that I don't have, and there are a couple super popular YTers who have a ton of pretty deep forehead wrinkles that I do NO have, either. Not that there is anything wrong with it. I mean, why not embrace what you've got?! How much energy to we have to piss away worrying about the inevitable and trying to stop it or cover it up? I don't have to cover anything up. I go bare faced all the time. Totally comfortable with it. A lot of YouTubers are aging themselves with too much makeup.
I've gone back and forth about starting a vlog just for fun for about a year now, and I can come up with a ton of reasons to talk myself out of it. I don't need another reason! I think viewers of all ages could learn a lot from me, and I think I'm fun to watch. I'm a friggin' metal singer for god's sake! I can command a stage. I don't think people would click on me and think "shit, she's Too Old For YouTube." On the other hand, I'd WANT to make my channel slightly directed towards women 35-45 because we do have special needs as our skin is showing visible signs of aging, and while we all are going to age, it's okay to do it with GRACE and to stay healthy and nourish our skin so we can continue to enjoy wearing ALL KINDS of makeup. I prefer more matte shadows now than I did in my "younger" days, but not because I can't pull them off. It's just think that there is such a thing as too much glitter, and there is a time and place for it. But I wear anything I damned well want that brings out my best features. I'm not freaking dead yet!
Are you going to tell me that I'm Too Old For YouTube? I shouldn't bother having a channel? I can't succeed? No one will watch me? It's discouraging, but it also makes me want to do it and show all your asses that you're wrong. I just wish the folks who would say such a thing would think a bit before saying it. Sam and Nic Chapman, Charlotte Tilbury, Mary Greenwell, Val Garland, Lisa Eldrige, Pat McGrath? They are ALL "Too Old For YouTube" under your standards, and they are the most successful MUAs in the WORLD. God, if they decided they weren't going to put anything on YouTube, what we'd be missing? Because THEY are the women I LEARN from. Not some random 23-year-old vlogger who decided to start a YouTube channel. I'm NOT saying that they suck, so don't jump all over me, I'm just saying they aren't the people I learn from. I learn from those women you think are "Too Old." Being ageist is NOT COOL. I hope that anyone else out there reading this thread, and I know you're there. I'm not the only one (I do tend to watch more popular vloggers than my friends, but it's just the way I am. In my mind I'm not 43. I feel like I stopped at about 28 for some reason, don't ask why cause I don't know) don't read this and shut down their dreams and aspirations because of it. That's just shitty. Your 30s and 40s are some of the best years of your life because you know who you are, you don't give a shit about a lot of crap you used to, you have developed skills, careers, families, made major life decisions good and bad, and you're likely to be on the path of your life's work. WE have a LOT to teach YOU, so you should hope and wish for more "older" women beauty vloggers!! I can't tell you how many younger women ask me how do you keep your skin looking nice? What do you use? How can I look like you when I'm your age? Well, watch my damned videos, and I'll share some of my secrets with you. Otherwise, they die with me. You know, since I'm already one foot in the box and all. P.S. I STILL love Hello Kitty, too, so I'm throwing this in here!

Re: Too Old for Youtube?
Here are some stats that might surprise you. Distribution of viewers ages are pretty dead even. I also know a lot of women who wish there were MORE older women with beauty channels because the very young women don't give them the info they need. So perhaps the issue is that we need MORE "older" women like the Chapman sisters and Lisa Eldridge (a LOT of young women, even teens watch her!) on YouTube!

It was revealed in one of sam and nic's videos that their mother used to suffer domestic abuse at the hands of their father and he left soon after being arrested.

Why are you so serious? This person is allowed to have his/her opinion.
I think 30+ years old is old lol get over it

Re: Too Old for Youtube?
Why are you so serious? This person is allowed to have his/her opinion. I'm new to the forum and lol if you truly think 30s and 40s is fine then you wouldnt be posting this whole shit.Noormua7 wrote:I have to say, I stumbled across this thread, and I'm SHOCKED.

Re: Too Old for Youtube?
Actually if a guy in his 50s wants a woman in her 20s he's rightfully called out as a shallow pervert.....but I have a feeling nothing anybody says here is going to get through to you, so have a nice life. If nothing after 30 matters I guess I should throw myself off a bridge in the next few years? No thanks!
Noormua7, I'm happy you're here to teach us and I'm glad you've taken all the negative experiences in your life and turned them into positive learning experiences. I'm many years behind you but I'll be proud to one day say that I was never catty towards older women in my youth, like many of my peers in this thread have been.
When I first contributed to this thread I never expected it to stay alive for as long as it has....apparently this issue is an even hotter button than we all though it was?

I am most likely not going to be returning to the forum in the future! But I would like to thank all of you for the advise, humor, and support I have received during my years of participation here. This place doesn't deserve the hate it gets!
